A rare chance to see a Sport Band vs. Solo Loop comparison while I still have the SB. Looking at the untouched DN Sport Band from a sealed box yoink, you can see how you lose some color where the light is hitting just inside the outside border.

Compared to a similar area in the Solo Loop where the color remains rich. And this is a Solo Loop I got used so it even has some shine/wear that kinda of mimics the natural color distribution of a Sport Band. Of course it’s not great that Deep Navy Solo Loop seems to have widespread shine issues but I think it still demonstrates how the color is slightly different between old and new styles.

I don’t know how evident it is in this artificially lit photo but irl the Solo Loop is definitely a little more Blue Horizon-y rich too, in addition to the better color distribution.View attachment 1717440
Very useful comparison! I'm still brooding about getting a DN - can't make up my mind whether solo or sport band. To date I have two solos - pink citrus and (yes) Plum. I like the solo but I find it too soft for the weight of a SS watch. IMHO it fits aluminum watches much better. Sport bands OTOH feel heavier, and more stable for the SS.
But maybe it's me needing to get used to the solo's lightweight.

So quickly back to the material of the new sport bands.. It is very much like the 1st Gen white band I have - very sturdy, more plastic versus rubbery in feel. I have to say, I think I prefer that feel versus the highly rubbery feel of my Surf Blue for example.

I agree in principle (that lighter bands match the Aluminum Watch better) but maybe your Solo Loops are just the wrong size, i.e. not snug enough. Because if they are perfectly sized and snug you don‘t feel the weight of the Steel as much anymore as the Watch body can‘t really move.

This old chestnut from September has crashed and burnt...

I sat myself down for a bit of a talk this afternoon. After a frank exchange of views, I agreed that I would limit my Sport Band collection to retail bands only - nothing that is exclusive to a particular watch, unless I own the watch.

Safe to say, I don't own eight watches...

There is one missing, or four missing depending on your viewpoint.

First person to identify the missing one (or four) wins no prize...

I see cloud! I’ll miss you cloud...

You’re missing Black Hermès. Good luck finding it in S/M though. And if we’re counting bundle only bands, I guess FS/V and FS/W.

@ChrisBe69 So it’s raining gloom and doom today, no real light. But here’s an attempt I’m not super happy with (I like natural sunlight), but best I can do under some fake light atm. Clementine, Flamingo, Peach, Papaya. Out of the box, Peach looked a decently bright pastel creamsicle orange (I was excited when I saw), but it does pull some pink in some light, especially next to papaya. On wrist I see orange creamsicle.

Today’s delivery: original sealed Spring Yellow Classic Buckle and the Nike Black/Hyper Jade prototype sportband.
The Spring Yellow Classic Buckle was so well priced, I couldn’t resist buying a spare one too.

I really wish I had picked this one up along with Grapefruit when they were on deep discount at BestBuy...I yoinked Grapefruit for $19 and I think Spearmint was $29. I'm a dummy for passing it by.
