One thing that is a bit disappointing, and increases the grind is the new treasury note/gold bullion economy. So, you want a full set of the new top tier secret service armor, fine. The entire set plus mods will run you about 9,000 gold bullion. Want that cool jetpack, that you don't need power armor, that will run you an additional 2,000 gold. You will need the chest piece which costs 1250 gold (without mods), so a minimum you will be paying 3250 for the jetpack.

Oh, I almost forgot, you need to buy a legendary modular from the purveyor at 50 legendary script for each armor piece (legs/arms/chest).

Doing events and/or dailys will net you about 3 treasury notes for each, which translates to 30 gold bullion (1 note - 10 gold bullion).

The only thing that I've yet to do is the final main quest of dropping the nukes. I'll probably take a break with this game and move on to something else for a bit. Its still a lot of fun, and I'm enjoying it, but I'm not sure I want to just grind for gold.

The new seasons that they introduced is a plus but its a side benefit of playing not a major focus for me.
Would you say the monetization of F76 has gone overboard?

The gold bullion and legendary scrip economies are not monetizations, the goal for both, is to get players to continue to play and grind. The only monetization is the atom shop

Thanks for clarifying. I’m grind sensitive. 😬
I can’t but help wonder what the next Fallout game is going to look like.

But will that be a Fallout game or a completely new game? Maybe they feel like Fallout is played out?
Starfield is the next game in the docket and it will not be a fallout-esq type of game, then the next edition of Skyrim, then maybe after that we'll see another fallout game. We're probably looking at least 5+ years from now.

Until F4 introduced building in settlements I felt that the game structure between Elder Scrolls and Falloit was similar. Now I assume the next Skyrim game will not have settlements but be more like the traditional Elder Scrolls set up. I’ll be interested to see how close Starfield is to these other games.

I've enjoyed Skyrim, it seems to have so much more then FO4, but in all honesty, its not a game that I feel like I can come back to. I've played through it a number of times, but lately, I'll start it and just stop playing. Where as FO4, can start it, and just keep going until the end.

Somehow I feel more immersed in F4 and I can play it over and over. Compared to Skyrim, I am more drawn to rebuilding the Commonwealth, and building, taking care of the Settlements. In Skyrim I travelled from town to town doing quests but never really felt connected to those towns in the same way even though I had a player home or two. :)

Here's a cool shot of the nuke going off with me in my power armor. I have more powerful PA, but for a couple of reasons, I really do like my excavator armor which has a custom paint job, thanks to the atom shop ;)

I'm so close to the jet pack, I already purchased the secret service chest armor, I've been grinding for the jet pack at 2,000 bullion, I'm only 400 shy, which by my calculations puts me a week away from buying. I'll have enough by this time next Sunday. That hardest part (aside from the grind), is getting the stable flux, which only is available in nuked areas in its RAW form (And you have to craft it to stable), or as a product drop. I now have enough of that stuff for the jetpack and also this decontamination shower, this will save my radaway since I only need to fast travel to my camp to get rid of my rads.

I'm farming enough water to generate about 1,000 caps a day, though once I'm done grinding, I'll probably slow that down.

How far can you fly in the jet pack? Does it rely on fuel?

Its like the jetpack on your power armor in fallout 4. Its based on your action points, the higher amount of AP, the longer you can go.

I struggled at getting the stable flux, and resorting with buying/trading with players for the remainder. This is where Bethesda made the grinding too grindy. Stable flux is only dropped when doing the scorched earth quest (final event fighting the scorched queen). You can craft stable flux from certain irradiated plants (where a nuke dropped) and depending on what type of flux you need, and where the nuke was dropped, you could be in a situation where you never get a specific flux

You also need to kill certain irradiated creatures to get other ingredients needed to craft stable flux. As you can imagine, it seems near impossible to get all that you need.

As mentioned I have now enough stable flux and I'm just waiting to get enough gold bullion.

I wonder if I'll take a break once I have the jetpack, since this has been a goal of mine for some time. New content is on the horizon (BOS re-introduction to Appalachia), so I should be in good position character-wise for that.

Whelp, I achieved it, I got the SS jetpack. I was lucky the past few days to complete some public events that rewarded me treasury notes, and I found a couple of daily events that did the same, and it was enough to push me over the edge of 2,000 gold bullion.

The jetpack is a mod for the Secret Service Armor (1,250 gold bullion), and it looks nice, even with my backpack (extra carrying capability). As mentioned it works off of AP, and since my agility is 9, that should be enough/ to allow me to hop to places I could normally go

I may switch back to FO4, or grind for the other secret service armor pieces, I'm at a point where the only reason to have power armor is because of my 50 cal is much more accurate. That being the case, I may move SPECIAL points out of strength and put them in areas that will further protect or enhance a non-power armor build.

