Imagine them charging faster with USB-C… while still on their backs 😂I can't help but laugh every time I see the upside down Magic Mouse charging.
Painful? An A-to-C cable is like $5.You’re not understanding my point. Up until now, people could use the lighting to USB-A cables they had with their old iPhones to connect to their cars even on their newer iPhones because they all have lightning. Starting with the 15, that will no longer be the case. Hence why I believe the transition would be painful.
Because, when Lightning came out, the main alternative connection was Micro-USB. Those were dark times. Lightning was a shining light of ease of use.Why the Mac accessories had lightning to begin with is beyond me
More durable comparing to what? 🤔USB-C offers a faster-charging speed. It is also more durable in my opinion.

Why You Should Switch to USB-C Fast Charging Now
Save time and money by switching to USB-C. Here’s what USB-C is, why you should switch, how to power your phone twice as fast, and how to make the transition.www.nytimes.com
Lightning of courseMore durable comparing to what? 🤔
You... you know that USB-A to USB-C cables are a pretty common thing, right? That’s the only solution I see as well. Which is why I think the transition will be sort of painful once customers realize they need an adapter for their car.
JFC. I'm just trying to imagine the absolute soul crushing feeling that must have come over those poor Apple engineers as they were engaged in the stand-up meeting where they came up with that charging port's convoluted design, realizing that it is all because some elitist a$$hat was concerned that someday some "oldster" somewhere might try to return a mouse because they didn't know it was wireless.Imagine your 90 year old parent just keeps it plugged in, and then one day it goesn't work. they'll think the mouse is broken, instead of trying to charge it. It was a deliberate design decision, and Apple isn't going to take it back because they made an oops.
Would have been difficult because the first USB-C items came out in 2016. That's why Apple went Lightning in the first place. USB-C wouldn't be ready for a number of years and Apple couldn't wait. But once they made the commitment to Lightning, they had to stick with it.USB C should have been introduced in 2013.
Adapters are about $7 on Amazon for USB-C to USB-A and vice versa.Right, but how will you connect an iPhone 15 with USB-C to a car with a USB-A port, if the only cable that the iPhone will include is a C to C, not a C to A? Most cars don’t have USB-C ports yet.
And the issue with Lightning is the exposed contacts. I found devices were failed to detect via Lightning sometimes. The issue with USB-C is the fragile outer shell. It can’t be just carelessly poked into a device. People will have to learn to be careful I guess.
I think usb-c is the name of the conector! Thunderbolt now uses the usb-c standard connector. Some of the products mentioned in this article as having USB-C ports are actually Thunderbolt ports.
Maybe they'll put the port on the mouse on the edge so you can actually use it while charging instead of the brain-dead bottom port.
The transition will be painful for wired CarPlay, since a USB-C iPhone will need an adapter to connect to a USB-A port in cars.
The USB-C to USB-C cable that would be included would be no good since most cars have USB-A ports, and any lightning to USB-A cables would be useless, too.
Finally cables that have the same head on both sides.
