I'd like to see you beat a GTR on a real race track, not in a straight line where kids think their civics are the fastest. Because on a real track there're more than just raw power and that's where real races happen

huh.. I'm not going Auto-X with the Z, but I'd take up that challenge against a skyline at any race track, given the opportunity.
I'm not about all straight lines either, and the C6 compared to a civic.. really ? The race, friendly of course ;), was not just on a straight stretch of road..some nice twists up here in Colorado

That's your garage? All of your images show up on google search except for the car that's a piece of crap.

The Corvette is nothing more than a glorified Camaro.

As Sammy Hagar once sang, "I E-A-T Z28!"

:D

What most drivers should be asking in their car purchases the power to weight ratio. That is so important especially in today's heavy cars. I would take a four cylinder in a light car then a big V8 in a heavy car!

Having posted that pic on numerous forums...that's a surprise ? And piece of crap car ? lol.. I'm done!!

Then it shouldn't be too hard to post up some unique photos... Give us some alternate shots of your garage too.

Piece of crap I'm referring to is the Pontiac.

I don't see what the year has to do with it. All the Corvettes within the same generation look nearly the same. And that picture really says that it DOES have Camaro lights. They're squared, not rounded. The entire back looks like a sleeker (yet still chunky) Camaro back, in fact.

Were you also complaining when they ditched the retractable headlights?

The C7 StingRay design was a much needed update of the 'Vette's design theme.

Why so much hate for GM? I have owned BMW (M5,550) Mercedes Benz(E350,E63 AMG) Audi(A6), Infinti(M45), Lexus(GS350,ES350), Chevy(Corvette C6, Silverado), Nissan(Pulsar, first car), Pontiac (grand am) and have liked each one for different reasons. I think many people hate on GM but have never owned one. I dislike Honda, I don't know why as I have never owned one.

The 2015 z06 should HANDILLY beat the GTR in the hands of any good driver on nearly any track on any day. Heck, the z06 should even beat the NISMO GTR($150,000) in most cases(a more curvy track will favor the corvette) with a good driver.

The base model GTR (not the black, or the Nismo) is more in line with the base corvette, and a base GTR starts at $101,000 while the base corvette is $55,000

For example at VIR, the 2015 z06 posted a 2:41.3 which is FASTER than the 918 at 2:43.1 and a 918 is a million dollars! (to be fair to the Porche, these laps were on different days with different drivers, but still)

Just look:
http://www.caranddriver.com/features/lightning-lap-2014-ll2-class-feature
The base corvette ($65,000/tested ) absolutely DOMINATED it's class in the Lightning lap, over 12 seconds faster than the next fastest.
It even beats everything in the next class higher
http://www.caranddriver.com/features/lightning-lap-2014-ll3-class-feature
except for GM's own z/28 camaro. (this is the base corvette were talking about here)

The base corvette is 8.8 seconds faster than the Porsche Cayman S;
The base corvette is even faster that the Audi R8 V-10 Plus which is almost 3 times the price

Around VIR the Nismo GTR does a 2:49.4, again, over 8 seconds slower than a z06 vette, and only 4.4 seconds faster than the base corvette

Heck, the NISMO GTR is only 1.5 seconds faster than a z/28 Camaro at VIR.

AND the base Corvette beats all of these cars above while getting 30 MPG on the highway in eco-mode.

Big heavy engine in the front with a ton of understeer...the American way. After driving lightweight mid engined cars for the last 10 years, I can't go back.

So you paid more money.. just to drive a slower foreign made car. Well atleast your purchase behavior matches your intellect.

Forget the newer C7. The OLD C6 pretty much kills anything under the $200,000 price mark at most racetracks. You know those curvy road racing tracks where lightweight, handling & braking abilities.. are just as important as acceleration and outright horsepower.

The GT-R is all computer where the 'Vette needs a skilled driver. But both are very trackable cars. But you can get away with more with the GT-R due to the computer saving you. Make a mistake in the Z06, it will cost you if your skill level is not up to handling the Z06 at its limit.

Both are very good sports cars. It's amazing what Nissan can get out of a 3800 lb. pig with its AWD system and the 'Vette is a pure driver skill required performance machine. It's all what you want in a car as both have different characters.

No wireless on any of the 2016 models?? Well that's incredibly disappointing. I'm planning on getting a 2016 Camaro and got all excited when CarPlay was announced for it.

Actually, I don't think GM gets enough respect for their performance cars.

The lowly Camaro SS ($34,000) is faster around a track than a PORSCHE CAYMAN S ($67,000) or a AUDI RS7 ($106,500). Yet it is routinely repeated that a Camaro (or Corvette or Mustang) are only fast in a straight line.

Remember that wireless carplay is not available at this time. (it's a iOS9 add-on) Let's see what GM says after iOS 9 is out in the fall.

But it almost definitely would require the right hardware. Do we know what that will be?

Zero likes. None deserved. The Corvette is a masterpiece. Among non-modded cars, the Corvette is the most efficient way to get real horsepower. The Z06 is the greatest American car, bar none.

Your use of the term "efficient" got me thinking. What other car offers over 400 horsepower (actually 460), incredible looks, world class quality and performance, AND GETS OVER 30 MILES PER GALLON ON THE HIGHWAY?

I'll save the peanut gallery the time needed to research this: NONE.

I can't wait to have a GM with CarPlay. I currently have a Ford Edge (first Ford...ever - I have owned about 8 GM vehicles) and the My Ford Touch system is good looking, but damn it's buggy and lacking.

Here's hoping they bring back the Avalanche for the 2017 model year.

GM is undergoing a sort of renaissance over the last few years. It started with the Stingray and now has filtered to the new Malibu and Camaro. They are a brand to be taken seriously. I am quite happy as an American to see this happening. We finally have vehicles that can compete on a global scale.

In April I was set to place an order for a Stingray. I decided to wait for the 2016 model year to see if CarPlay would be on board. I'm happy to say that Chevrolet is the first company delivering CarPlay to consumers and it's across their entire lineup.

Bravo GM.

I have Pioneer AppRadio 4 which has CarPlay. I was excited for a few days until I got tired of plugging it in. Just use bluetooth now and have not used Carplay for a while.

plugging sounds like a small task but it is very inconvenient. that is why there is bluetoothh and new Macbook has no Ethernet port.

it would take a few more years before car makers have wireless carplay.
