Already did that after the second freeze since I knew they would ask at the Apple Store if I brought it in. So it did it again even as a new iPad, so I restored my old backup since it would have taken a long time to reinstall all my apps and redo all my configuration.

My only other suggestion is fully reflash iOS 9.1 image using IPSW download and iTunes if you haven't already done so.

no issues here...restored from backup of my iPad air 2..did not setup as new..charges fine to 100% with no freeze.

so of our two 128gb wifi models that were both consistently locking up after setting up with a restored backup even after only draining a little bit - in the 90% range and recharging to 100%: one i left the backup on and upgraded to 9.2 beta. has not locked up after about 3 recharges. one i set up as new with a restore of 9.1 from itunes, have installed only a handfull of apps, and has not locked up after about 3 recharges.

this suggest its a software issues, really hoping thats the case.

Haven't seen this issue, but I haven't left it on the charger very long past 100% either. 3 charges to 100% so far. I'll leave it on overnight and see what happens.

New iPad Pro and the same issue. Then went in and decided to get a Cellular version. It has the same issues. So that is 3 iPad Pro's with the same issue.

Thanks for the suggestion but I suspect there will be an "official" fix, and I'll just wait for that.

Realistically, holding down two buttons for 10 seconds once a day hardly takes any time or effort compared to doing all the restoring/resetting/reconfiguring.

Just reporting that this has not happened to me yet either.
I left it on charge overnight when I first got it as it was re-downloading my apps and videos and such.

I have just erased all data on my Ipad Pro and set it as a new ipad. I will test again with the charging issue. However, I still had to press power button twice when starting up the Ipad. My ipad's display turned off almost immediately after the first pressing. Do I need to return it for a new one or wait for the new firmware?

Quoted from Simplicated
"I am noticing some strange behavior with the power button on my iPad Pro. If I leave the display off for a while and I press the power button to wake the device up, sometimes the display turns off after turning on for a split second, as if I pressed the power button twice. If I press the power button again, this doesn't happen until I put the device the sleep for a while again.

Is anyone seeing this behavior? I'm really hoping it's a software issue..."

It only happened to me once, 30mins after first use,
now after three full charges not a sign of trouble :)

kinda in the same boat. first over night charge it froze.

the next 2 i've just left it plugged in 24/7 for a couple of days (as i normally would) and it's been instant on when needed

I've had problem a couple times on over night charge. Took advice and reset and restored my 128 pro and did a full overnight charge from 42%. Was NOT locked this morning. We will see what tomorrow brings.

Zero freezes at any point since day one for me on a 128GB wifi model, but I did upgrade to 9.2 beta 3 the second I got it.

My partners iPad pro has shut down everytime it's been on charge overnight.

I can confirm his iPad was set up as fresh and not from an iCloud back up.

Model is a 128gb wifi only from uk
