You know what says everything you need to know?

Microsoft Sufrace has comments enabled on YouTube.
Apple disabled the comments on theirs.

Maybe it's time to fire "I only care about iPhone" Tim Cook and while they are at it fire "Only if it's thin and shiny" Jony Ive and replace him with the person responsible for the Microsoft Surface Studio. They both seem washed-up and out of ideas.

Here's my seven word summary:

Steve Jobs has died.
Apple is dying.
Not quite a haiku.

I was really looking forward to the new MBP and I'm happy with the improvements introduced - but it's the price point I can't get over. $1799 for an entry level macbook with the touch bar and such a small SSD? I'm going to pass on upgrading. I'm willing to pay a premium for Apple quality but this is a little ridiculous.
The config I'm looking at is $3499, I thought those prices were over.

But let me get this straight, 16GB RAM, and 4 USB C ports, only? Just asking.

Also without the physical volume buttons, is there a way to boot the MBP silently if you left the volume up before shutting it down? Nothing says Pro like a loud noise starting your computer in a quiet space.
Booting up? You mean installing a new OS version? That doesn't happen so often and never when I was in a quiet space.

I HATE that about Apple keynotes under Tim Cook. "This is the best X we have ever made."

Something about it just really annoys me.

It doesn't even make sense, why would a company build a product worse than what they have previously made? Notice how they don't say, "this is the best X in the market".

After all these years, no Mac Tablet?
No Mac touch screen??
Just a touch strip??? "BS"
What the.
What the..
What the...
WTF!!!!

After the Microsoft Surface Studio announcement, the marketing folks at Apple probably had to redo the entire keynote - and leave the iMac out entirely to not look worse than they already did. Microsoft currently is years ahead of Apple in the desktop and hybrid notebook/tablet market. Why? Simply because they still care about real computers.

Was this supposed to "Make the Mac Great Again?"
After several years it appears the only way to "Make the Mac Great Again" is not to buy a Mac or Macbook.

Then maybe in the future you will see a slide from Apple similar to this:
q:100

Only it will be about Macs/Macbooks.

Ironic? Maybe.

As long as people are still willing to feed into Apple, expect no change.

Let us not forget the new Macbook Pro is now Black(ish). To many people, that Matters. ;)

Seriously, though, the new Space Gray color is nicer (to me) then the regular aluminum silver color.

Powerbook 170 $4599 in 1992 $.
Powerbook Pro late 2016 $1999.
Given inflation since 1992 of about 30%, the computer is less then 25% the cost net net. With 10,000%x the performance and capability.

Stop whining!

People are programmed to be so needy! :D

It really is quite adorable watching all the childish anger and pouting here!

I'm always astonished how so many people here let a company have so much power over their lives, causing so much anger and frothing. Over tech devices no less. Seems really unhealthy.

In a nutshell! Apple no longer compares laptops against the top laptops in the market, they compare their latest Macbook Pro with a bloody laptop they invented 25 years ago, says it all doesn't it?

You just don't GET IT! The Touch Bar™, designed in Cupertino, changes the way we use a laptop. Did you not see the amazing DJ performance without the use of any additional tools? Innovations such as 3D Force Touch™ and the Touch Bar™ (patent pending), are the FUTURE! Stop living in the past. I for one, have the courage to purchase a $1000 LG display as a docking station for my MacBook Pro Touch Bar™ enabled device.

I've been defending Apple a lot the last few months but there is no way to defend this. Look, the touch bar is cool but that shouldn't have been more than half of the keynote. Seriously, after this long of a wait and you give us an overpriced MacBook Pro? I say "Pro" very loosely. No magsafe, etc. Just USB-c ports. Which means adapters or replace all of your ****. THEY CAN'T EVEN MAKE THEIR OWN MONITOR ANYMORE. I mean, they could have at least made the effort to take the LG monitor and paint it silver and slap an Apple logo on it. No new Mac Pro. No new Mac Mini. No new iMac.

As I type this on my 3 year old iMac, I'm sadly coming to the conclusion that this may be the last Mac I ever own.
