What's this guy talking about on Techradar??

"However, I will say that the touchscreen on the iPhone 6 isn't as good as the competition – it doesn't feel as responsive as the Project Butter / Project Svelte (and subsequent evolutions) that Android has been adding into the backend of its platform."

The camera quality is important to me so I am thrilled to read Nilay Patel's review of the 6 Plus where he says...

"The iPhone 6 Plus camera is the best smartphone camera I’ve ever used. Apple’s holding firm at 8 megapixels while everyone else is racing to put ever-bigger numbers on spec sheets, and it feels like the right decision: the iPhone 6 Plus focuses faster, works better in low light, and generally produces the best photos I’ve ever seen from a phone."

I feel the same way. I shot for a few years with the Nikon D2H which was only 4 mp but with quality glass of the 70-200 2.8 VR those 4mp out performed my D200 which was 10mp. I think Apple is doing the right thing improving the sensor, optics and stabilization which allows us to capture a higher quality
Image with the same MP and small file sizes

It's like that saying, "it's not the size but how you use it" :) my little sensor will out perform
You bigger sensor :)
Looking forward to seeing what this new camera will do. As an event photographer with over $15,000 in high end nikon equipment, I ise my phone 90% of the time for family photos and trips. Just easier to carry and deal with.
Let's see some real world pics and videos.

Here's the image I posted earlier that was deleted because I didn't include any words. I felt words weren't required to convey the purpose of the image. That purpose was to share something I created that the MacRumors community might enjoy and get a laugh from. I hope this is enough words.

Reviews are what I expected. Can't wait to get mine.

It seems like the pros are:

Screen and camera are great. iPhone 6 shape is still great. iOS works good. Speed is good. ApplePay.

Cons:

Battery, shape of iPhone 6+ (too long because of the bezel), slippery to handle, Apple not doing enough to take advantage of the screen space.

Seems like reviewers really like the iPhone 6 as a phone and iPhone 6+ as media consumption.

Android users don't have screen size to brag about but they still have better multitasking and an OS that can take advantage of larger screen size (Note 4).

Walt Mossberg and Jim Dalrymple are both toxic cancer on the tech industry. Well no that's a lie, toxic cancer is not as bad as those 2. Seeing their reviews advertised here near the top is just so so very wrong.

Endgadget usually have good reviews. So I'll read theirs. I don't see Anand tech on the list unfortunately, but he was bought out by Apple as we all know so that's unfortunate.

(I said are above because what I said is fact. If I had it my way they'd both be writing decently and not be so arrogant. I don't want to ignore them but this is something those 2 have done unto themselves.)

***************

On another note it's hard to believe and review that says things like this:
"The market has changed, and it was high time Apple did the same . . . Basically, Apple would be leaving money on the table if it didn't address this segment of the market."
I read on because reviewers make mistakes too. Just like the mistake in the endgadget review I quoted above. The mistake saying that Apple was right to make phablets.

And get rid of Touch ID?

Yeah, Touch ID [on a home button] is here to stay for a few more iterations, unless there’s a breakthrough in scanner tech that allows it to be embedded under the display.

Personally, I like the physical home button. It’s a nice constant across the OS, it’s easily found by touch, it gives you a little orientation identifier, and it does several handy operations.

Apple _could_ go with an asymmetric top/bottom bezel, but even when you compare something like the Note 3, we’re only talking 27/100ths of a inch difference in height. Ultimately, once you get big, it’s not like a few mm is going to make or break the portability/pocketability of a “big” device. :)

Glad to hear its a improvement. With Apple ticking all these features off the list. Its hard to imagine whats left for iOS 9 and iPhone 6s. Should make for some interesting events next year.

His impressions ? Its not as if hes the only one noting some lag . Certainly the 6+ has had several reports of lag .

Yet making the iPhone .5mm thinner is a big deal.

Apple’s designers prefer a symmetric bezel, so they’re willing to trade a little additional height, however, they love the aesthetic of a thin device so that’s where they focus their size reduction. Simple enough.

I don’t know if it’s the constant use of iPhones (my few Android devices are for testing and rarely even here...), but I kind of dig on the symmetric bezels (vs. asymmetric) too.

British Fandroids. What else did you need to know?

I think the symmetric bezels look good too, it's the physical home button that takes up the space. And I don't think they are using the measurement at the camera bezel when quoting thickness.

Why wont any of them just confirm the bloody ram for the Plus so we can lay the debate to rest?

I seriously don't know what the fuss is with this ram thing!!! I keep hearing that Safari crashes on the iPad air due to lack of ram! I have yet to experience such thing on my iPad air for over 4 months. Yesterday I made a point to try and load as many tabs on it as possible!! Switched between tabs, kept opening new ones, closing, browsing..... not a single problem!!

That reminds me (re: the camera ring/bezel, which I also kind of like ...), has anyone done a lay-the-phone-flat stability test yet?

I don’t actually use mine like that often, if ever, but I was sort of curious.

Anandtech take some time because they do a REAL review.

We will probably get the review this week or the next. I can't wait for the processor review as well.

I hope Anand realise this device is like 99% tablet and 1% phone. And not just praise Apple for selling yet another other tablet that's mistakenly called a phone (like Samsung and co have also done).

People shouldn't kid themselves. Apple released 2 tablets and they just happen to take phone calls as well. I'm not against this as it might seen. I just think Apple have existed the (proper) phone business now and only deal in tablets.

Small - the 6 and 6 plus
Medium - the mini
Large - Air

A tablet for everyone.

Check out the iPhone 6 video from TheVerge.com (link above), they show the effect of it pretty well.

I read that as well. The reviewer at Re/Code mentioned that Apple was aware of the bug and working on an update to fix it.

LoL. Just new external and internals. Thats all. Thats the entirety of the phone. You were hoping for some kind of fourth dimensional change?

dont forget the software. its just an entirely new external design and size with all new internals and new software. thats all it is.
