Hoping for who to pick up the gun and why? I may have missed this part!

I think he meant when the blonde lead, forget her name, was walking around the city she saw a gun on the ground.

That is correct. When she went outside the gated safe zone. There was a male lying next to car with a handgun next to him. It was before the soldiers came down the street and she hid underneath the car.

Loved tonight's episode. Stuff is hitting the fan quickly now.

I love how characters are being defined. Madison and Daniel clearly in the "Shane" mold, and Travis and Ofelia more like "Dales", with Alecia and the rest somewhere in the middle.

Griselda's speech was excellent. Was she addressing God or someone else?

You and me both. This episode was pretty amp'ed up. I think I am more curious about our friend who is on the inside with Nick. In the beginning I couldn't tell if he was working for the Military, but now he is a man who is out for himself. Very interesting character they have brought in.

The scenes with Daniel and the soldier. Eeek..... I really like his character. Especially when he broke down emotionally in the kitchen while talking to Madison.

Yeah, he was a very interesting add. I referred to him as the anti-Gabriel. He knows exactly what he needs to do to survive with other people around him.

That is a great way of putting. I like his little comment about the air miles and coffee drinkers, or something along those lines.....

I can't wait to see how they end this run.

Oh I also liked how our troops took out the Lt! Oh, sorry the un-dead folks took him out! :D

I enjoyed the finale as well.

Was surprised to hear Travis' native accent on Talking Dead!
I didn't see that. What's with American tv shows and hiring foreigners for all our shows lately? Hope trump does something about this.

Finale was certainly better then the rest of the season but still not a great show for me. Bringing all those walkers to the compound. Just another dumb move. Magically, they knew that they could hide from the walkers, that the people held prisoners could, too and only the soldiers would be in danger? Plus, we saw that move in 28 days later already.

I enjoyed the season finale. I asked the wife who she thought was going to die on the episode and she called it. Was sad to see her go, but....

I think it would be kind of cool if they make out the new character to be one of the main characters later on down the road in TWD. Since we don't know a whole lot about Ezekiel, I could so see this new guy as him. He has the swagger and tone of what I pictured Ezekiel to be like. Of course there is a limited back story on Ezekiel, but that doesn't mean they can't put their own spin on it! Just dreaming out loud.

I was thinking this very thing. Like somehow have one or even some of those character carry over to TWD with significant progression after we finish learning about them. But I think I read somewhere that the writers didn't want to do that. One at the very least would be great in my opinion. I just wonder how many seasons FTWD could last without being overshadowed by TWD. Maybe 3 seasons? Then the merger after Abigail sets sail and lands on the east coast?

Did anybody else catch the Fear the Talking after the season finale? Chris brought up a funny, but made you think about it point, what if the female lead is related to one of the other stars in TWD (He mentions Rick)! I know far fetched. But it made me think. I didn't catch it but in the show, on occasion she had a southern drawl, so that could be interesting. The producer who was the guest on the show, had the look of "ummmm".. when Chris said that.

I am looking forward to season two.

The season finale was more than I hoped for. Overall I'm very pleased with the story arc, and from a story perspective, I'm happy that living in the quarenteened neighborhood was short lived. I thought going West was brilliant and Abigale! Poignant and sad ending for a major character.

The military was portrayed negatively, but alas, they are people too facing the end of civilization as we know it. I question whether you'd be able to rely on a group of soldiers to follow orders and exterminate a neighborhood of innocent civilians? I think not. I know the rational they are all going to die and turn could be used, but I still don't buy it. The way the story unfolded, we will never know as Salizar turned loose a horde of walkers from the stadium to assist in their escape disrupting the Army's plan and I won't forget Madison telling Travis "you'd do what you have to do to protect your boy"- dog eat dog, survival morality. Have not decided if Victor Strand is a good or bad guy. And I find Daniel Salizar's history to be very interesting.

Great stuff to keep me hooked. :)

Season 2 looks to be off to a good start. The mystery of "Jack" is going to be their first bit of conflict it would seem. Strand gives off a good Rick like vibe and seems to be mentally prepared and tough from the start while everyone else is no where near that mentality...except maybe Daniel.

I'm interested to see how Flight 462 will integrate and if anyone else alongside the guy and girl will survive.

I liked the firebimbing of LA. We know it happened in Atlanta as well, but didn't get to live it.

The sheer amount of bullet holes in the sunken ship was insane. If that's Jack's handiwork, can't wait to meet him.

The radio communication ties in nicely to what's going on in the comic books with Eugene now.

The at sea setting is awesome so far. You'd think it'd be really restrictive, but the Jack dynamic is creative. I really hope they stay on the water for at least this season, even if they do some island hopping.

I can see the end of the season / a story arc where they realize they can't live at sea anymore, and they have to traverse into the mainland once more, to find a significantly more terrifying landscape since when they left it.

I too hope they spend majority of their time on water. In the sneak preview for next week they are already back on land, so hopefully it's short lived.

If somehow any of characters from TWD & FTWD don't cross paths, I hope maybe they at least show a parallel of what's going in Georgia while Rick is in his coma and how the outbreak reaches the east coast!

Abigail, thumbs up. Burning L.A., impressive. Strand was spot on "We can't help them. If I stop the boat, it's to take people off, not take them on... Survival morality. Bullet holes in capsized boat, rogue Navy frigate or Navy under orders?
Great start of Season 2.

I thought the season opener was pretty darn good too with the apocalyptic burning of L.A. in the distance being viewed from off shore.

Who knew zombies could swim? haha

WAIT-A-MINUTE, what animates dead tissue? How can a dead brain drive the dead tissue to find food? Why would sticking a knife in dead tissue make a difference, even the brain? And zombies don't seem to need food to keep going, yet they crave it so. You'd think someone, like the CDC (featured in TWD) would be studying the animation mechanism.

... ...

Sorry for that rational lapse. :D I love these stories, but I give credit to the other stories were instead of dealing with zombies, they actually have some plausible mechanism, like rage syndrome (28 Days later).

I've pondered that before, but re-engaged my suspension of disbelief.
