It does make my eyes sting like hell or feel weird, which is why I don't use it to unlock.
That can't be normal, can it?
I want to see the list of side-effects for using Samsung phones:
"May cause eyes to sting"
It does make my eyes sting like hell or feel weird, which is why I don't use it to unlock.
lol people said that about the 5/5S when the 6 was released. And said that about the 4/4S when the 5 was released.
And I think they said that about the 3GS when the 4 was leaked due to the "ugly" antenna bands...
Plus they said that about the cMBP when the rMBP was released. And when the 2016 MBP was released, people then said the 2012 rMBP was the best design.
TL;DR: people hate change but they'll come around.![]()
Virtual Home button is determined by software, just because Samsung is making the OLED panels doesn't mean that Samsung gets to decide where the home button sits.duh samsung is making there oled panels
Yes it's a semi half-assed solution. They patented behind the screen front facing camera, and sensors recently. Definitely wasn't planned on being included in this generation. Everything is possible eventually, but technology takes time. It was a super close call whether they were even going to get the touch ID tech in this phone or not.
I don't expect Apple to push the boundaries, and neither should you. An all out product from apple means more than they normally do, but there is no way they would go overboard (think profit margin). This phone, with what it includes, is already expecting to have a $150-200 premium over the others.
See my previous post, for pictures of the two potential phone designs.
Lot better than plugging it in.
Looks more like a reflection to me. It would still wobble corner to corner the other directionIs it just me or is the rear part got a protruding bottom right edge? Like, a counter shim so that the protruding camera wont make the phone wobble on a flat surface anymore.

Possible major problem, thought it's unclear with these images. Samsung's S7/S8 infrared iris scanner looks like it can cause permanent eye damage with continued or incorrect use:

Anybody know, at this point, if that's a confirmed feature on the 8?!
Looks beautiful! Way better than the S8
But let’s wait for Sunny1990 and the other ‘definitely not Apple trolls’ to weigh in on it.
If Steve jobs was alive this wouldn't get clearance that little black bar at the top is a design atrocity they should have just made the bar go all the way acrosswhoa...
That's not as bad as the cases for the iPhone 5C, or the fugly thick white antenna bands on the 6/6S/7.If Steve jobs was alive this wouldn't get clearance that little black bar at the top is a design atrocity they should have just made the bar go all the way across
That's what I thought was the camera part was too ugly to be real. There's NO WAY the camera would be that ugly...

Eh im just saying this as convenience point of view. Just lay the phone on the charger pad and boom...done deal.Is it, though? I can still use my phone plugged in, but I'm limited by it laying on a mat. Plugging it in takes literally 4 seconds... it's just not that big of a problem that it demands a solution with tradeoffs like "stops charging when you pick it up."
Once they get the area-adjacent over air charging worked out, that would be cool though.
Errmm, It's a model based on a concept mock-up, made by a guy (or gal) with too much time on their hands. Why are you saying "sorry Apple"? These images have sweet F A to do with Apple.I don't like the cutout on the top, I will not buy it, sorry Apple![]()
WHY THE UGLY FRONT TOP CUT OUT INTO THE SCREEN.???
THERE IS NO BALANCE TO THIS DESIGN!
WHY IS APPLE DESIGN SO RUBBISH IN 2017???
EVER HEARD OF SYMMETRY.???
SYMMETRY NOT UGLY CUT OUTS.
question is how do you go home on this thing?
Agree! For that, if nothing else, I suspect they will have a home button equivalent somewhere. I still suspect they will have a home button on the back AND fingerprint sensor in the front. The sensor in the screen will be used only for unlocking. For going back to home screen, and in-app touch-id applications the home button on the back can be used.
That doesn't make any sense if you have it laid down on a flat surface. You'd have to pick it up to press the "home" button
There must be some implementation on the front, someone mentioned similar to Samsung with the virtual button appearing. Guess we'll have to wait and see unless someone sees something in the iOS11 code
