I have an oportunity to take home about 5-10 older PC's that are being chucked out from where I work. They are a mixture of speeds ranging from 266Mhz to abou 500Mhz. Was thinking about grabbing some, not sure if its worth it though. Dont really have space to put many new computers at my place.Originally posted by MacBandit
Fold it open flat and use some double backed 3M body tape to tape it to a clipboard or something then hang it on a hook.

I think they need to drop the time-limit for data units... I had crunched 95 of 100 steps in a Gromacs unit when the BLASTed thing (sorry about the pun) timed-out and the results were simply tossed for a new downloaded unit.

Thats not good!Originally posted by bousozoku
It wouldn't matter a whole lot since folding@home doesn't seem to work on G5s right now.

So does anything actually run on the G5s? I keep reading about this program and that program and yet another program doesn't work on the G5...that cannot be good!

Good to see we've managed a couple days in a row in the Yellow according to Extreme Overclocking.....and is this our first time at over 11k points?
I wonder if we can keep this up

don't get too excited about folding on a 1GHz Powerbook. I have on folding for about 16 hours a day, and the Athlon XP I am also running beats it hands down. Should the Macrumors home page not have a banner for folding, inviting all visitors to fold for the team if they use and like the site?

On this general topic, I've noticed that we've been slipped lately and just lost ground to the Knights a while back. Looks like we are in need of more people or others are just not folding as much as they used to. Not sure if this is just because the client doesn't work on the G5 or what, though.
