Camera bump is atrocious. Their hard-on for all things and design 'thin' has entirely ruined the aesthetic from the 4/5 iPhone days. Remember the flush camera, how nicely it looked against the back? How you could sit your phone down flat, without having it rest on one of the most important, breakable parts of your phone?

I really don't get the thinking behind the super sleek device with the huge bump in the back. The S8 looks gross from the back and it's the only reason I haven't thought of getting one...

I think it this point, that is the new iPhone 8.

The front is fine. The size is perfect. Since Im use to the 6sPlus. I actually don't mind a slightly smaller device. Camera looks bit cheesy. Will see if I decide to upgrade in due time.

I dont know how many times i have told you guys. There wont be an iphone 8.
The 7 was already a redesigned phone even if it looka similat. There will be the 7s and oled verion probably called pro or whatever fancy name they come up with.

Fun fact...no one here knows the prices with the new iPhone 8. It's speculation. But enjoy your iPhone 7 while others upgrade.

There's a question mark for a reason... It's just my best guess at this point. Doesn't it seems reasonable though? Essentially they're expecting thee new models, hard to see how they could be cheaper than usual.

Either the photo is distorted, or the Apple logo is suspiciously low. On previous phones, the distance from the sides and from the top was equal. Otherwise it looks legit.

it does not seem that bad given that you've now got a vertical camera module to accommodate and look nice with.

So you prefer form over function? Most of us would rather have a better camera and a slight bump to house it. I see no need to make the entire phone thicker just to hide the camera bump.

Bah. Not a fan of the earpiece and front camera dipping down into the screen, although I'm happy Touch ID isn't on the back...
I agree I don't particularly like it, but then when I compare it to other options (1, a bar across the entire top uneven from the bottom; 2, a bar across the top and added a bar across the bottom for symmetry) I think this would probably be the best way to go.

I still have a hard time believing they do the cutout at the top.

How do they handle the UI / UX. Cut out the clock and site (for instance in safari)? Add additional things above signal strength and the battery indicator we haven't thought of yet?

Cutouts and curved corners seems sloppy to me.

Sooo... pricing will be 7S - 7S Plus like normal (so current gen prices) and the iPhone X Ultra Edition at say 150-200 more? Or in other words, I'll just keep my iPhone 7.

If the 7S's only feature is a slightly better lcd screen and wireless charging that seems like a good call.

I'm still holding out hope the new iphone 8 or whatever its called will be mind blowing so I'm waiting till it gets released to upgrade to my next phone.

Looks like every other recent Apple product: boring and dated. That bezel on the front just looks weird and i'm not even talking about that sensor/camera bar.

Reading the nay-sayers on this thread smacks to a replay of "Groundhog day". To my opinion, it appears that this iPhone will clock as best of the generation.

But, are people willing to fork north of $1000[est.] for such device?

The answer is most likely, yes -- and by the 10's of Millions.

Still have seen zero reason to purchase 8 this year. IOS 11 is not what it should have been and there's been no software that pushes the iPhone to the point of being slow so I'll stay with my 7 Plus for a long while.

The "cutout" will house the status bar, which has been pointed out many times. I'm not sure why there is a bunch of negativity surrounding this, as Apple will make it "blend" in quite nicely.

Which leads me to think that we won't be seeing a white iPhone 8.
Was thinking the same thing. White would look bad.

I wouldn't suggest upgrading to iOS 11 then ;)

I can't wait to see what the jailbreak devs do with all the iOS 11 features. I'm sure I'll be able to perfect it to my liking. First thing to change will be the control center theme

If they truly plan to charge upwards of $1,000 then it needs to be THE BEST. Their camera is already not the best on a smartphone, could you imagine paying 1,000, which would be approaching the realm of almost 2x as much as a premium Android device? They're getting into crazy territory with their pricing, to the point they're eliminating perfectly good marketshare. $6k Macs and $1k+ phones...ay yi yi Tim

Is a few mm really that big of a deal? It isn't like the device would have to be huge. They keep wanting to make it thinner, thinner, thinner. Battery problems would be solved, and the ugly form of the camera bump. What's not to like?

The iPhone 6s was thicker than the 6, the 7 was the same thickness and the 8 is gonna be slightly thicker (according to rumours, iirc). Something doesn't quite add up to your statement.

Ok, then they're simply being lazy on design and sacrificing where Steve wouldn't. That better?

Probably more like half that($1000) honestly. People will either do the Apple Yearly Trade in program or do the yearly trade in through their carrier. $25-30 is a lot easier to come up with monthly than dropping $1000 at once for some.

It's going to sell. There is no doubt.
I'm still debating on the Note 8 or the iPhone Edition.

What I really would like to know is if the iPhone Edition is going to be a one off and then they go back the 7/7+ design.
If it's a one off I'd probably get it without question but if they're going to make next year iPhone the same as the iPhone Edition or continue to release the 3 different phones. I'd probably wait till next year for the iPhone for my personal phone and just get work to get a Note8 for work
