Screen won't rotate in new app

Just downloaded the new FB app. When I tilt my iPhone (4s) the screen does not rotate. It's like the orientation is locked (but it's not). Other apps rotate fine. Anyone else see this issue? 😱

Apple get money from the user for their products.
FB get money from corporate for information volunteered from user.

Well, clearly this new major update has finally quench most peoples' hopes for a new, faster Facebook app as previous versions of it had disappointed many until they have to resort to third party app to make their social networking life a more delightful experience.

Personally, after exploring the layout n the functions of the new Facebook app, it is indeed faster, especially on the iPad. If you have an iPad, well, definitely the Facebook experience is much more noticeable than on the iPhone.

I'm truly impressed with this update. Therefore, I would rate it 4.5 out of 5. The reason I won't give higher than 4.5 is because, like some people mentioned here, there is still room for improvement for its sharing feature.

If you go into one of your own photos on the new FB app and tap and hold, it gives you the option to "Make Profile Picture".

Never mind - Not the same thing you were referring to...

u can change the "Cover Photo". thats what the big fat camera icon over the cover on your profil is for 😉

Is it just me, or is the only purpose of English grammar class to prevent the language from evolving? Whatever sounds best should be valid grammar. I'm probably the best in my class (including the teacher) with English grammar, and I think it's useless.

Indians and Chinese? Isn't it common knowledge that civilization started in the Fertile Crescent, around modern day Iraq? And I don't see what this has to do with intelligence. For example, I invented cassette tapes many years after someone else did before I knew how they worked, and if you asked someone, they would credit the original inventor more just because he did it first. It's not my fault I wasn't born back then.

Looks like they took the multiple accounts save out of the iPad version. Nice update, and understand it is basically a brand new app, but hope this feature makes a return.

Please. The "fat stupid Americans" quote was first, it was uncalled for, and was reacted to. The Brits started this fight, the Americans just like to win fights. 😀

I am going to stay out of any actual fighting over this, I honestly don't care that much. I haven't even opened the new Facebook app now that I've updated yet, but I'm sure I will be in it often.

And so on and on and on. I'm sorry but when it comes to obesity and absolutely fat ridden sugar stuffed unhealthy food, America invented it. And I did not state ALL Americans were obese, but the report above last year stated a third of Americans were?

Well, I could say as much as I trust my bank? But I don't have a choice but to trust a bank really. I would trust it a bit more if they actually publicly accepted it's responsibility in a big way for the lack in security following that tech journalists breach, and then announce in a big public way the measures taken to ensure it doesn't happen again, but instead we got a few news reports on the net and then absolutely nothing!

But, if Facebook is happy enough to release an updated app, why does it need to even offer integration at all in the first place? Is it paying Apple a ton of money? I don't see the reason behind it?

This is excellent, but they removed a couple features! You can't download photos to your phone anymore, for one.

Yes you can. Just longpress on the picture after it opens in full screen. Took me all of 2 seconds to figure out, since I often save funny pics, haha 😉

Another alternative: take a screen shot.

I've never seen that before (and I like posting after the fact and hate that it gets date stamped as "now").

I see it's available if you post a status update via the timeline vs. the regular newsfeed. Also just noticed the sliding + to add an event visually at the certain point in the timeline.

Washington was born in Virginia; as was his father and grandfather. He was a Colonial American before he was Commander-In-Chief of the Continental Army which was before he was The First President of the United States of America. Washington's ancestors were from both England and Germany. Furthermore, The Kingdom of Great Britain wasn't established until 1707. George Washington's immigrant ancestor and great-grandfather John Washington immigrated to the Colony of Virginia from England in 1656.

Clearly, George Washington was never a Brit. So please never repeat that for as long as you live.

You made a crack about americans being fat. I was just pointing out that the country you're in is also having an obesity epidemic. So do I want to point out your hypocrisy? Yeah, I do.

And again, your comment has absolutely nothing specific to the USA. This app is available in the UK along with many other countries, if it's contributing to an obesity problem (which is frankly a stupid claim to make anyway), it's doing it everywhere.
