What do you guys think would be a good deal for the current macbook pro (base model) when the new ones come out? $1,400 to $1,500? Or is that unrealistic?

Seriously, anyone have an idea? Nobody replied. This will be my first mac so I would greatly appreciate the input! Thanks!

it would be a good deal. But not a chance. They will stay the same price.

I highly doubt that you will get a new/refurb mbp for 1500. Macs have high resale value.

Thanks for the reply, I'll start taking the ebay deals more seriously (1600-1700 range for new in the box). It's too bad I missed out on the rebate deal with the 1.83 gigahertz macbook pro which I read brought the price down to 1500 on amazon.com. Any chance of something like that happening again or is it rare?

I personally wouldnt buy a mac from ebay. No warranty and u dont really know whats wrong with it. ALso you would have to get the applecare transfered to u if they even have it. Big hassel. Just get a refurb mb/mbp from apple store or macmall.

heh.. I suck at photoshop :/
you should make the '2' in 2.16 and core 2 duo on the same level to make it more believable. right now.. then 2 in core 2 duo is lower. haha

I am hoping for that spec on the 17", maybe with a 1920x120 res and $100+ off the price

Ah... nope. ;)
I don't want GeForce grafics in MBP.
But with th 17" they can do, what they want. Cause the 15" is what I want.

And btw: 1920x120 would be kinda strange...

Oh, and I reckon the store will come down today but it will be for the ipod shuffles and the xserve. Cant say I am overly optimistic about the MBP at the moment.
