DO YOU THINK that macbooks are going to get upgraded at all??![]()

Possibly its because they had to change the Back to School offer announcement which ends yesterday 7th October and its gone from the store. There isn´t any news otherwise.MacSA said:The UK store is offline too.

Arrives on Friday![]()

yes it was a joke but you can see the pricing for all the products. click on the link http://developer.apple.com/membership/usa.html. then click on the link that says: ADC Hardware Purchase Program Store. It's the first link in the first paragraph of the site. Macbook pros are $500 less. It makes sense to get the student developer package for $99 and purchase the 15" mbp for 1999(High end). then go to the regular student discount store and buy Applecare for $249. The applecare on the ADC store is regular priced. You should be able to save at least $200 from doing this. (if your a student)poppe said:Are we sure about the store going down every week? no just proof that you're enrolled in a college. They say nothing about looking at your transcripts and seeing if your taking CS courses. Many people have done it in the past without cs courses. It wouldn't be a hassle or anything.poppe said:I'm not a developer though, what would be the problem with this? Would apple still require something and what not?

hmmm. not so sure about that one. If you sign up it takes a week for verification. If it doesn't verify you, you will get your money back though. If it does, say hello to a cheaper c2d macbook pro.poppe said:Even if my school was strictly Film school and has only core classes + Film classes, no extra classes even close to that?

apple care takes care of all problems (excluding accidental damage like i spilled soda on it and it fell of my roof: but you can fool them sometimes). The way i mentioned to do it works. Don't buy applecare from adc store, waste of $100. get applecare from regular education store. Apple doesn't care where you get it from. You can even get it on ebay if you want. Education store will always be the cheapest way to go on apple care. Hardware is cheaper by going through ADC. It's a once in a lifetime purchase though with student ADC. You would have to get a more expensive membership to be able to purchase more than one.tjdouadi said:Macman, am I sacrificing anything by doing what you said (ordering MBP from ADC, and then applecare from my student page)? Like are there any restrictions on what I can do if something goes wrong with my MBP later on, or does the applecare basically take care of that? I'm unclear about that part.
And if I order it the abovementioned way, does the applecare apply to my MBP even if I didn't buy them in the same cart, or at the same time?
