Every time I remove one of those plastic cases, the computer is scratched to heck from debris rubbing in between the plastic and the computer chassis, and typically the computer is quite nasty, like a horders house.

*It's my job. People, please clean your own computers! Second note, public teachers seem to be the worst at cleanliness.

And yes, I will skip as again no touch screen, and the bloom will be horrendous.

Oh, AND IT HAS MORE PORTS.....such sheep. You still need a ****ing dongle for USB-A! And no micro SD card slot...so for me....it adds nothing especially w/o HDMI 2.1

Luckily that has NOT happened with the 2018 macbook pro that I will be trading in on Monday..I had a pink clear case for it and I took it off yesterday and not a mark, not a scratch..absolutely perfect..so when I get the 14 inch macbook pro if they release another case like that will order again..

Probably they left the chin on the screen cause they will match the design of screen with new ( possibly 31") iMac Pro.

LC4L FTW!

I'm probably gonna get stoned for this... but ... that comparison painfully makes me aware of how much bigger the new 14" is compared to the 13". In other devices, when they increased screen size by reducing bezel size, they managed to keep the overall footprint the same or close to the same. This may not seem like a big deal to some, but in this case it's quite a huge increase in footprint ... which may end up actually being a dealbreaker for me. I don't care about the 16", never was in the market for that one. But a laptop in that size range should remain as portable as possible and that increased footprint makes it less so... needing more space in backpacks, on tables (I can't see myself fitting this one on an air plane tray table), on my ... gasp... LAP ....

I've been in love with the MBA ever since it came out, but went MBP the last time I had to upgrade for lack of retina display at that time. I've been tempted to go back to the MBA especially after the latest update, but those new MBPs really had me at MAGSAFE as well as all that power (I actually do need quite a bit of power for my work; I just really do prefer the design of the MBA). I've really been leaning heavily towards that new MBP, now (and really don't feel like waiting till whenever they may update the MBA at an indefinite future point) but man, that footprint might indeed be a deal breaker for me ... :(
It’s slightly bigger, but I don’t think it’s that dramatic of a difference. People will adapt as always.

It's not a full menubar.
Seriously?

I don't think I have seen one screen shot of the entire BAR/top Filled up with Menu + settings + notifications.

When I say Full menu bar I mean it has all the MENU selections for MacOS.

If I say the cocktail bar has FULL Menu does that mean the cocktail bar is completely full to its storage capacity?

NO, I mean it has everything the cocktail bar can offer on its FULL MENU....

The notch looks utterly terrible.

"Doesn't look that bad" = looks ridiculous but I'm willing to live with it because I don't exactly have a choice.

As such,

Lipstick + pig = pig wearing lipstick. All of the 'I don't mind' comments changes nothing.

It had to be said. I swear there's people out there that will convince you that sometimes having no arms is better than having arms. Sigh.

Anyways..nice (expensive!!!!) machines though.

The notch doesn't bother me but the keyboard is something that I will have to try out before I would move from my M1 pro.

Its literally providing [...] FULL USEABLE Space WITH a full menu bar. I can't complain.

This is a screenshot from Apple showing the 16 inch Macbook Pro.

How do you think that menubar will work out on the 14 inch? Certainly not optimal.

So did Charlie Chaplin, and he was far less evil. So I guess it's all a matter of perspective, isn't it?
definitely not perspective as a whole.

Chaplin did wear the stash for almost a decade before that disgusting person as in character for “The Tramp” as in a tramp in most of his moves. He was adored for it.

Yet The Dictator (perspective you’re referring to allies to this movie) to make fun was probably half a centrist TOO early to release and pretty much destroyed is likeable personality in the USA and leading to his extradition (forcing him to move to Switzerland where he’s live the rest of his days.

My eyes instantly go towards that notch. Can’t believe it’s real or why it even happened. Sorry but I just can’t. The lower bezel throws it all off too. Just have the same bezel all around. Just slightly lower then the camera and same on bottom. I’ll have to see it with actual use but that Lock Screen makes it look really bad to me. The 2016-2020 models look the best to me.

I mostly look at the content at the screen, for work or entertainment. I also don’t see the notch on my iphone.

But I need less discussion about notch complaints and more pictures of the 14” and 16” compared to the 2013-2015 15” mbp please!

Good computers, these. The notch will take a little getting used to, for everyone. But other than that, the computers are great and people should be mostly happy with it.
As I was reading your note, I also note that my screen where that notch will eventually be... is completely unused. It's the kind of thing some people will complain about just because they see it, but they prior to that it never occurred to them that nothing of interest ever occupied that space anyway. ?

Well in the case of the iPhone that notch takes up a larger percent of the real estate (and, it's worth admitting, real estate that was actually used). Unlike the Mac's new notch ;)

I love that its thicker with 16:10 but that price tag though, that's a lot to swallow
