The Peloton App is $13 a month $156 a year not $480. They are also offering 2 months free.I've used Aaptiv for the last 2 years and have been using Fitness+ for the last 1.5 months. I still have my Aaptiv subscription but will let it lapse after my year subscription is up. I used to like a bunch of their trainers, but they purged a lot of their trainers, stopped doing rowing workouts, and cut back on getting actual normal music (about 75% techno beats now) that I started to grow less enthusiastic about using it. I have enjoyed Fitness+ a lot. There is a lot to work on that a lot of people have mentioned: Needing better titles/descriptions of the work out, Need more filter options, needs more scheduling options. For people asking for more difficulty levels, I haven't had much of an issue with this. Aaptiv has also moved over to making their workouts "all levels" and giving suggestions on what to do if you need more or less difficulty. I would rather Apple build out their library first with "all level" activities, then start to fine tune things. For those that are comparing this to Peloton, this is $480 per year vs $80. It's unfair to compare the 2 right now. It's like comparing a normal gym membership to having a personal trainer. For the price, you can get a fine tune workout. The big difference is that Apple has a ton of money they can pour into this to make their $80 subscription almost like the Peloton $480 subscription. Peloton won't ever bring their price down to anything close to $80/year.
True but itās nice to have it all in one place. Hugh quality. Likeable trainers. Links data with your watch and health app and for me personally the music selection is great. The last point is the major selling point for meWith the millions of free videos and articles on the internet and people still pay for fitness subscriptions.
Why when Apple fitness is great as is. They donāt need pelaton. And itās only version 1.0Apple should just purchase Peloton and call it a day, they have a base, the system is great, and the classes and teachers are top notch.
You donāt need a peloton bike to use their service. In fact, the service is far cheaper if you donāt use their bike. There are plenty of alternatives.I don't disagree with you.
I have never used Peloton but I did look into them before going with Apple Fitness. Peloton does look great, but, its far too overpriced. Their machines (the cycles, treadmills and rowers) are in their thousands of ££ and that's on top of the monthly subscriptions they want you to pay.
I would say Peloton seems to only appeal to those in the higher income brackets.
They don't smile all the time. Try a few of the 30 minute treadmill videos. They sweat buckets, grimace, and pant through the recoveries...I'm curious why all workout videos have to have the hosts smiling all the time? Why not show reality: anguished groaning, grim determination, and constant wiping of sweat?
It would require an Apple Watch to operate.I wish Apple would just make an exoskeleton that I could wear instead of having to work out
2nd hand Apple TV HD is very cheap.I tried it but itās far too limited. If I wanted to do a lower body workout, there was no way of filtering them to find the right one. The lack of AirPlay 2 support with TVs is a massive limitation. With some types of exercise, itās simply not safe trying to perform the workout with only a tiny screen. Hopefully Apple will sort out the UX issues and allow AirPlay in a future updated.
Exactly! I've done a handful of these now and here are some thoughts:Agreed. Iāve been using it regularly and I enjoy it, but some tweaks are needed, especially as the library grows. Iāve been just alternating strength on one day and HIIT or Cycling the next day, but it would be nice to have suggested routines so Iām hitting all muscle groups, etc. or to be able to tell which cycling workouts are interval based, etc. For example one week I did 3 different 30 minute strength workouts and each had plenty of leg exercises and shoulder presses, but nothing for chest.
I've been using this for about a month and so far give it an 'A' with minor issues. As stated by others 'Difficulty Levels' would be nice along with some sort of grid for 'All Up-right'...'Mat Only'...'Weights Only '.....etc. Other than that its a great start!
Apple on Monday added over two dozen new video workout sessions to Fitness+, continuing a recent trend of building out the catalog of its fledgling subscription service on a weekly basis.

Fitness+ launched December 14, 2020, and is designed to help Apple Watch owners keep fit through a series of guided workouts that are available across multiple workout categories. As you follow along with Fitness+ routines, the Apple Watch tracks your movement, workout length, calories burned, heart rate, and more, just like other workouts.
In the latest motivational introductory video, trainer Bakari introduces the new workouts like so:
In all, Apple has added 26 new Fitness+ workouts covering all video categories, which include cycling, strength, yoga, HIIT, core, dance, treadmill, mindful cool down, and rowing. That takes the total number of workouts in the Fitness+ catalog to 293 so far.
Fitness+ costs $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year, which breaks down to $6.67 per month. For that price, up to six family members total can use the Fitness+ service. Fitness+ is also included in the Apple One Premier bundle, which is priced at $29.99 per month and also offers āāApple Musicāā, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, and 2TB iCloud storage.

