Probably get better battery life than our new MacBook Pros...
Mine is ok, maybe your's is damaged?

Do I see USB-A only? Com'on Apple, if you play your (very unwise, to put it diplomatically) games with connectors, at least be so polite to your customers that you provide cables compatible with all your bloody products!
Stop it

Ok, so I received mine an hour ago and have spent most of that time on the phone to AppleCare. Mine basically don't work.

Only one will connect at a time and the other will continuously connect and disconnect and never do anything.

I assume I will be waiting weeks or months for a "mail in replacement" at this point as that seems to be my only recourse.

Others seem fine, so I guess I'm just unlucky.

I happened to be on holiday in Sydney. I went to their flagship store on George Street at 9.10 (not in any great rush, assuming I had at least all day) to find there were just two pairs left! They had sold out at 9.11.

I keep wanting to know this too! It has been asked multiple times but no answer...I guess waiting in line pre-opening it is tomorrow...

No in-store picks up in Aus at all. Will probably come in a few days. Same thing happened with the Series 2 Apple Watch. Best bet is the go to a store at open, or call first to see if they have any, and if they do, race down there!

Hope you're enjoying Sydney!
And hope you enjoy your AirPods (if you bought them).

That's unfortunate. Do you live near an Apple Store? If so, despite being out of stock of many popular items, the stores usually have a few in stock for replacements. That's what I was told when the iPhone 7 came out at the Chadstone store, what with the wait of about 3-4 weeks at one stage, they did have some stock outback in case someone brought in an unrepairable iPhone.

Well after using mine for only 10 mins so far I have to say im very impressed with the air pods so far. Im no audiophile by any means but to me they sound great. Goes quite loud to drown out any outside noise while still staying clear with no distortion. Bass is quite nice as well which is more then i was expecting. Super simple setup process with iphone and as soon as I connected it to my phone it also became available on my ipad and mac mini which is a very handy feature. From the quick listening session I didn't notice any sort of audio sync issues between the two headphones either. While some people will find the $229 price a bit steep I find it very good for the performance and features of them.

Can anyone advise if you can connect to two iPhone at the same time? Like a standard BT headset that has multiple connections? So if either rings you can answer the call...

About 40 people lined up in Brisbane CBD. People were grabbing 2-3 each and cleared the shelf. Fortunately there was a whole other shelf full of them.

Grabbed a pair, scanned and was out of there at 9:01.

Way more comfortable than I expected. Sounds good, at least for podcasts. Fits my ears perfectly. Will not fall out. Yes, even with headbanging.

Just needing to know did you shake your head frantically and wildly non linear and not in a safe manner like every other preview reviewer did?!

A mess? Sounds like you don't have a single (none, zero, zip) USB A wall charger around anywhere. Astonished.

All they need is power. Not like they're communicating with the charging source. And of course a tiny slim inline $4 adapter solves the problem for the one or two people who do not have a single USB wall charger in the house.

Yeah agreed. I have two of them one for my phone one for my iPad. At this point I have enough devices that plugging them all into my computer isn't the most elegant solution.

So oddly enough it sort of fits into the wireless scenario as the only plug going into my Mac is the charging cable. Try charging your stuff into a wall outlet or power strip. It is actually much nicer doing it this way. I think people just got into the habit of using their computers to do this. Especially when you had to do this to sync your phone.

As somebody said the charging plug came in the box with whatever last IOS device you bought. If you don't own an iPhone or iPad not sure why you would want these anyway?

Funny the hate these things are getting. They will sell out much to the chagrin of the haters. What is great about it is you will be able to spot them easily in the wild so look forward to these things popping up every where.

Hands on report from New Zealand:
These are awesome!
Connectivity is perfect, sound is great.

They definitely don't "fall out" as such.
I've always found that the old wired ones would work their way out of my ears, and then the wire would finish the job and pull them out. These start by working their way out a bit, but eventually they find a sweet spot where they can rest. (If you never had an issue with the old ones, these will be even better)

They are totally a whole new level of freedom. You can jump around, move around, no worries. No wires anywhere. Most of the time i completely forget I'm wearing them because I'm just enjoying the music.

I'm trying to get it sorted. They keep telling me not to try a walk in at this time of afternoon/night so I may go in the morning. Trying to get AppleCare to confirm stock as there is only 1 Apple Store in Adelaide.

I have to say...they do look lust worthy. Another great Apple design. Love the case. Sleek & functional. Wireless is the future. Both in headphones and charging. If I had one gripe...it'd be the lack of a way to raise or lower the volume without having to talk to SIRI or use your iPhone. You can double tap the air pods to stop and start or to take a call. But hopefully future updates will enable you to raise or lower the volume by sliding your finger down the stem of the air pod.

I totally agree on that, why would i want to talk to Siri while i'm listening to music?

If you're lucky enough to have an Apple Watch, the easy solution is to keep the volume controls in the watch Dock, and then its easy as. If not, yeah it's not ideal.

Gotta feel sorry for the people that have $1500+ computers and $160 AirPods and can't afford an adapter to connect the two. So sad....

Or possess the basic intellect to figure out an accessory like this is more suited to charging from the wall. I have a USB hub with 4 ports. Just because I could plug in my iPad, my iPhone and the Airpods into it all at once doesn't mean that is what I would do. If I do that I end up with a huge pile of cords. I am on a Rmb but even if you have the MBP with four ports why would you octopus it with iDevices?

One power strip which all of us have lying around solves the entire charging issue. Most of us probably already have this at their work station already. Apple seems to be in my opinion moving us away from the idea that anything that can be plugged into your computer should be plugged in to your computer. So everybody take a deep breath put one iota of thought into rearranging your power strip and make yourself a nifty little charging station on one side of your desk.

After that enjoy a computer that isn't completely overly tethered and free of cords. Right now for me this is the best solution and I have zero complaints about doing it this way.

Thank you for having sense. Sometimes I get worried that there's no one here but the whiners and the one-liners with the oh so hilarious dongle/watch band/courage jokes. It's like some of these people are extremely spoiled and either don't remember or never experienced s technological transition period before.

I still remember my father having to buy a parellel to USB adapter for our printer back in the day. If only he knew about these forums back then, he could have whined about it!

Oh but there was! Your dad would've found whiners on Bulletin Boards ;)

Sorry couldn't resist the nostalgia.

From what I have heard, connectivity is good.

If you are OK with the things sticking out of your ears, this may be the most innovative product Apple has released since the iPad. I think there will be lots of followers, and we can expect battery life to become better and the sticks shorter. I'm glad they went for a propriety solution to make them connect easy. This is the biggest problem today with existing solution.

In a few years, cables will look really strange.

Apple is simply using their own take on NFC with pairing Bluetooth for the initial device connection but iCloud service to setup all other devices : true vision

That is thinking different and offering tangible benefit to the end user.
