I really hope that the bezel won't make the 6 Plus too big.

Battery life seems like it won't be a problem, so that's good.

anybody's order status on apple.com still say "preparing for shipment" with a 9/19 delivery date? Still haven't gotten a tracking number so gettin curious. Wanting to get a tracking # asap so i can arrange for UPS or FedEx to hold at location.

Yep, still showing 'Preparing for Shipment', been like that since Saturday! :(

90 minutes of HD video, not hours and hours.

The iPhone6+ is fine, it's the 6 I'm worried about.

True... I was expanding beyond their video test results.

They stopped the test after 90 minutes and the iPhone 6 battery had only dropped by 26%

Using that metric... the iPhone 6 would still play over 5 hours of video on a single charge.

That's the hours and hours I was referring to. :)

In any event... I don't think the battery life is "terrible" like how you describe it. Maybe if you have a 5-hour commute and no way to charge your phone at work... :D

Cya Samsung

Samsung's not going anywhere anytime soon, even if they completely dropped their smartphone division. They're still among the most popular Android manufactures. Personally, I really like the HTC phones if I wasn't an Apple fan.

I hope the 6+ (which I preordered) isn't too big.

Up until the time I actually ordered I thought I was going for the 4.7" model... But then I thought, the 5.5 will still fit in my pocket... and when's the last time I regretted getting a bigger display? So I went with the 6+.

Battery life is great too, and OIS is frosting on the cake.

They make some of the components in the iPhone as well as being involved in many other industries, so they definitely aren't going anywhere.

They will never make a phone that is equal in quality to the iPhone, though.

So Joshua Topolsky has now been relegated to the "Other" category? His review was the only one that I read that actually answered the question: 6 or 6 Plus.

In 6 hours the iPhone 6 would be dead as opposed to the 5S having roughly 40% left.

Yes, I would consider that terrible battery life.

These look like just another hands-ons. The questions like "Does the down sampled display look not so sharp when you look close?", "Does it take screenshots at 1242x2208?", "Is the 6+ noticeably slower than the 6?" still remain unanswered...

Not too happy about the 1 GB of RAM in the phones as reported by MacWorld. They'll be struggling to keep up when Apple eventually releases split-screen multitasking.

Yeah it sucks. But I guess they need to keep something for 6S release next year.

$199 for an entry level phone, skipping the most popular 32GB model to force people to upgrade to 64GB for an insane markup - is there no end to the greed?

A8 chip is only 20% faster, as opposed to past when Apple usually had a 2x performance increase. Battery life on 6 is worse than 5S. No big improvements in software or UI.

It's still an iPhone, but after all the hype over the last year. how can you not be disappointment this is all we get. There was no thought put in the hardware or software design, it was just one goal - make a bigger phone. Apple's clean design was sacrificed (which is why everyone is criticizing the ugly lines and protruding camera), nothing done to shrink bezels, no software features except the gimmicky one hand mode.

Insane markup? They have the same tiers as the older models.
$199-$399, this time $299 gets you 64GB instead of 32...double for the same price point.

The A8 from what we have seen so far performs greatly. The chip is most likely using the six-cores PowerVR GPU at 1.4. How can you expect a company to get double the performance every single year? Their chips are based on what is available in current phone tech.

Where are you seeing the iPhone 6 having worse battery than the 5S? I don't even want to reply to the rest of your quote. Too much stupid.

The point is flash memory is cheap now, and they've kept the price brackets the same for like 5 years, $100 in between low, medium, and large. granted they've usually bumped the storage options up and cut off the bottom end. This year is different. They bumped up the storage on the middle and upper tiers and left you with a paltry 16GB in the lower tier, a slap in the face really.

Funny taking some of hese reviews:

pre iphone 6+ on 5-5.5"

CONS:
"Hulking huge design"
"Huge phone"

Ipphone 6+ review :
PROS:
"Larger screen is great for productivity and media consumption"

I wonder if they dont realise this or what is it getting them to write this?

I wonder if it's bias. I remember a while back in a review of one of the iPhones the non removable battery was a plus. Same site on a review of an Android phone, the non removable battery was a con.

I can't help but believe with some of these early reviews if this wasn't an iPhone the cons wouldn't be glossed over.

If they made the base model 32GB, fewer people would upgrade. This way they try to make it more enticing for you to upgrade by going straight to 64GB.

And get rid of Touch ID?

No, make it virtual. Of course I have no idea if that's even possible, but the home button takes up a lot of room. That's why the 6+ is bigger than it's competition. Another user suggested putting the Touch ID in the Apple logo on the back.

Sapphire screen and 2GB of RAM.

Not all, there were a lot of writers that did reviews but he tended to do a lot of the Apple reviews and especially the SoC reviews. I believe he was also the one who would be at and review all the keynotes.

What is SoC? Keep seeing people mention it
