Looks like my BDAY present came after all on OCT 24th! hahaaa... Anyways, I am waiting to order from AMAZON because I have almost $2600 in gift certificates. Anyone know how long it will take for amazon to start selling the new units?

This support group has been great. I ordered my stock 15" 2.33 yesterday morning. Est. Ship date is the 30th of Oct, for Arrival by 2 Nov. Hopefully those are the exaggerated Apple dates, and it will come a bit sooner!!!

I sure did, $18 USD upgrade for 2 day shipping. If you wanted to, you can call them and upgrade it as long as the order hasn't shipped yet.

I'm happy for all the Pro waiters out there... it was definatly worth the wait...
as far as MMB waiters... i think we should be seeing an update sometime in NOV... hopefully next tues (even though its not november yet)... Jobs will give us all a treat this halloween with the "Mac Boo"
While apple CANNOT ignore their pro clients because, if not for the professional users, apple would not be the success they are today...
(not to take any credit away from the ipod giving apple a major boost)
However, they also CANNOT ignore consumer (non-pro) clients for the holiday season... i think it would be safe to say a majority of holiday laptop shoppers will not be buying (as a gift to someone else or themselves) for professional use... there's also the argument that non-pro consumers wouldn't know the difference between CD & C2D.. but when there's a bright shinny red "**NEW with Core 2 Duo**" sticker next to the macbook... its hard to resist

I was thinking, that if the new macbook comes next tuesday, i order it and return my "old" macbook unopened,(there is 14day time when you can return it right?) and that way I get the new one. However if the new macbook is released in december or late-november i'm happy I got my macbook now.

now heres where we run into trouble.... will they use the 2.0 Ghz or the 1.83 for the base? I suggest:

and all for $1,499...... actually, lets hope that It gets lowered to like $1,399 because it only has a bigger hard drive.... and it's black. It should be the same price, because for the people who prefer black, they should not really have to pay an extra $200.
lets hope this is what happens, I really don't happen to care about anything besides using my computer to be fast for apps....but as with the MBPs, i doubt they will update the GPU
I wonder how long Apple still wants to sell the lower end MBs with a combo drive. That was standard on my DELL that I bought 4.5 years ago. Sigh... Just hoping for a nice MB for Christmas.

Don't worry everyone, new Macbooks will come before November is over. Apple has to keep their #1 selling computer up to date. The "pro" in MacBook Pro and the premium we pay means we just get merom first but I think it's safe to say that Apple cares more about the Macbook than they do about the MBP, if they like money anyway.

The MacBooks, i doubt, will get the 2.16GHz chips. If they do, then Apple might as well scrap the low-end MBP as they'll hardly sell.
I think its gonna be 2.0GHz across the board with 1GB standards and increasing the HDs from 60GB to 80GB and 80GB to 100GB they'll then simply scrap the low-end 1.83 model which the mini will take over in January.

Somebody Please Let Us Know If HD Bay Is In New MBP
Probably next Tuesday or the week after. Still waiting for someone to confirm or refute the easy access HD Bay is or is not in the new MBP. If not, I will opt for the C2D MB.
