They only come here and troll because they have useless lives and they are useless human beings.

LOL! I also think they can't afford it... so hate it and bash it! :p

They should spend their time fixing their registry or reformatting their drives (again) on their $500 PC's that are such a bargain!

For all the anti apple and anti-iPhone people on this site... if you don't like the company or products then go somewhere else! Go buy another product and be happy! Life is too short to just rant and rave. UGH!

Not accepting everything Apple does or puts out is not being anti-apple. I like some, I don't like some. I have as much a right to be here than you do.

And practice what you preach next time, life is too short to just rant and rave. :D

I don't think I have ever reformatted a drive or reinstalled an OS and I have been using Macs since the 80's.

My brother works on PC's and I wanted him to do a memory upgrade on one we use for data collection. The first thing he did was reformat the drive and reinstall the OS. Erasing all the programs and data on the device, including irreplacable keys.

After that the device had no value at all and was chucked in the trash after paying for the "upgrade" and being in fully functional condition, for someone I have never met.

It seems to be a cultural thing.

i love my iphone 4 it works fine (with a case). the up/download speeds are a bit slow due to att being r-tarded, but its fine. if this doesn't get fixed then i will be mortally get pissed off and become a troll.

Geez... In every freaking thread.

Its all they've got.
Always makes me wonder what phone they're looking at.
My iPhone 4 is probably the best piece of technology I've ever owned.

But mindlessly repeating nonsense IS trolling.
Fact... for the vast majority of users reception is far superior.
For those too lazy to move their finger a centimeter (or get a case, which one should use anyway), well, there's always a Kin.

Good for Steve and Apple.... they deserve this. Apple and Steve have been kicking some serious butt during a time when other companies are looking to go out of business.

BTW... I think the Anti-Apple folks that troll here must be the same folks that stuck their thumbs up at the Mac community in the late 90's touting how great and innovative MS was. Now they're just pissed that MS can't innovate their way out of a wet paper bag and Apple makes them look like a technology dinosaur.

Your snippy remarks are offensive.

Calling people "Trolls" is uncalled for, back it up. It's just your very uncouth way of avoiding the unpleasant truth and harsh realities that your once great innovative and bold company has made some mistakes, and what's worse is not big enough to admit them.

One day when you stop drinking Jobs Kool Aid you'll realize your not the only one that likes or liked as the case may be, Apple for their style & design innovation and their once and hopefully continued one day wonderful accomplishments.

They have made some major mistakes and at least some of us can see that. Those of you that choose to remain blind, well, that's your choice.

Who is the dumbest?

I am not saying they are not smart, but I wonder what's the level of "smartness" of those who decide this.

Also, who is the dumbest?

Yes, and there are some fine, fine discussion threads available for bitching about Apple product within the Macrumors forums. Please feel free to take full advantage of these!

So well said there a troll in every conner of the internet.

Now if only july would come faster so I can get the badly done, broken White Iphone 4 I so much love. I need the phone 5 percent of the time, so I really don't care about ATT and its issues as long as 3G works flawless :D

Man you are really out of your mind. You go on dissing people because they said a product is not working. Calling them trolls and so on. Yet you dont even know that the problem goes beyong AT&T and phone call. IF YOU HOLD THE PHONE FROM THE BOTTOM, THE DATA SIGNAL WILL ALSO DROP SIGNIFICANTLY GENIUS. I underlined your comment followed by my response to that comment.

You are making it sound like the issue will affect calls but not data transfer. Most people hold the phone with their left hand and scroll and type with the right hand. JUST LIKE ALL APPLE COMMERICALS DO.

Thanks
AE

MS has a long list of products that don't compete with Apple that are doing just fine. Enterprise software, x-box, dev tools that are better than Apple's, etc. and MS makes a lot of money licensing patents and software to Apple, Google, HTC and others. all idevices have a lot of microsoft code in them

Microsoft doesn't sell computers. Dell, HP, Acer, Lenovo and others do. Most of MS Windows sales are made to computer OEM's who design their computers and compete with Apple. Apple might make better computers than HP, but X Servers pale in comparison to HP's Proliant servers. Apple is way behind in their server hardware in terms of scalability and value. and mac pro's are way behind competing workstations from Dell and HP.

just bought a $299 laptop for my father in law. he was going to buy it and we went to best buy to look. i showed him the apple section and told him the reason for the cost premium. he went over to look at the $329 toshiba that went on sale for $299 the next day. i used it for an hour and was very impressed with the out of the box experience. very different than my mother's dell a few years ago

Congrats to them both.

On a side note I always found it strange that Americans say smartest instead of cleverest.

I have found that smart and clever are very different. In my experience, clever people can get out of a jam, smart people can avoid it all together.

Interesting .....

Let me first say I agree with you. The combination of Jobs and Ives is an excellent one. Both men seem to think along the same lines, and apparently admire each other.

But something bothers me a bit, when people start saying how much they like/admire Apple based on the stock prices. I'm impressed that their stock has been able to do so well, especially in a relatively poor market. But at the same time, I admire their products simply because I work in I.T. and use most of them on a daily basis. I'm not fortunate enough to be one of their stockholders. I simply base my opinion on what they deliver to me as a customer.

(After all, Google stock is worth far more per share than Apple, yet I've always considered their stock over-valued and over-hyped. The fact their stock does so well doesn't change my opinion of them.)

In a perfect world, stock prices would be a direct reflection of the quality of goods or services a company has. But in reality, you can't read much into it at all. A stock price could be really low because a company was building something so incredibly great for the price, it was barely making any money on the final product. Or it might be really high based solely on false promises and hype. Since we allow people to buy and sell stocks on such a short term basis, prices fluctuate in waves, based on small events or even single statements an executive makes on a given day. And then, to "even out the risk", people are instructed to invest in a broad spectrum of stocks - vs. actually putting their investment dollars into the companies they truly believe make the best products or provide the best services. (I bet most investors hold stock in plenty of companies they've never even used personally for anything before.)

I heartily concur! The one two punch of Jobs/Ives is a knockout!
I greatly admire both men! Sure makes my former employer and CEO GE's Jack Welch pale in comparison, APPLE saved my portfolio in this economy. In fact I dumped most GE stock to invest in Apple at $69.75, and today as I write this its $258.00!:D;)

"Smart" generally refers to an innate ability. "Clever" usually refers to behavior. Do Americans confuse the words or the traits?

We associate 'clever' with 'trickiness.'

A math genius is 'smart' for figuring out a formula.
A magician is 'clever' for fooling an audience.

An investor is 'smart' at picking the right companies to buy.
A criminal is 'clever' for eluding the police.

A child is 'smart' when he passes a test.
A child is 'clever' when he gets away with something without being caught.

The both mean almost the same thing, but we tend to use 'clever' in negative situations. Not 100% of the time, mind you, but more often than not. I guess it's not the same over there.
