No way a 15", it would destroy MBP sales, they are already very close in spec.
I agree. A 15" MB would be bad business, IMO. I for one would consider buying a MB instead of a MBP, which they could then lose a grand on, easily.

We should riot if this is all going to lead up to a big let down where no updates will occur, I for 1 will be damn pissed
I would get used to that sort of thing around here... this is a rumor site after all. But my bet is that it all goes down on Wednesday.

Well, it looks like we'll see new MacBooks show up on Apple's online store at about 8:30 am ET on Tuesday morning. That must mean that the whining over how disappointing the update is will probably commence at just about 8:32 am then.![]()

Seems to me the whining has started already...Well, it looks like we'll see new MacBooks show up on Apple's online store at about 8:30 am ET on Tuesday morning. That must mean that the whining over how disappointing the update is will probably commence at just about 8:32 am then.![]()

All this talk about Macbooks. Whatever happened to an update to the Mini? There hasn't been any rumor other than saying one is due. Maybe they're going to drop the Mini altogether.
New 13" MacBook white (spec boost, Santa Rosa, still integrated graphics but better than before)
New 13" MacBook black (higher model, better specs)
TWO new 15" MacBook Pros (with LED screens; two spec levels)
New 17" MacBook Pro (no LED)
I ordered a Macbook last Wednesday. It's been delayed and according to Apple's shipping info ( & Fedex - Rush Service) it is scheduled to arrive this Wednesday from Beijeng, CN. It sat all weekend at the FedEx depot in Beijeng and was released today. If it is the Macbook I ordered I will be happy, if it has an upgrade I will be thrilled. By the way I have ordered several computers from Apple, this is the first being sent from Beijeng, CN
The Macbook refreshes will include both the Macbook Pro lineup as well as the Macbooks.
As of Spring 2007, the Macbook Pro line consists of three models: two fifteen inch (1999U$D, 2499 U$D respectively), and a single seventeen inch (2799U$D). No additional configurations will be added. In its stead, the two fifteen inches and the single seventeen inch models will be revamped to incorporate the Intel code-name "Santa Rosa" chip as well as new LED backlit display.
The Macbook line currently consists of three models, two white poly-carbonate models (1099U$D, 1299U$D respectively) and a single black matte model (1499U$D) Due to budget and cost restraints, the low-end model will not be refit with new LED backlighting. However it will employ the latest Intel codename "Santa Rosa" chip set. The other mid-range and high-end Macbook models will similarly utilise LED backlit display and Santa Rosa processors.
Do not expect major design revisions in this update, but do expect performance specification boosts, (e.g. hard-drive, ram, graphic processor). In an effort to distinguish our Macbook Pro line from the Macbook line, a bigger discrepancy is planned between the models.
While it is policy to not release a specific date when the update will be executed, expect in the near future a revision to the current line up.
