Facebook for iPad Going Live with Updated Universal App for iOS

are there any working html5 games yet btw? so far its pretty useless, i dont need facebook to tell me what games i have installed and i can go to the appstore myself, i dont need facebook for that. i understood something else when they announced "Play Games"
 
Any update with more features is a welcome one... be happy, at least it isn't the Facebook app that us poor Android users like myself have... it's literally horrible. I'm going to do my best to get my hands on a 4S this coming weekend so it'll be nice to change that, but as long as this is better than the Android app, and honestly, there's no way it can be worse, than I'll be a happy camper 😛
 
Looks like this is an issue unique to the iPhone 4 guys - everyone who updates the app on their iPhone 4 appears to be having the exact same issue with their phones ending up on endless reboot cycles.

Can anyone confirm they have had no issues on an iPhone 4 after updating this app?

app works just fine on my iPhone 4 - 16 GB - GSM - iOS5

Feed Filters?

I noticed that right away. There's no Newsfeed Filters or Lists. It's weird because in the App Store the pictures of the interface for the iPhone version show a filter "All Stories". Perhaps they'll add it soon. 🙄

(Edit) Newsfeed filters are available after updating to iOS 5.

IPhone 4 black 16GB iOS 5, updated an already installed FB app, no issue.

Ipad 2 either.

No, Doesn't know installed apps.

Instagram, mapmyrun show on iPad and they aren't.

Links goto free phone editions of mapmyrun and words with friends, and i have paid no-ad versions.

Its completely broken and useless.

Same here. Someone liked my status but I didn't get a notification for it until i opened the app itself. I'm waiting to see if it'll work if someone comments on a post or posts to my wall to jump-start the notifications. C'mon facebook!!
 
Meh... Seems like the only thing it's got over using a browser is photo uploads, but only as a "mobile upload." You can't even create or upload to albums. Hopefully they'll roll out more features soon, but for now I'll mostly stick to the web.

Edit: Scratch that, you can upload to albums, but not create new ones. That does make it more useful to me!

I can't seem to figure out how to post a comment with the new Facebook on my iPad 2. When I go to a post on my Wall, I select Comment. Type in my text, but there is no way to submit it. You can only press RETURN and that just adds a line feed? What am I missing? I am running iOS 5 on my iPad 2.

The Facebook app isn't iOS 5 compatible.

You have to dock the keyboard to the bottom.
 
Not working on my iPhone 4. Just the blue loading screen and status wheel spinning. Maybe because I'm jail broken? I seem to remember Facebook having a previous update that wouldn't work on a jail broken phone.

LOL, so we'll soon have another epic disaster of an update beyond this one. They've set the bar high in bricking people's phones but I'm sure they'll manage to pull something out of the bag to eclipse it. 😉

ive got a jailbroken iphone 4 and works just fine..i deleted the facebook app i had and then just redownloaded it from the appstore...ive had a jailbroken phone for 3 years never had a prob with facebook not working on it because it was jailbroken
 
iPad = kept crashing me out without even opening up really
iPhone 4 = was stuck with the radial dial spinning endlessly

Solution = delete the apps from the device and re-download.

Both work perfectly now.

i dont have an ipad but that worked great for me too on my iphone 4

Click the three lines at the top then scroll down to chat. BAM!



edit: I had the blue screen 'hang' the first time I loaded the app. Had to restart my phone twice before the stupid app would load. Works fine now.

Unbroken 3GS here and same issue..

Can you imagine if this issue appeared in iOS5? iCloud syncing would put everything into a mess if it auto-syncs the updates across to the other devices.
