The most important part of today's presentation:

"iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max introduce an all new camera system, starting with the new 77 millimeter telephoto camera, with 3X optical zoom, a new ultra wide camera, with auto-focus, and a larger F 1.8 aperture, with a 92% improvement in low light. And a new wide camera that has a larger F 1.5 aperture, and 1.9 micron pixels, for our largest sensor ever, with up to 2. 2 times improvement in low light."

That seems like a serious upgrade. That said, the cameras have been really good for a long time now. Will this be a huge upgrade over the cameras in the XS?

I know not a person in my life that cares this much about the iPhone camera. And I know actual directors and videographers. Every ****ing year its about the camera. No one I know cares about the camera. They're just advertising to teenagers that think they need a better camera.

That's fine with me, my iPhone X is still working perfectly. Zero reason to upgrade.
Ha. I literally know 20-year old who is now saving up to go from an 11 to the 13 Pro. Seems a bit of a waste of money to me, but yes it is all about the camera and how good the pictures will be on the 'Gram. (Spoiler Alert, the quality of the pictures will still depend mainly on the quality of the composition.)

I can't think that there is a bigger Apple fan than I am. I've been a customer since my very first Apple II in the late 70's and Apple stock comprises the majority of my investment portfolio. Even I have to say that this keynote was underwhelming and disappointing. The Apple Watch in particular seemed to be the slightest iteration forward. Maybe you're too young to remember the true excitement of a Steve Jobs keynote? I miss Apple announcements that surprise and delight... that really push these products categories forward. Never has Tim Cook seemed so gray.
I can understand your disappointment. Apple is doing iterations of its current products, making them better. But please understand Apple has been hurt by COVID, and still is hurting as everyone is. Apple doesn't run well remotely. There are major parts shortages (Apple Watch delayed). There are staff shortages at Apple & ar their suppliers. Shipping worldwide is FUBAR. It takes years for Apple to develop amazing new products. We’ve all lost 2 to a worldwide pandemic. Did you really expect a miracle this particular year? I rather like what they announced. I’ll get a new watch, my spouse a new iPhone Pro (Upgrading from an X). Chill out a bit. It’s not Apple, it’s the whole world.

People look forward to any news related to M1/M2/M..., so they are disappointed. My i7p is still in good condition, so there is no preparation for replacement, but I am very interested in the new iPad mini, that's all.

Man, that just wasn't doing it for me. For those who are upgrading, let me know how these new iPhone 13 Pros are doing when you get the devices. But, I miss the "Steve Jobs'" days of these events (I've been a huge Apple fan since 1997). Hopefully, Apple won't disappoint with the new M1X MacBook Pros.
I'm upgrading to Pro Max from XS Max but I've now got ZERO excitement about doing so. It's such a bland upgrade. I really wanted them to address the mask FaceID situation in some way... anything would have been fine! And the new pro color... ugh. What happened to Cyberpunk Bronze? No always on display. Really, everything people wanted Apple decided not to do yet they put in features on the camera that most people could give two sh*ts about. Sure they are nice, but nothing outrageously good unless you're into that.

Totally underwhelmed by the lack of upgrades and the disgusting colour of the new 13 pro what happened to innovation with Apple everything is boring no fast charging six times zoom Wow Same old 12 megapixel cameras I would swap to a different brand if it wasn’t for the software and the ecosystem I got a $300 real me android has 64watt of fast charging Apple sticks with its own 20watt wahoo. Okay so they got a faster chipped in other phones on the market so they say but it’s taken them all these years to get 120 Hz refresh rate useless it took them a whole year to work out about five different upgrades they should be ashamed of themselves with what they’ve released not saying it’s the best phone ever. Steve Jobs would roll over in his grave he saw what came out this year.
Well there you go that’s my opinion anyway and just a really poor effort on Apple’s part and have you seen the price of their accessories here in Australia AU$95 for a leather case you’ve gotta be kidding me right but at least I’ve got some decent colours better than the pro colours that they already had from last year.
What happened to your punctuations.

Usually I’m the Apple naysayer and there were some pretty decent updates today.

Not sure what people were expecting, these are very mature product lines.

Good updates to the Pro with ProMotion, Apple Watch received a nice facelift and the iPad mini had a great update.

They are obviously not trying to reach last years iDevice owners and my wallet is happy about that. Not even their marketing videos could convince me otherwise this year. Usually I am like OMG NEW COLOR. I NEED IT NOW! Not this year

I think the cameras will be a really good upgrade on the XS phones. But is that really enough? Unless you're taking a heap of photos, I don't really see any worth in this year's phone if you got an XS. it's still plenty fast enough, the screen is fine and if the battery is still decent, it lasts long enough. The notch on the 13 is also deeper. Why Apple? Why would you do that? narrower but deeper will make it stand out even more than it does now!
Crappy colors for the Max line as well. I just feel like Apple put in the minimum effort for the watch and the iPhone this year yet expect the full price for them.

Not going to apologize for Apple, but at the same time "expectation is the thief of joy".

Thus, many of you here are blaming Apple for your lack of joy.

In reality:

1. The base iPad got a kick-ass processor upgrade and the insanely useful front-camera upgrade
2. The iPad mini got a COMPLETE redesign that makes it better in EVERY way
3. The Watch got a bigger, more durable screen and a bunch of (more) excuses to get/use it
4. The base iPhones are better than last year (including the supposed-to-disappear mini)
5. The iPhone Pros got 120Hz screens (I wish I'd waited), among other things
6. Prices remained stable

Anyone in the market for the above products (I'm in the market for the watch only) feels like it's their birthday.

So, folks have to come to peace with the fact that it's unreasonable to expect Apple to blow you existing users away EVERY YEAR after you purchase a product.

I'm in the ecosystem, and every Apple product I own does EVERYTHING I need it to. For me, everything that comes after is just a bonus for when my devices die or I feel like the features have accumulated enough to warrant the upgrade.

All I wanted was power-button Touch ID on the iPhone Pro. Not under-screen -- that would've been nice, but I wasn't greedy. I just wanted a g-- d--- way to unlock my iPhone while wearing a mask, which is what I've been doing (as required by law here) for nearly two years. I would've bought an iPhone 12 with just that and iPhone 13 sticker slapped on it and nothing more.

I didn't even get that.

Really feeling like Apple execs are out of touch (ha!) if they don't see how much this simple feature dramatically improves quality of life -- they must just live on compounds and/or not be using their own devices in daily public life.

Biggest letdown of my Apple-owning life... and I've been an Apple user since Mac OS 9

PS. I have an Apple Watch and the unlock with AW doesn't even work for me.

Only thing I might consider buying is the updated Watch, but disappointed to no see battery life improvements.

iPhone as a product line is meh, I'll replace my iPhone X when it breaks beyond economical repair - and then I'll buy used. Wouldn't buy another iOS device at all if it wasn't for compatibility with my Mac and Watch.

Will never buy another iPad unless they open up the OS. It's an overpriced toy as it is.

You realise that apple is an exploitative company right? Like they only just stoped using children. Saying you're an apple fan is not a good thing.

Something came up while I was watching the Event and didn't see all of it. It sounds like I didn't miss much. I've been thinking about Upgrading to Android from the XR for a while now and I think this event kind of solidified that based on what I've seen. I guess I just want something new and exciting.
