If you bought these you likely already have a USB-A adapter.
Apple should have included a USB-A adapters with the MacBook and new MacBook pros. Just like they bundled the headphone adapter with the iPhone 7.
Are you saying the complaints from the people who hadn't tried them yet should be disregarded?! How can this be?! I thought they were utter trash because people here said so. /sI managed to get a pair from the Apple Store in Broadway in Sydney and have been testing them out for the last 15 mins.
Fit: Fits perfectly and there are no issues of them falling out. It just sat in my ear as I wandered around the house. They almost feel like they're not there cos they're so light.
Charging case: Standard Apple white plastic. Magnetic closure and snaps close very satisfyingly. The AirPods themselves also magnetically snap into their slots.
Sound: They do sound a bit clearer and better than the standard EarPods. I'm no audiophile but I'm very happy with the sound quality.
Connection: Took less than 5 seconds on the iPhone 7 plus. Opened the case and they automatically appeared on the phone screen. Opened my MacBook Pro and they showed up in less than 5 seconds under the bluetooth tab.
Transition between iPhone and MacBook:
Had music playing on the iPhone. Turned on the music on the MacBook and the music in the AirPods automatically stops. MB music plays through the speakers and doesn't automatically play in the AirPods though. You have to physically select AirPods in the bluetooth tab.
Opened the music app on the iPhone and the message "Looks like you're listening music on another device. To resume listening here, just press play". I did and the music from the iPhone came back into the AirPods.
Overall very happy with the purchase. I'm most satisfied with the simple connection and transition, and the fact that they fit perfectly with no risk of falling out.

If you're anywhere close to an Apple Store I'd recommend trying to buy them in store. Some of our Aussie friends had good experiences doing that.
Because people may already have their MacBook/MacBook Pro with them.
Why should they need to carry a separate power adaptor with them?
As shown with their new MacBook Pros Apple has decided that USB-C is the way to go (when they made a MBP with 4 ports and no USB-A ports), if they continue to ship produces with non-USB-C charging cables they are sending a little bit of a mixed signal.

Similar to your previous comment about EarPods...I find silicon earbuds very uncomfortable and thus they must be the worst designed earphones ever made for all people and ears.

Can't plug any of the phones Apple released this year or the wireless earphones into the latest Macbooks without buying and extra cable. What an awful mess.
A mess? Sounds like you don't have a single (none, zero, zip) USB A wall charger around anywhere. Astonished.
All they need is power. Not like they're communicating with the charging source. And of course a tiny slim inline $4 adapter solves the problem for the one or two people who do not have a single USB wall charger in the house.
This is not about individual preferences. Soft silicone can't hurt as much as hard plastic, that's a scientific fact.
Gotta feel sorry for the people that have $1500+ computers and $160 AirPods and can't afford an adapter to connect the two. So sad....
It's now clear from all the reviews that these AirPods truly are incredible with amazing sound. I cannot wait to get mine tomorrow. The technology that Apple has built into these devices is astonishingly good, and the bluetooth pairing pain is finally over for all of us!!!
Anyone who hesitated in ordering last week must surely now know they have made a mistake, because demand for AirPods is off-the-charts already with 2 month wait times on new orders.

The mess is the i/o on the hardware Apple released this year. Phone that can't be plugged into the laptops they released a month later without an additional cable. No congruence whatsoever. Laptops that are all USB C, literally everything else they ship comes bundled with USB A cables

Or the company with $200 billion in cash knocking about that regularly dishes out sermons about user experience that are too stingy to provide the cable. All a matter of perspective.
I read that someone spoke to a Genius and they said you can place a pickup order starting at 12am. Not sure how much trust to put in that, but I'll try.
I really doubt it, I checked this morning and it never gave that option. Only Feburary Delivery. I'm glad i went to the store early today
I doubt it will get 10 hours of battery life. Maybe think next time you decide to comment.
