So if you already own a iPhone XsMax why are you getting a or why do you want a 11 Pro Max ?

Are the cameras on the XsMax just horrible and unacceptable?

Or why please share your thoughts I genuinely want to know.
Better camera and way better battery.

I've loved my XS Max, but there are several things I'm excited for with the 11 Pro Max:

  • That camera tech. I take a lot of photos and videos, so any improvement to the camera system is highly appreciated, and this seems to be a pretty big one
  • Faster CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, etc. Better performance is always a plus, especially when things like the matrix multiplication ASIC (not really an ASIC, but close enough) will allow the phone to do other amazing things in a timely fashion (Deep Fusion, Night Mode, etc)
  • Hugely improved battery life despite the extra performance. 5 more hours on a Max sized phone? Very, very nice.
  • Better display. Brightness took a huge leap with the 11 Pro phones. Same with contrast ratio. Since virtually all our interaction with the phone is through the display, these are good things. It'll be even easier to see outside in bright light!
  • Faster FaceID and better angles. Again, FaceID is used every time I pick up the phone (to unlock), and often multiple times during a session (credential verification, etc). This is also a nice quality of life improvement.
  • Hugely improved front camera. Bumped from 7MP to 12. Also, better video out of it, including the ability to do slo-mo and 4K@60FPS!
  • Better water proofing. Yes, the XS phones were also IP68, but not all '8's are equal. The XS phones were rated at 2m for 30 mins. The 11 series phones are rated at 4m for 30 minutes. That's a big difference.
  • Those finishes! I'm still torn between the Midnight Green and the Space Grey, but those matte finishes and new color are great.

So, yeah. A lot to look forward to. :)

I'm on the upgrade program and can't say for certainty if I was going to upgrade or not due to this not being a big release. But, I did upgrade from the Xs Max to the Pro Max because I hate the cell reception on my Xs Max. I've never had issues with any iPhone except the Xs Max. I don't have good reception at my desk at work, but never had an issue with calls failing or dropping until the Xs. 95% of the time I'm at my desk and I get a call, the call will answer than I hear nothing for 20 seconds, then it drops. The only time this doesn't happen is if I have my Bluetooth headphones connected and answer the call via Bluetooth. If it wasn't for this, I may have waited until next year. I could've taken the phone into Apple to get looked at, but I'm a procrastinator.

Because, I’m old and want to enjoy the good things in life in the years I have left.

I get a new phone every year, but aside from that, the camera and battery are really the only improvements that anybody can expect for the switch between XSMax and 11ProMax.
1200 nit brightness is a big plus too.

Main reason...Apple is giving me $600 for my xs max. So phones only $500. Cancel the Apple care on my xs max then Apple care should I decide to get it for the pro max only $100. If I don’t get it then the phone only cost me $400. Then next year when hopefully they go back to the iPhone 4 design I get $600 back for the pro max and do the cycle all over again. Same thing as carrier payments or iup in the long run, just larger up front payment. But I own the phone and have no payments to make.

Second reason, battery life. While the xs max has great battery life, the rumored 5 hours more is that much better.

Third reason, I’m off work currently waiting for surgery. I literally have nothing better to do.

Fourth and final reason, I’ve preordered every other iPhone starting with the iPhone 4, might as well keep the streak alive.

I remember when the iPhone 4 was £499 with no trade in brand new.

How times have changed.

Mainly, because I’m in the Apple Upgrade Program and upgrade every year. Also, it’s nice to get the newest phone every year with a fresh battery, new features and other improvements.

I've upgraded every year since the 3GS and will continue to. I have the XS Max 512gb at the moment and I love it, even the battery health is still at 99% and it gets used pretty heavily.

For me I just love new tech to play with, and I always want to have the fastest CPU/GPU in a phone as I do like to play games on it as well. Plus the new camera and large battery life boost is a very nice bonus. 11 Pro Max 512gb on it's way for launch day and can't wait to play with it :D

i have an XS Max and I am going to wait for reviews to see if 5+ hours more battery life and improved LTE are true if so then I'll upgrade. Those are the 2 main things important to me. The extra camera features are just a bonus.

Because my phone hasn't been cleaned since I got it a year ago and it's easier to just get a new one then cleaning it ha

Same reason my gym has an AirPods vending machine. Putting anything into your ear more than once is just gross.

1200 nit brightness is a big plus too.

It's 800 nits sustained brightness (e.g. using outdoors) and 1200 nits peak brightness (e.g. bright scene in a video)

You all suck and convinced me to upgrade. haha

What actually convinced me was that I can get enough from Swappa (where I have sold for years) for my XS Max relative to the payoff on that phone that the difference was like $150 including tax. For something I use SO often, it's fine.

Also,
  • The extra battery lets me dump that wonderful but too heavy and big apple smart battery case
  • I am on a Next 30 plan and was able to do the 24 plan via Best Buy for very little extra a month (as I dropped to 256GB)
  • Next year I won't have to deal with any of this and can just upgrade by handing it in
I just hope I can figure out that data transfer mode because I don't use icloud drive for backups due to having so much stuff.

Let's not fool ourselves here though. The camera update is marginal at best (aside from front camera; that's nice). At WWDC they showed that the XS/XR/iPad Pros can also record from multiple cameras at once, the camera lenses have barely changed, and they're all only still 12 megapixels. The super wide is really nice, but this is not groundbreaking stuff.

But for $150, yes. Sure. :)

Some people will always buy the newest iPhone even if it costs $2000 and the only improvement is that its display has 1 more pixel. All that matters to them is that they have the newest and best iPhone.

I am not. This is the first year that I am staying on the sidelines.

Just over the hype, and the kids are grown and buying their own phones now, no longer the need to upgrand and then hand them down.

IMO, there is nothing compelling in the iPhone 11 (any model) to warrant spending $1250 and disposing of last year’s $1250 expenditure.

Daayyyum as a Note 10 Plus owner, you guys have made such good statements you are tempting me to get an 11 Pro Max just to try it vs a Note 10 Plus.

In so many replies, No one has mentioned,

A. Better Call quality signal reception with Qualcomm Radio stack and chips
B. Better speakers and sound
C. “Slofies”
D. Better Video
E. $1,100 64GB (so yeah)
