Apple Store is showing that the 40mm California poppy leather link is only M/L while the 44mm leather link is only S/M. Definitely not confusing for someone new to Apple Watch and bands! 😂
Great deal on 38mm black woven nylon band. Matches well with midnight aluminum

That looks so good with the stainless!
So, while I'm debating on the eventual need of a Charcoal BSL, this rare yoink popped up: new and boxed demo (replacement unity from Apple) of the Deep Navy solo Loop. It is a size 1, a size smaller than what I usually wear, and it is a tad too tight, but I couldn't ignore the deal: only 12 euros. And it looks gorgeous! How long do you think is it gonna take to stretch it a couple of mm?!

Modern Buckle - Garnet
Does anyone know the reason why the Modern Buckle bands were / are only available for small watches?

I’d like to think it just has to do with the buckle looking weird in the larger size—it already feels kind of huge as a 41mm and I wear large only a few off the last hole—but it’s probably just the gender politics of fashion. I guess there’s also the fact that the Granada/NASA leather is seamless and pretty thin; that slightly off-kilter ratio would be intensified with the 45mm.Modern Buckle - Garnet

this is super interesting. was this mentioned in this thread? where did you see this?Apple made a prototype of the Deployant/butterfly style clasp and put in on the classic buckle leather, fwiw.
MikeDop showed me some photos I don’t think I can share (or find now). The short side looked weird just being one smooth uninterrupted piece ending in a horseshoe buckle.this is super interesting. was this mentioned in this thread? where did you see this?
i used to have the modern buckle, but I actually found the classic buckle leather to be nicer. But I’m no Expert, I’m just going by aesthetics. I still wonder why apple stopped the classic buckle because I found it to be the nicest (I might be the only one who did though).

My pet theory was always the people willing to spend $150 just went for the $340 Hermes.
I always thought it was the reverse actually. The classic buckle bands are definitely not as nice as the Hermes leather. But they are good enough that most people wanting a classic watch look were perfectly happy with the quality for $150. That ate into Hermes sales. By taking the classic buckles out of the lineup, Apple pushes people wanting that look to Hermes.MikeDop showed me some photos I don’t think I can share (or find now). I don’t think Tim is in the business of discontinuing products that sell too well…the doctrine of good-better-best has plenty of room between the $49 and the $340. But mostly my guess is informed by the price of random third-party leather bands and the fact that people were probably not happy with what they were getting for $150, even after they had to scrap the first few generations of the mashed potato and then filleted leather.I always thought it was the reverse actually.
