That doesnt stop them providing both cables. They should've done it with the MacBooks, Google did when they released the Pixel C. Just makes it an easier transition for the user.
?? Why does anyone need to charge their earpods on their MBP? They inherently have better options. They definitely shouldnt have included 2 cables, that's crazy. An option, perhaps but not 2.. Then 95% of people would end up with a wasted cable. Apple don't like doing that.

Even new mbp users have use for a USB-A lightning cable. Nobody without a MBP currently has any use for a USB-C lightning cable.

I'll give this a try because it is the only true wireless headphone that doesn't use some sort of soft ear tips.

Or you can do what I did. I had a friend in Australia buy them this morning. He shipped them 3 day air around the world counter clockwise so I received them last Friday. Been listening all weekend.:p:Do_O

No you haven't. They were only released this morning, Monday, Australian time. There's no way you'd have them anywhere the world for this weekend just gone.

Well, $159 USD is exactly $212 CAD right now, without any forex fee on a purchase. $7 difference really shouldn't be surprising.

This post is from the future.

I don't mean to suggest that it's not a fair currency translation, but it just never hit me exactly how expensive these things are!

They're AWESOME!!

It's Monday morning in New Zealand and Australia, which means the first customers who placed orders for Apple's new AirPods have begun receiving them according to reports from MacRumors readers.

Deliveries are taking place across the two countries now, and Apple retail stores in Australia have also begun selling AirPods to customers.

In Australia, people who were hoping to get AirPods in store lined up early ahead of store openings, and as expected, supplies have been somewhat limited. At some stores, only a handful of AirPods were available, while others appear to have gotten more stock.

Customers who have received their EarPods are so far pleased with them. MacRumors reader Jason was impressed with how easy they were to sync and the sound quality. We'll have more first impressions a bit later as more customers receive their orders.

Based on early information coming from Australia, customers in Asia, the United Kingdom, and the United States will likely want to get to Apple retail locations before they open for the best shot at getting a set on launch day.

Apple has said retail stores will receive regular stock going forward, and third-party retailers like Best Buy are also going to be receiving AirPods stock starting tomorrow.

AirPods orders in other countries will begin arriving as Monday morning arrives. For customers who were not able to pre-order, purchasing AirPods in the store will be the only way to get them before January, as orders placed today will not ship out for six weeks in many countries.

First thing you want to do is take a fine tip marker and personalize them so someone doesn't swipe them when they lost one and say they are theirs.
If you think that may be a problem you might want to put some thought into where you leave them 'cause a fine tip marker ain't do crap in identifying your gear if it gets rubbed off.

Fair enough. It's actually a good price, considering what you're getting. Other true wireless buds are hard to find and much more expensive, and lack the most important features that the W1 brings as well.

Super comfortable.

... and cheap on eBay.

I wouldn't want in-ear headphones without silicon buds for free.
It's weird people are dissing this design as it's seemingly an exact replica of the official Apple in ear headphones of a couple of years ago. My one's remote has non rounded edges, and mine were bought directly from Apple ages ago, but Apple did revise the design slightly (according to their official images on Apple.com, they rounded the control like yours) so maybe they changed the packaging at the same time? Has anyone bought any directly from Apple recently?

- Is the packaging mine came in - These are some of my favourite earbuds too. Earpods fall out of my ears, these are much better at blocking outside noise and have much, much better bass reproduction.

Every pair of Earpods I've got since are sitting in a drawer... They're audibly and ergonomically (for me) inferior to the earpods - hence Apple still selling them, and them still being much more expensive. $79 instead of the Earpod's $29

Now that I've listened to them for a few hours I have to say the sound quality for music is WAY better than I anticipated. Satisfying bass thump, clear highs and mids. I haven't listened to the EarPods in years, but this is much better than I remember them to be.

For comparison, my main headphones are the B&O H6, which are the best headphones I've ever tried. I was expecting these to be solely for podcasts like I mainly use my Backbeat Fits, but I am genuinely enjoying listening to music on these.

How are they in noisy conditions like walking around where there is a lot of traffic?
Past Bluetooth headsets I had, some were not loud at all.
I found the Plantronics Backbeats to be the best I have used in the past.
TIA

Actually, it does. They have a fiduciary responsibility to shareholders to maximize profit. That means not including what would be an extra part for 97% of users at no cost, or charging the 97% for that same extra part and losing sales because of an obvious upcharge that is useless.

I've had these for a couple of hours. They fit perfectly. But I must look like an idiot to my colleagues because I keep shaking my head side to side; I enjoy so much that I can turn my head and not have a wire or microphone catch on my collar. So much freedom, I feel like crying. :D

Uh wrong. Where have you been? We've long known about flying counter clockwise to travel negatively through time. Copernicus proved this definitively in 1540. His experiments were validated in 1718 by Sir Isaac Newton and most recently replicated by Sheldon Cooper in 2014. These are facts. No one denies this. You should educate yourself. I suggest starting with the works of Nathan Poe and his law and following up with an in depth read of the Unicode section dealing with emoji.

orders not shipping out for six weeks, yet u can get them in store ?

Sounds more of a bargain to get u in the store.. I am happy with what i have....

Obviously something needs to be done. This negativity is no longer an outpouring of ocassional frustration, it's the new norm. A lot of it is irrational.

Off topic, but are you the same R3k who made the fly by night mix?

Does a single tap do anything? Or is a double tap the only control that can be switched from Siri to stop/pause?

.Still can't wait. Hoping for Tuesday delivery instead of Wednesday!
I'm hoping for Monday delivery. I'm in phoenix too and mine are at the TN hub right now.

Why do you have to plug them in from the bottom of the box to charge them? Can't that box freestand?
Oh, right, this product is from the guys who brought you this:

Here's to hoping us orders start showing up tomorrow. I have a delivery date of the 20th, but tracking shows the departed Memphis tn at 507am. That's about 11 hours away from me. Gives enough time for them to get here tomorrow lol. I highly doubt it'll happen but here's to hoping!
I agree. Seems like our first wave orders should deliver same day as in store. Mine still shows the 20th though.
