I find it hard to believe that if the phone is SLIMMER (one reason to get rid of the headphone jack, which, btw, was not mentioned here), that the camera is going to be flush, and probably not with the dual camera that has been said to be coming to the PLUS model.

Really, never noticed it on my other iPhones w/ the flush camera and a case. Interesting.

But in the end, he still only had 2 EYES...lol

Yeh the flash would bounce off the case and go back into the lens.

The design looks the same to me.

They were about as different as you can be and still be square rectangles. Look at the bottom in your original post.

That mock up looks and sounds more like an "s" model than the typical odd number complete redesign.

I've never understood the constant criticism of the bands on the back. Is this really something that keeps people awake? I've never once looked at the bands and thought, "man, the phone would so much better without them." I mean, if that's what you're complaining about, you're basically saying the phone can't get much better, it seems.

If people didn't care they would be fine buying a Motorola or Samsung product. It all matters.

The antenna bands are still on the rear of the device on that rendering, they're not on top of the device. I see an uglier design on the rendering than the current one because it's trying to hide the bands and failing at it miserably whereas Apple's design is unapologetic.

Ok so part of the antenna bands will remain. But why on earth can't they color them the same as the rest of the body ?

Excuse me?! the same design?! you are not sure if it will be thinner?!

What happened to all the headphone jack removal rumors?!

No redesign? But but but, I want everybody to know I have the new iPhone...
If I ran into a dilemma like that, then I would seek profession help for my insecurities. But that's just me.

I couldn't have said it better, read my mind.

I prefer when form follows function and this is exactly the case here. The lines are needed because of the Physics of the problem and I find that beautiful. They clearly tell me that body is not just structural part of the phone but also the radio, and not just one radio but multiple radios where a charge oscillates at different frequencies without appreciably interfering.

Dumb aesthetics are exactly that, dumb.

Obviously that photo is fake that's not even a rendered photo, more like a cloning on Photoshop to remove the center band. This means the antenna are fewer and smaller too. iPhones already have so much problem with WiFi signal and they recently added more antennas. I have no problem with the antenna bands it needs to be there, it's a feature to expose the antenna externally to boost the signal. My problem with antenna bands is the different tone from the rest of the phone color. Why in the world they couldn't color match the bands. It doesn't have to an exact color to the point that it's unnoticeable, they can have a color close that is enough so it's not annoying. If the camera is flush this means a thicker iPhone unless they decided to put a mediocre camera than the previous model. I can understand if flush camera is on smaller iPhone because it doesn't have a built-in IS. I'm not excited with new iPhone rumors anymore like I used to. All this updates hardware and software are not very interesting for me anymore. Especially the software updates most of the time it buggy. Look at the Apple Music!

For all the gnashing of teeth that accompanied the announcement of the extremely-slightly protruding rear-camera on the 6/6S lines, it has bothered me exactly zero.

My favorite looking iphone to date.

I think it is ugly now.
Don' t like the small screens with the big chins.

I like the concept, though, would love to see a version of it with less bezel/chins, and that ugly stripe sensor.
A sapphire front and back, and a liquidmetal frame in 4,7 inch.

But the 4s now? Looks dated and people that think that still is their best design over an iPhone 5 or 6, are the blame for Apple not daring to move forward and change a design completely.
Traditional Apple fans are quite conservative and Apple has adjusted it self to that fan group. Just small incremental changes in a year, nothing surprising, etc.

That was what I loved about the iPhone 6.
Complete new design, round, less bezel, thin, lightweight.

Compared to all of the other iPhones, the 6 line was a little overly-simplistic. I would expect to see at least a 4->5 evolution. The pattern hasn't existed long enough to really call it a pattern, but iPhone generations seem to go in groups:

2G, 3G, 3GS: rounded, chrome edges, plastic back, glass front
2->3 Changes: make the whole back plastic rather than the top half aluminum (material change), remove indentation on the 3.5mm jack (I/O change)

4, 4S, 5, 5S: Chamfered, flat, aluminum and glass design
4->5 Changes: make the back aluminum (material change), thunderbolt (I/O change), and make it overall thinner

6, 6S, 7, 7S (so far): rounded again, aluminum back, rounded glass front.
6->7 Changes? (from MacRumors): unspecified waterproof material (material change), remove 3.5mm jack (I/O change)

It seems to me that there are 4-year design categories with 2-year sets of devices. I would still expect to see a new design, but in the ilk of a 4->5 change or a 2g->3g design change. Still rounded edges, but with some material change (like they seem to do).

Seems odd they would ditch the headphone jack and not go noticeably thinner.
