Didn't we just land on Mars and win the most medals at the Olympics?

Actually, this is like the 3rd Mars Rover up there from the USA.

And yea, America tends to win the most medals at every Olympics.

In fact, some foreign Olympians come to the USA to train also.

The whole world is just jealous of us.

Pimpin' ain't easy!

Thank you Apple, since it's obvious they told them to make these changes when they made the iOS/Mountain Lion deals haha

Wow, I didn't think we'd see an update until iOS 6. Much faster so far. Facebook was getting so slow that when an alert popped up I would get out my MacBook and load Facebook there. Half the time I'd get an alert and when I'd open Facebook on my iPhone there would be no notification in the app. The push notifications seemed to be about 5 minutes ahead of the app actually displaying the new info. Hope that's fixed now.

It's way faster but landscape mode is disabled which i always use for typing and when you try to sort by most recent instead of top stories, it doesn't let you switch it. How do you overlook those two things?

Hmmmm...I thought the iPhone and most things mac were designed by a Brit and the chips are designed by a British company! Anyway I don't know why these posts descend into anti-American or anti-European abuse. There is NO need for it.
The Facebook app is faster. The previous version was unusable.

Thank but no thanks.

I prefer the bookmark to the mobile safari browser version much. Landscape / portrait, cover photo nada nada.

This is the first version of the FB app that I have not wanted to quit after 10 seconds of launching it.
It's pretty fast on the iPhone and iPad on WiFi, anyway.

Didn't the guy that created the original app quit doing apps and made it public that he hated the Apple Q/A process? And all along, he was just doing HTML code in an iOS app container.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha --- with a GIANT Samsung logo on the front of it hahahahahahahah

You sir made me laugh out loud with that one :D:D:D

You're not quite as smart as you seem to think you are.

Just hold your finger on the photo like a web page image, you can save that way as normal.

You can save to camera roll just fine. Prior poster is incompetent.
Yes, you're right. However, you still can't change cover photos or create blank albums so that every time you take a new photo it doesn't end up in the "mobile uploads" bottomless pit album.

and when you try to sort by most recent instead of top stories, it doesn't let you switch it. How do you overlook those two things?

Mine does. Tap sort, move to most recent, tap done. Switching between the two definitely changes from the most recent to the useless top stories (with everything in a random order).

It is faster. Much much faster. The HTML 5 version was too slow for an iPhone app. Some HTML 5 tech should be used in the iPhone app but overall the experience was very very slow on 3G devices. On 4G devices it makes no difference.

We shouldn't skirt the importance of advertising money in this release. Facebook has been having trouble generating substantial advertising revenue on the mobile platform, making a redesign more urgent. I'm curious as to how they've changed their application in order to help garner more income for the company and stockholders. :apple:

They haven't and that's their problem. They just lost their Design Manager, Director of Platform Partnerships, Platform Marketing Director, and Mobile Platform Marketing Manager. They have no clue how to monetize the mobile platform yet and it's becoming 60% of people accessing Facebook.

Once they figure out how to make money on mobile, they'll bother updating the app. Until then, why bother with it. Make people more likely to sign in through their browser where they can make money by providing a crappy app experience.

Yes, you're right. However, you still can't change cover photos or create blank albums so that every time you take a new photo it doesn't end up in the "mobile uploads" bottomless pit album.

You can put a photo in another album, by going to your profile, photos, into the album then tap the "+".
But yeah no way to create a new album. I thought it had that feature previously!