Congrats! That looks a lot less bulky than I imagined it to be. Now what do you use it for? I imagine navigating vertical landscape or escaping bad situations. :)

It seems mostly to get up hilly/mountainous locations. Instead of having to move all the way around a mountain for the path up, you can up from rock to rock. I have an agility of 9, and it doesn't give me as much thrust as I thought it would. I see a lot of people using it for setting up a sniper location on top of a pole, or roof. I'll probably look for some legendary items or perks that could possibly help me.

Bethesda limits your SPECIAL in Fo76m you no longer get points after level 50 (you can take a point from one SPECIAL and add it to another at that point). The most points in total you can have is 56, So for instance, you can have 14 S, P and E, but then you only have 14 points to spread around for C, I, A and L.

Here's what I have, mostly geared towards a power armor build, but with Perception fairly high, its fairly decent with the rifle. Nothing seems to beat the 50 cal, however. Ammo is fairly cheap to create and it does a lot of damage.

In other news, I got my Legendary Colossal Wendago. This is a new legendary creature added by the Wastelanders DLC. It only has a 6% chance of spawning in certain nuke locations. It was one difficult creature to take down, took more work then the scorchbeast queen. It also created over and over glowing "baby" Wendagos that were hard to kill. Another new feature was that it was shoot or scream, and everyone would suddenly start running away scared. You had no choice, your charachter suddenly turns tail and runs away - really odd. Still, I can notch this off as an accomplishment :) I play solo, but I join in with others for the scorched earth event (And other events), this is was one where 6 to 8 of us, spent a solid 10+ minutes shooting at him to take him down

Gross! Lol. :)
Involuntardily running away is when the developer instills involuntary fear or panic in your character. I can’t give the name of the game I first saw this in.

Btw, I was wrong regarding jetpack fuel. I guess it runs on Fusion Cores. I picked up the power user perk card and that will prolong the fusion cores 30% (at rank 1). I have so many fusion cores, it probably doesn't matter. I have 40+ that are at 100% and probably about 20 of varying levels of capacity, that I've picked up in my travels. I'm never in want for a fusion core.

Its also double xp weekend, and I'm leveling up several times a day, I was able to level up twice in the Line the Sand Event and Scorched Earth Event given the high amount of creatures to kill.

I'm rather shocked but now I'm over level 100  I'm not trying to sound gloaty or anything, quite the opposite - at this point XP and levelsing up means so little. I've long stopped getting SPECIAL points and the I have my fill of what perk cards are best for my character. I can use my level up "points" to move one SPECIAL point to another, OR pick a new perk card.

Since removing 1 point from Strength, or perception to add to luck or agility has some very real repercussions, I don't.

Power Armor - this is one area that I find as you move up in levels becomes less and less important. So much so, I may very well steal points out of Strength and move them somewhere else. With the exception of the excavator PA, none of the other Power Armor increases your carry weight, you can add a mod, that gives you +10 (I think), but overall there's no carry weight buff. Now throw in non-powered armor that is legendary and/or pocketed and you lose perks when using PA. For instance, my non-powered armor equipped my carry weight is 315, when I put on my T-60 my carrying capacity drops to 220. Now I'm carrying two heavy guns, ammo, and everything else, I'm loaded up at 230, I'm already overweight and cannot run. The excavator armor is the only one that adds carry capacity but there are a lot fewer mods for that, and its damage protection is less then what my current armor currently has.

The only advantage to the PA is radiation protection (for now), and heavy weapons. Thanks to the stabilized perk card, my heavy guns are a lot more accurate.

This is why I may try to buff up other areas of my character and use the PA less and less.

My new CAMP,
I'm kind of liking how its setup. The red rocket garage is a prefab from the atom shop, and I put a small structure next to it. Gives me a Fallout 4 vibe :)

Have you run into a situation on a public server where your spot is occupied?
Quite often, and it takes me a few jumps to either get a new server (it keeps trying the same server) or a server that has the location unoccupied.

I'm right outside the charleston station, and that can be a somewhat popular location. I'm looking for a more out of the way location, but so far nothing jumps out.

Edit:
Looks like I cannot get on a server where there is a spot for my CAMP :( I jinxed myself. It seems that no matter how many times, I click on find another server when the warning message appears, I'm landing on the same server. I'm at a point where maybe I need to find an out of the place location. I like the idea of being near a train station simply because I can quickly run over there and sell my excess supplies, like water.
