It's a minor improvement--but doesn't have any wow factor to it. However, this is just a mockup based on a rumor so need to put much stock in it. I would hope that Apple would release a more radical design change.

so if they put dual camera on the 7 plus, what will the 7 have? shouldnt the 2 have the same features, especially major features?

Hmm I hope they don't keep the aluminum housing on the rear. While it's very nice it scratches very easily. On my Note 5 I appreciate the gorilla glass back, I can literally take a set of keys and forcibly rake them across the back and not even the faintest mark. Yes I tried this, I replaced the back so was able to experiment. The only way I was able to scratch the back was with a sharp razor blade and a decent amount of pressure. I definitely miss the glass back days of the ip4, that was the last truly elegant iPhone IMO.

So just for scratch protection I put on a body skin for my 6s+, it's not bad at all but you lose some of the premium feel. My Note 5 I can have it completely naked and not worry about any scratches at all.

The protruding camera never bothered me, seems a bit silly to worry about. I'd MUCH rather have a better camera than worry about aesthetics.

Everyone knows that this is um...a photoshopped idea of what some dude THINKS the next iphone will look like right? So relax people. I can assure you, the next iPhone won't look anything like this fanboy's "vision".

Didn't the iPhone design stay the same from the 4-5s? The screen got larger, but the design was effectively the same.

Yes very similar shape. Albeit the back cover material changed from glass to aluminum which was a pretty significant difference in look and feel.

The design looks the same to me.

Like someone already said: same shape, different design.

The optical image stabilization really makes a diff with video.
Video stabilization can and is also done in the software using the accelerometer data to compensate for the shake or the motion, that's because the resolution of the image sensor is much higher than the video being shot. There is lot of extra image margin to compensate for the shake. So in reality if done right, OS is not needed for video. OS is only needed in slow shutter speed picture applications.

I guess I just see "design" as separate from materials and dimensions. The 5 was an updated 4s, it wasn't a 1 year product redesign.
"Design" is everything: color, shape, material, texture and in Apple's case: software also.

The reason why Apple has been so successful is that they see all these things integrated, rather than a set of disparate elements.

I cant see the shape changing much, but the design will be different. I'm looking forward to seeing if the dual camera will make it into the final product tho.

Why as an Android user are you hoping for a glass back? I really don't get it, but anyway I have never had my iPhone 6s plus in a cover, neither the back, nor the front are scratched. Obviously as a Samsung customer you don't mind protruding cameras, but that is neither here nor there.....

The design and feature set of a phone is a trade-off which involves a lot of things. That trade-off is different for a 5.5" phone than for a 4.7". The 5.5" has room for advanced stuff, the 4.7" does not. It would be foolish to withold the 5.5" from advanced stuff just because the 4.7" doesn't have that space.

I'm actually an iPhone user also. I have both and switch between them at will. I may not be as careful as you, if I just look at my 6s+ wrong it scratches, it's just the nature of the material and nothing you do will make it more scratch resistant. Versus the gorilla glass on my Note 5. You think your iPhone is durable? Go get a set of keys and press hard and drag them across the back and tell me what happens? As for protruding cameras, not sure what the passive aggressive innuendo meant but both my Note 5 and of course ip6s+ have protruding cameras.

That's actually not a bad idea, I've wanted to try a Galaxy note for a while but i've been put off by Touchwiz and all the problems i had with a S4 (which i tried for a few months but ended up going back to the iPhone).
Personally i keep my iPhone 6 Plus in the Apple silicone case i brought at the same time as the phone, with it being made out of aluminium i could see it getting scratched in my pocket and with daily use, it would be nice to use an iPhone without a case again (i haven't been able to since the iPhone 3GS and 4S).

It's all minutiae

Nothing like more of the same to keep Apple's profits high.

Flush camera? How utterly unique.

Given the way things are on current flagships, it's quite unique indeed. Expect Samsung it follow suit with their next Galaxy release.

Let's assume for the sake of argument Apple isn't yet ready from an engineering standpoint to remove the physical home button. What would a redesign entail? Not using aluminum? Going back to more squared off look? Adding glass to the back again? IF they are making the camera flush and removing some of the antenna lines then that signals to me it was a compromise and with the 7 we'll get what they perhaps wanted originally with the 6. Kind of like the MBA redesign in 2010.
