The Corvette has enough power to easily bring the tail out to counter under steer.

There's a lot more to understeer and oversteer than the amount of power a car has. And think about what you just said...you want to "bring the tail out to counter understeer"? My original point is that a mid-engine setup is a perfect balance. Combine it with a lightweight chassis and sticky tires and whatever ground you might lose to a big HP car in the straights can be regained in the corners.

Clearly you know nothing about the Corvette Stingray. It has won every major industry accolade and is nowhere on the same planet as the Camaro. It's on the planet with the Porsche 911, Jaguar F-type, even Ferrari's and Lamborghini's. Get your facts before you make such an ignorant blanket statement.

And clearly you know nothing about sarcasm and hair metal. :p

Is the article correct ? The current Volvo XC90 has CarPlay and is being delivered to customers since a couple of weeks. The orders started about 6 months ago (longer of you count the special startup series).

Not that the XC90 is so cheap btw, costs about as much as a Corvette, especially in Europe.

Nice. I have the little brother of the Z06, I have the Grand Sport model. Will get a C7 Z06 someday. Damn, that thing is hot!

The 2017 ZR1 is rumored to be mid engine.

All that $$ for 50+ year old engine technology (16 valve, single cam, push rods)? Why? Because GM can't build a reliable engine with modern technology. Sure, the numbers are huge, but at those disparate RPMs much of it won't be useable, except for spinning tires and going in a straight line - or - looping it a$$ first right into a ditch. When Chevy tried a DOHC in the Vette it was a massive maintenance FAIL.

Still can't polish a turd.

This Apple user has a 2016 Corvette on order. In fact I waited to order a 2016 because of the rumors that CarPlay would be on board. Glad I waited.

Exactly :)

Too bad that a large majority of Apple users would never buy anything built by GM. The only thing GM has ever been good at is building garbage and then asking for a bailout when it was mismanaged right down the drain.

My wife and I are loyal Cadillac purchasers, always happy with the service and the product, we cannot wait to upgrade our XTS's to the new CT6... Very excited !

The Corvette has a 5 yr/ 100,000 mile power train warranty. How does that compare to the competition?

And I think you may have forgotten about traction control.

If you look at another money makers for them... Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Escalade... How in the world can you take a vehicle that was one of the slickest big SUVs ever made and turn it into a box that looks like it was designed to haul coffins?
Yes! They ruined the best SUVs. It looks like they took the Tahoe spoof from Grand Theft Auto IV and actually built it.

Having played with CarPlay a little already I can positively say it's absolutely useless and crap compared to some systems.

Touch screens in a moving car are an absolute nightmare which is why they're rarely used and BMW iDrive is miles superior to CarPlay.

I've access to ConnectedApps including most streaming services. The BMW maps are far superior to Apple Maps. I don't need internet connectivity to use everything. Voice dial just works and integrates with Siri anyway. I can read email, messages and more, plus even browse online using a built in browser!

And it looks infinitely better than CarPlay which resembles something from the 90's. So far, I'm unimpressed with CarPlay.

Not at all; for me it'd be a nice to have but when looking for a car it'd be bottom of the list :)

/awaits the "you can't afford one of these anyway" comments...... well actually I have a better car than this

I like iDrive also but not every manufacturer can use it

Obviously as it's BMW's own infotainment system. But it's the best one out there and nobody seems to have been able to match it. I just expected Apple to do better.

What's worse is the fact that CarPlay isn't compatible with Android. Before I continue I don't have a single Android device however that issue limits the number of people I can sell my car to. And seeing as my car cost me over $40k, that's a serious minus point.

Limiting my Apple TV to iOS or something with a $500 value is fine, but when it comes to $40k commodities, I'm sticking with universal (and superior) options.

It will be cheaper to move them from android to apple

Its managed by Siri, without touch and even look...

That's completely irrelevant and it wouldn't. If all my devices are Android and I've purchased Android apps and I'm happy with that ecosystem, why would I want to switch? You're talking several thousand dollars potentially.

Like I said, as CarPlay is only compatible with Apple, it's just stupid. Universal
Car infotainment systems are the only way forward.

This is actually inaccurate. The future of infotainment systems is moving away from the proprietary interfaces of individual vehicle manufacturers. What it is moving towards is reliance upon the interfaces that people are familiar with. This is because all of the processing is being moved from the head unit to the phone of the user's choice, predominantly CarPlay for the Apple crowd and Android Auto for the Android crowd. There's sure to be something for the Windows users at some point too.

LOL
Putting a Corvette on par with a Ferrari or a Lambo.
My sides...

It must be even better than a Porsche, since it won all those awards.

Oh lord I'm dying here.