I somewhat agree but have found that I like the ability to use the iPad and decide which room I want to workout in...I can get aware with some of the CORE anywhere but prefer doing HIIT in a room with a ceiling fan or window open. I think they're going to be reviewing comments on this and the Apple site and this will get better and better!I tried it but itās far too limited. If I wanted to do a lower body workout, there was no way of filtering them to find the right one. The lack of AirPlay 2 support with TVs is a massive limitation. Don't laugh but for some of the mat exercises the phone is actually better.....no need to twist or crane ones neck to check on correct positions etc....šIt's just a shame we can't airplay the video from our phone to the TV. Maybe one day, if not there's always AppleTV.
I like it ; its just started and don't worry...'Stacks' will be 'Sherlocked'......As someone who has a Peloton and uses their strength workouts, I can say the Apple Fitness+ app is still inferior. The watch sync is nice, but the features, sorting and filters are not nearly enough. For example, Peloton just added another cool feature called stacks where I can quickly go through and build a workout from a from a few different classes (5 minute warm up, 15 minute hill climb, 20 minute upper body strength, 10 minute cool down) for example.
Interesting (#6). To be honest...I barely even hear the music!Exactly! I've done a handful of these now and here are some thoughts:
1. Need to allow filter by Upper Body, Lower Body, Core, Cardio, Low Impact, previously watched (no repeats), difficulty
2. Add a cool down before starting the workout and simply autoplay after, so I don't have to filter through while I'm breathing heavy and sweating all over things.
3. Create weekly playlist to cover all types of exercises you select (you select what you want each week, it will build a playlist of new content). Or even better, put in your preferences, and it gives you a daily workout regardless of the week, it just sorts every day to find what's best for you. I don't want to think through which trainer, and which exercise, and which music, and what time, and watch previews, only to find out I just did legs yesterday and now need to start my search over. Apple is the gym/trainers, we pay money and show up, they should be able to customize a workout for us.
4. More & longer content. I don't want to repeat! I do want to work out five days a week for 30+ minutes with a short cool down every day.
5. Make it more clear what equipment is needed before starting
6. It sounds like they are promoting the songs. Singing with favorites is ok, but seriously, I don't need commentary on every song- seems contrived.
7. They do seem to smile a lot. Smiling and a positive attitude is great, but please don't force it.

'Debbie Downers'....haven't heard that one in awhileš¤£š¤£š¤£The comments on here are hilarious. Leave it to the Debbie Downers on Macrumors to nitpick at every little thing that might be wrong about this.
My whole family uses and loves Apple Fitness+. It's great. We don't need the level of detail people are complaining about here. This is great to get some time together staying active if we don't feel like going outside. Love how it syncs with the watch. For a 1.0 experience, it's pretty darn good.
I agree, it needs more filtering options, sometimes I want something intense and other days I want something light. As for 30 min HIIT I just end up doing a 20min and another 10/20min HIIT back to back.Personally, I'm really liking Apple Fitness.
Last year, I used Jo Wicks HIIT (25 minute) workouts to get me fit so this year I chose Apple Fitness to sustain my fitness and its working great for me.
I use my 2020 iPad Air screen which I find more that adequate to see what's going on.
The only negatives I have is that there are not enough 30 minute HIIT sessions (I can only see around 6) and also, there is no 'level select' when you filter for the different exercises (you can only filter for duration, trainer and music genre for each exercise type).
I would like to see the sessions filtered for 'beginner, intermediate and advanced' as currently its pot luck as to what you get (some of the HIIT, Core and Strength sessions are easier/harder/better than others) but other than that, I'm enjoying this and have kept my subscription going passed the initial 'free' trial period.

Did you forget the sarcasm brackets?Exercise is a waste of time. You can be healthy at any size.
For $80/year I can buy plenty of doughnuts !
Iām hoping AF comes up with something like this, or more specifically a ātraining planā, where videos are grouped together in a sequence over X days.As someone who has a Peloton and uses their strength workouts, I can say the Apple Fitness+ app is still inferior.
