I'd die if they some how got 4 slots in to do that, but i'd accept it being able to adress 4GB in two slots.

that would be great, i expect 2 slots for 4gb of ram if it even happens. Come Santa Rosa, they'll have 4 slots(hopefully) for 8gb of ram

That makes sense, I thought you were talking about the MBP's look and feel.
 
i wouldn't be surprised if this thread breaks 10,000 posts by next january:p, hopefully not.

we've been waiting and waiting, the rumors have always sounded somewhat promising, but where's are core2duo macbook pros at? They maybe still in developement getting ready for a Santa Rosa update next year. They could be already in production in China. They may already be on their way here for next Tuesday. But they might also be a chip drop in with the heat problems fixed and the major update come sometime in between january-april. These are all possibilities. i just want my macbook pro. I'll be a switcher whenever it comes. If the update is just a single chip swap, i'll just buy the last ibook g4 revision from ebay and wait for the santa rosa update. I'm tired of windows. My gf has a macbook. It's awesome. I got her to buy one. I will need a macbook pro by next year, but i can hold off with an old ibook g4 if this update doesn't have the 4gb of ram and better not underclocked gpu. For now i just want os x. I'll be able to wait til april of next year on an ibook

seems sort of weird that the store is down now. It was down friday afternoon also in the uk and other places(not US). I think they are preparing for a core 2 duo Macbook pro release/xserve/shuffle/macbook? on tuesday
 
can anyone tell me the probability of macbooks getting the upgrade for merom at the same time as mbps....as from wad i know most ppl here are talking abt mbp upgrades and not macbook....

it is now 09:47 am in UK and the Apple store is still down, this would be a nice time for release in UK, but a bit of an odd time in US

But seeing as the ipod offer finished last night they might just be taking that off, or adding the MBP at the same time

Yes, of course. If they stayed with core duo in them for years and years nobody would purchase them. JK. Yes they will if the mbp gets updated soon. If, no mbp update soon they'll be released simultaneously at mwsf with some santa rosa features(just more speculation. )
 
oh lol thanks for ur reply im in a dilema because i cannot wait for a santa rosa update, would be too long but im in no hurry to get one now, if merom is not comin might as well get one now but if its comin might as well wait....

He'll regret it when he wakes up.
Or maybe it is just maintenance.
