Just for information, I read on macbidouille.com (hardmac.com for English version) on Saturday:
"Just to let you know that I just returned from the Apple Store in London, where they have discounted the MacBook Pro!
There is a 150 to 200 Pound reduction from the standard price... Are the MBPs based on the Meron arriving??? ;-)"

i saw them, they were open box/refurbs. they quite often do it at the regent store.

I want to my Apple Store on Saturday. They had only 3 MBP's left. They wouldn't tell me whether they would order new ones, but definiantly pointing towards a new one. (I know I'm not the first saying this).:D

I just registered to this side because I hope to get better infos concerning Apple products coming out in the near future :)

I'm from Germany and I'm waiting for the ne MBs and MBPs to be presented to the public.
I intended to visit the Keynote on the Photokina, hoping that there the new MBPs will be announced, but then I stayed at home because I had this feeling of not missing much... and I was right ;)

A few weeks ago, there have been so many rumors on the german apple-rumors-sites. But now, you can hardly hear anything about upcoming updates.
Why have things become so quite over the last few days/weeks???

I will resume studying in a few days so I need a new Laptop. I just sold my MB 2GHz to my little brother and now I need a newone. I was sure that Apple would announce the MBP with Core Duo 2 a few weeks ago (as all their competitors have already done so) but Apple seems not to care much for this.

Maybe you guys here know more about when the new MBPs will be announced? I just can wait about 2 weeks. Then I HAVE to buy a laptop for my studies. So is there a big chance, that maybe tomorrow (or tuesday next week) we will see ne MBPs???

Thank you in advance for your help!!!

Best wishes from Germany :)

Damned, there goes the good news
Well, Josias has some good news.

I see possiblityies for tomorrow.

1) I spoke to an apple sales men, he said there were no Matte screen MBPs and there were a decent amount of Glossy screens.

2) Yesterday was the start of Q4 2006.

3) Xserve and iPod Shuffle are due for October.

4) US and Canadian Holiday on Monday, so people will have the day off. (I'm not sure if stores are open in the us, but they are closed here, but people can still have time to order online)

5) Some peoples ship dates are around the 3rd and 4th of October.

6) They need to do it now.

I sure hope so, since I'd be grabbing mine off the US store it will take almost a week before it reaches me in Australia even if I order tomorrow

So much for instant gratification!

I sure hope so too.

I'm in canada. If I order a cutsom MBP from apple.ca, any idea when it would get to me? (C2D MBP).

It really depends. Does the canadian store customary have items in stock when announced?

Either way I am getting mine from the States, in Australia we pay more and get it slower, no thanks.

I ordered a MacBook 2.0 Ghz (with superdive) last tuesday for my girlfriend. I told her to wait till the new ones arrived, but she couldn't wait any longer…

I ordered it via the Belgian online apple store on september 26. it was 4 days shipping. now i got an email that the macbook was shipped in holland, but will arrive on october 16 at my place.

so, is it possible that they will send us a new core2duo macbook, if they are updated tomorrow or next tuesday?

why would it take 14 days to send it from holland to belgium?

Hello Ruby Tuesday!

I woke up from a dream/nightmare just now. I was standing at the Genius Bar with a whole lot of people pressing on my back, waiting for one of the genius to come out from the backroom. When he finally appeared (with a smirk on his face) he said "we only have the 17" C2D MBP in stock - we won't have the 15" model for three weeks". As I am not in the market for a 17", that sort of deflated me a bit. Still, out of curiosity I asked how much it was. "Only three thousand!", exclaimed the Apple genius as he turned back towards the backroom door. Just before he closed it behind him, he stopped and said: "Oh, and one more thing: a ruby colored 12" MBP next Tuesday!"

If you order a modell wit CTO (or BTO) they send it from Asia and this always takes time...

Is this true for all countries? I think in Australia they probably have their own service centres where they BTO the order out for you. Doesn't make sense for Apple to waste so much on freighting when they have so much prebuilt systems on hand.

Would apple update the store to modify the 'OCTOBER' shipping date for the new shuffles to a more specific time, only to update the store again a few days later for the new MBs or MBPs??

I really don't understand why people think Apple needs to update their store for the Shuffle? It's already in there...it has a price, an estimated ship date (even if it's not specific), product description...etc. In other words, it's already in the store.

All they'd have to do is update the ship time in the database the Apple Store gets its info from, but I'm sure they update those sorts of things any day of the week...as needed. Which has NOTHING to do with the site design..etc...itself.

The Xserve is different, they would need to update the "site" for that...all the BTO stuff, ability to purchase...etc.

What holiday is it today?

Are you thinking about next week, being Columbus day?

Always remember, that there's always tomorrow. We stand just a good of a chance as any that tomorrow's the day. I'd really like to see the new ones come out, just so I can see what they've added to them that has taken so long to do. Hopefully, it's mega-improvements. Otherwise, it's going to be a big letdown to some.

I got tired of waiting for the MBP update and bought a 24" iMac this weekend. What a beautiful machine! It's my first mac and i'm glad to get started with the whole "switching" process now. When the MBPs ARE finally updated i'm sure i'll be picking one up. Whether or not i'll keep the iMac then is TBD.

Anyway, now that i have a new Mac i'm hoping that the updates are significant with a case redesign and upgraded components (besides the Merom chip)!! :D
