I have a question, when the new watch band colors come out. Do they always add colors to match for watch faces and do they remove older colors? If they do remove older colors, what happens with the faces already made with the older colors? Are they removed from your watch faces? Thanks

Yep fall and winter bands released on time.. iPhone 12 and its matching cases didn’t though 😉 jokes, I’m sure that has nothing to do with it.

Cactus was from last years Spring now a year ago, it sure lasted on the store longer than it should’ve, usually it would’ve been discontinued with the release of the new Apple Watch in September. I suspect Apple for some reason decided to keep it on sale until stock depleted.

The other poster brings up a good point too with the software updates ‘spoiling’ imminent watch band colours - is there any precedent for the Watch OS not spoiling new colours before release? For example were Grapefruit, Surf Blue and Cactus in the Watch app before the bands themselves dropped?
I think only the winter/summer colors get spoiled because they don’t want to have bother with a separate release in case somehow watchOS is magically bug-free.

And didn’t all those “on-time” spring equinox band releases also come with the attendant press/product releases for iPads and such? Leaving cases aside, I think apple just wants people’s eyeballs on the site all at once.

As someone said, perhaps with all the new band styles and sizing scheme they are taking time to bank a bunch of bands so it’s not stock hell like the fall.

And @MDMT no they never drop any face colors...look through there’s still colors there from 2015 that aren’t strictly band colors like Light Orange and Light Blue. And my Nike hasn’t been paired in awhile but I assume Terra Blush and Total Orange, also orphans, are still there.

They even made a point of making the S3 color picker run much faster to compensate for how long the list has gotten, rather unmanageable without the scrolling of the Digital Crown 2.0. Now it’s almost too fast, terminal velocity haha.

Yeah AirPods Gen 2 brought the 2019 bands near the equinox but the 2018 spring bands waited until that Chicago high school iPad event the last Tuesday of March 2018, the 27th...

The big difference with 2018 was there was a press release before the 27th that teased some of the new Spring bands. We don’t (yet) have that this time

Yeah exactly I think we will at least need GurPross to tell us iPads being announced before the dominos start to fall, right?

Just filling in the data in case they don’t feel the need to drop with iPads and perhaps just want the accessory revenue in Q3. Dyin’ over here, how can one even begin to plan their white boy summer without knowing the new band colors???

Does anyone have both surf blue and northern blue sport bands that they could take photos of please, I want to see how they compare.

Thanks

NEW COLORS TODAY... ;):apple:
Apple just announcing WWDC 2021 was a pretty big announcement. Maybe it’s the week of big announcements (press releashes) and in fact thus new colours indeed soon.

My wishlist:

-Lemonade (light yellow) Braided Solo Loop
-Cornflower (light blue) Leather Link
-Kiwi green Solo Loop

I am withdrawing my demand for apple to rerelease ultraviolet under another name, because I just found someone with one and threw a stupid amount of money at them (arriving tomorrow, if the post office is telling the truth...), LOL.

So frustrating that we have no new wristbands.

Maybe with so many apple stores in Europe forced to close for such long periods of time they have so much stock they are not in any rush to update the lines.

But I remember last year, at the time of last years Spring release, weren’t all Apple stores worldwide closed down because of the outbreak of Covid?

I remember myself thinking for the first time if I were to want any of the then-new spring bands I’d need to rely 100% on apples renders (as well as pics people post here) rather than actually getting to see it in store for myself

I’m surprised nobody has suggested they’re maybe skipping a season to prepare us for a new lug connector... 😰

Disclaimer, I am certain that isn’t the case 😇
