The Macbook refreshes will include both the Macbook Pro lineup as well as the Macbooks.
As of Spring 2007, the Macbook Pro line consists of three models: two fifteen inch (1999U$D, 2499 U$D respectively), and a single seventeen inch (2799U$D). No additional configurations will be added. In its stead, the two fifteen inches and the single seventeen inch models will be revamped to incorporate the Intel code-name "Santa Rosa" chip as well as new LED backlit display.
The Macbook line currently consists of three models, two white poly-carbonate models (1099U$D, 1299U$D respectively) and a single black matte model (1499U$D) Due to budget and cost restraints, the low-end model will not be refit with new LED backlighting. However it will employ the latest Intel codename "Santa Rosa" chip set. The other mid-range and high-end Macbook models will similarly utilise LED backlit display and Santa Rosa processors.
Do not expect
major design revisions in this update, but do expect performance specification boosts, (e.g. hard-drive, ram, graphic processor). In an effort to distinguish our Macbook Pro line from the Macbook line, a bigger discrepancy is planned between the models.
While it is policy to not release a specific date when the update will be executed, expect in the near future a revision to the current line up.
