Each second longer I wait the more impatient I am becoming.

I want my iPhone!
I need to get rid of this horrible blackberry.

Hurry up FedEx!

And I need to get rid of this 3G already. 2 years is enough! especially since its been slow as **** since 3.0!!

I'm here in south Florida I got mine this morning FedEx, and if there is one thing and one thing only that's spectacular, it's the display! Without a doubt, the best I have ever seen on a mobile device.

The build quality is awesome as well!

Good luck everyone with your new iPhone 4's..........

1st impression:

DAMN This box is TINY ! ! ! ! ! I could hear the phone box rattling around in the FedEx box, but didnt see it under one of the shipping boxes flaps!!!!

2nd: Like everyone else, The build is awesome!!!! It seems SOo much more professional than the 3Gs (which now seen blobby and cheap- sorry!).

And 3rd: The display is literally like, out of this world!

Oh hey iPhone 4...you sure are sexy. In the process of setting things up from scratch. Ugh this part takes forever. But 1st impressions...

* The screen isn't as "smooth" as the 3GS. 4G feels a little more tacky. Fingers don't slide as easily. Maybe it's because it's brand brand new?

* Side by side, the 3GS has 1 reception bar (in & out) over the 4G. Reception issues a lot worse than before. Maybe it's just me but sitting in my office, same spot, I am dropping calls, reception bars fluctuate btwn 1-full. This is annoying. I've tried turning 3G off like I used to but still quite bad.

* Weight of 4g is heavier than 3GS w/ Speck candyshell case. As others have noted, the build is solid. I'm still getting used to the size. Since I had a Candy Shell on my 3GS, it feels so much smaller. Bumper hasn't arrived yet so hopefully that will help.

* The display really is quite beautiful. Very crisp. Noticeable difference form 3GS. It's your phone in HD, basically. Love the zoom though, only a slight improvement over the zoom on my 3GS with iOS4 installed. Have not tested video yet but very excited to do so.

* Having some problems with folders via iTunes. Sometimes, it won't let me drop an app into a folder even if it isn't full. I'm also seeing that it is sometimes dropping the wrong app into folders. When I try to take it out, it won't even let me open the folder. grrrr.

* I had set the auto lock time to 5 minutes. At some point, it changed to 1 minute and pass code immediately. I don't want it to auto lock after 1 minute! Anyone else have that happen? Noticed that on the 3GS also. Very annoying. anyone know what's up with that?

* SMS count kicks in after 25 char. Ahh..I was wondering that thing was.

That's all I have for now. Will report back once I've played with it a bit more.

Can anyone with the phone let me know if this black iPhone shows fingerprints and smudges as readily as the black backing on the 3G and 3GS phones? I know the display is somewhat resistant to this; I was wondering if the back of the phones shows fingerprints and such as readily as the older versions do. Thanks.

LT

It does a little. Not as bad as I thought it would. A little annoying over the mirrored Apple logo. But it's not going to drive me crazy.

All lines are straight. It's just a line.

Have you ever seen a curved line? No, that's called a curve. :D

Not always.

In solid geometry, a line may actually be curved. For example a line may be drawn on the surface of a sphere. So yes it's curved, but it's still a line. :)

BTW..

My Richard SOLO backup batteries AND my aftermarket Base chargers (I have 4 - -1 in each room of the house) WORK with the iPhone 4 ! ! ! !

Whew!!!!!!

Also the Vibrate on this this is WAAaaay tighter than the old phone. More like a little shock.

Are any of you guys having problems with the proximity sensor on a call?

My screen turns on within 1/2" from my face. This is causing me to hit buttons, hang up phone calls. VERY ANNOYING.

The only way to have a complete conversation is to hold it pressed to my head.

My wifes 3gs' screen turns on 4-5 inches from my face.

That is my only complaint. Other than that, its amazing.

Still getting accustomed to it but this is what stands out.

- The shape is much better. The rounded back on my 3g often resulted in it slipping out of my hand. I know this is my issue but the hard edges works much better for me.

- As said above, the build is incredible.

- As a photographer the screen knocks my socks off. I am often in the position of displaying my portfolio on my phone. The pictures look fantastic. I'm proud to show pictures on this phone.

More to come...

Can anyone comment on GPS performance?

Is it better than the 3gs?....My 3gs lost track of me all the time :( im just hoping iphone 4 is better.

just got my iPhone 4

Just got it about an hour ago--actually, it arrived earlier in the day but no one bothered to tell me, since the package looked so small and innocuous! Upgrading from a 3G. Activation and sync took about 5 minutes, easy as pie. I had already upgraded the 3G to iOS 4 (not without problems; my data didn't transfer, and I had to restore everything from a copy in Time Machine, and then it took over a day for Mobile Me to recognize it, for some reason--but all was well by last night), so had already created folders for my apps.

I agree with everyone else--it's a thing of beauty. Heavier and more solid than the 3G. It seems more touch sensitive; home screens swipe to the next much faster. EVERYTHING is faster, including the iPod, camera, NYTimes app--whose icon, like a bunch of others, now looks fuzzy. I'm using my old Sena case for now (it's a little big) until a new one arrives in a few weeks. I plan to get a screen protector, too. I know, they say we really don't need it, but this thing will be handled a lot and get bounced around in a shoulder bag, so I don't want to take any chances.

I was also thrilled to be able to pair it with a very old, tiny, folding Bluetooth keyboard I used to use on a Treo--works perfectly. So I can now go back (after 3 years of really missing the functionality) to not carrying a laptop around in order to take notes.

It feels like a device that's setting the stage for the future, both in design and functionality.

Line accross Camera

Hi, did anyone notice a blue line across the screen when using the camera?

New iPhones

My wife and I just got our new iPhones a few hours ago! These are our very first iPhones, and we're upgrading from RAZRs on Verizon. Wow, what an upgrade! :)

The screen is phenomenal - you can't see any pixels; although, as some have pointed out, the logos and graphics for some apps are pixellated and need to be upgraded.

I know there are a lot of upgrades over the previous phones, but for us, everything is new! Despite everyone's nit-picking at the details, this is still an amazing and futuristic device. Looking forward to using it!

D A M N ! ! ! !

Google maps is amazing on this screen!!!!!! Such detail, shadows etc..........WOW.

And FAST loads !
