Praise yet another Apple convertee !!
Hey all, first post, greets from .pt
I used to be a long time windows user. WinXP made my chest pump out in pride. I sneared at other platforms (except my ps2 !!!). My back hair fanned out like the feathers on a peacock.
Then I got into rehab, thank you Apple for the "Get a Mac" ads. I felt like a complete and utter idiot, like if someone somehow opened the unlocked pandora's box while I was still trying to figure out how to pick the lock... with the lid open right in front of me.
Then, last week, I had contact with an alien called MBP. Since then, and I must stress I am NOT joking, the ding ding ding dong sound of winXP booting up pearces my eardrums. I am selling my Asus a6jc t2300 and loads of other left over audio devices I have and get myself a new C2D.
Brave New "audio prod" World for me...
Ok, thanks, you can stop clapping now....
Two quick questions.
1 - what does BTO and CTO mean? I know its the screen being glossy or matte, but which is which and could someone please explain why the heck does anyone want a glossy screen? I mean, the minimum lightsource behind makes so much reflection it's insanely frustrating to work in the sun, or with office lights all round you... you keep having to dodge the reflections to get any work done! I have heard designers etsay they like it for the quality... 99% dont even calibrate their screen colour profiles, why would they care anyway ?!?! I am indeed confused... because with low exterior light, contrast between glossy / matte after 30 mins work cannot be diferentiated. I've done dozen "blind" tests!
2 - About the C2D... albeit being too in the "next tuesday" frenzy, wouldn't it be logical to release the MBP C2D at the MacExpo UK 26th-28 October, rather than a "silent" update ?
cheerios all round!
