The S3 is still a current model, so definitely worth buying (way more so than the S2 IMO). Bear in mind however that the S3 is a lot slower than the S4 / S5, that it doesn't get any of the new faces from WacthOS 7 other than Artist (and several from OS 5 and 6 also - basically most of the faces since then (maybe all other than Artist in fact) as they need the bigger display of the S4 and later). Of course the screen is smaller - usable area by quite a bit. Lastly if you're used to an S5 is doesn't have AOD.

It came in white and gray, there hasn't ever been a black. It came with a unique band with a matching ceramic pin and contrast inside colour (that can't be seen when wearing it), and the fancy Apple charging dock that is available separately for too much money.

I see lots of S3s (and even S2s) in ceramic for way too much money. I paid around US$400 for my gray one in perfect condition (though the band has shiny areas on the inside) and with all the original pack-ins, delivered to me in NZ, but shipping always bumps up overseas purchases for me, even from Australia as this one was. Others can tell you what is a good price better than I can
Yes I was speaking of the grey, don’t know what I said black.
So 290€ each is a pretty solid deal then, might get tempted for both. Someone help me 😂

You might be in the wrong place for help, unless you mean you're looking for enablers to tell you it's a great idea :D

I still have a loose idea to get the S2 and S3 in white to complete my collection, but I'm not actively looking for a while now... No; really.

Hi ceramic lover, are AW series 3 in ceramic worth buying ?
Also what is a good price for them ?
Also white or black ceramic ? Or both ? 🤔
If you don’t mind the difference in screen size and not having the newer watch faces from the S4 and above, i would say get it if you find a good deal! I chose the S3 over the S2 since it’s still supported. I’m still trying to figure out battery life, but from what i’m seeing today it’s holding up fairly well, not behind my S6 about the same as my SE.

As for price, from what i’m seeing it ranges between 200-350 usd. I set my limit to 250.

I went for white because it stands out a little bit more than the gray ceramic. I rarely see the gray listed for sale. But if i had an option I don’t mind having them both. 😜

On Chipgate.. The seller offered a whopping $30 off for a chipped screen, or a return. Not exactly what I was hoping for, what do y’all think? I don’t think I can part with this thing now though. Same band as earlier, was at the park with my little.

Doesn’t the ceramic have a different warranty? Maybe you can give apple a call and maybe they’ll replace it for you. Maybe-but it’s worth a shot.

I guess my advice would be return it and buy another.

If however you don't think you could find another for what you paid for it, then you got it on a yoink and the price possibly allowed for the chip. It doesn't affect the function, and it isn't likely to develop into anything worse, so in that case take another $30 off and keep it.

Warranty won't cover a chip as that's accidental damage. AppleCare+ might cover a chip (and definitely a broken screen), but you can't add that after the first 60 days from purchase

waited until today to take pictures of my ceramic S3 since I picked it up last night. Here are some pics:

Canary Yellow

That is a gorgeous watch and some awesome photos to capture its beauty!! What is the charger you have it on? Now I’m gonna need Canary and the pride SB!!

True, i’ve read stories - they luckily got replacements for their scuffed and chipped watches. But yea it might be hard to convince them.

I’d take the $30 and just roll with it. It’s so small anyways.

I don’t *think* (hope?) it’ll get worse, but it’s the language I used when talking to the seller. Because it wasn’t disclosed, and who knows. I’m leaning towards keeping it, it is small, it just bothers me thinking down the line of reselling it with “damage”. I just have to get up off my lazy butt and sell some stuff of mine, to help cover the cost faster. That or go full ceramic and only one watch.. Enjoying it more than I thought it would. There are some bands I prefer on gold though, not that any are bad.

Thank you, can’t stop looking at it. It’s sitting on the magnetic charging dock from apple. I heard canary is very similar to ginger.

I think it should be fine not to get any worse, though I guess it would be slightly weaker against a solid smack on the glass than an undamaged one.

I've only had mine for around 18 hours and I'm wearing it now with the Soft White band it came with. Other than the pics I posted earlier of the greens and blues, and briefly putting on Light Blurple / White prototype I have yet to try it with anything else. I think it's going to be like SBSS in that it will make some bands really sing and some will just outright not suit it, but I think there will be more that simply don't work with ceramic than SBSS. Anything with a metal lug is a no-go for me, and some of the Woven Nylons with black lugs might grind on me too much to wear.

I really like it, but a real test will be next time I'm in the office, which is not until Wednesday as today and Tuesday I am working from home and Monday is a holiday here. I'm pretty sure it will look good for work paired with the right shirt and band, but I'm already certain if I could only have one Watch it would still be SS for me. I always intended to keep it as well as my others and I'm definitely hanging on to it, but it isn't a casual as I consider my SBSS and if it doesn't work for work I'm not sure when I'll wear it.

As an aside I got the second band the original owner bought it with also, but oddly they went with a White Sport Band - perhaps they misunderstood that it came with a Soft White plus what they chose. It's kinda cool as my wife had the whites in our collection and I only had OG WHITE (caps deliberate), so now I have White 2 and Soft White. Any any other Sport Band would have been a duplicate or something my wife has that I chose not to buy as by S5 release we were buying all the new SBs between us. Shame the original owner didn't go with a Meyer Lemon LeLoo though...

I think I want a surf blue? I think because having a brand new gen1 blue.. in my mind they are the same color. But I really don’t know. This is the kind of price range I’d go for though.
I think it would look lovely on the ceramic 😍

Oh my. Now I want a white ceramic!! 😍
Go stand in line with the rest of us. 😁

Good thing I like to ✨stand out✨ and don’t care about proper office attire 😁
