I hope I didn't make you cry. I have answered your question, yet you fail to accept that as a good answer because you love your android. I don't fault you for loving your phone, but I do for looking past a reasonable answer.

You've still yet to answer my question. You've danced around it and completely avoided it. Bottom line is you're speaking from a position of ignorance. You really have no idea what you're talking about because your experience with the platform is extremely limited and as far as the Galaxy Nexus is concerned, you have no experience at all. That being said, you don't even know if what you're saying is true. You're just hoping it is. In my earlier comment you responded immediately by talking about hardware yet I never made mention of hardware. You use the typical fanboy responses but you've yet to come with anything specific. You just keep making broad catch phrase statements like "it just works". Yet you still haven't spefically stated what the iphones does so much better than the Galaxy Nexus...though I know you can't say for certain because....YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. You're merely regurgitating something you heard from someone else.

YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. You're merely regurgitating something you heard from someone else.

Also would you like a picture of me using my Droid and iPhone? I could even snap a picture of me using my friend's EVO or Galaxy S.

As for regurgitating what I heard, I am telling you I have used Android now on 5 different devices. The operating system doesn't really get any better on any device....yeah it's faster on some, yeah the screen is bigger on the EVO but iOS is leaps and bound better than Android. (of course that's my opinion, and you're in love with Android and I am not stopping you) so stop your crying. If you need a hug let me know.

If you want, I can take picture of me with the phones in my underwear. I will PM it to you, you can make it your background.

Yeah, especially when both iOS and Android have on-screen keyboards that provide the same functionality.

If you think a keyboard like swype or swiftkey is the same functionality of the iOS keyboard then you indeed don't know what you're talking about. They are nothing alike at all. They are MUCH more efficient than the iOS keyboard. Also, regarding your broad statement about customization. I posted a screenshot of my home screen which is customized with very useful information. That is a perfect example of why customization is great. To get the same information on an iPhone that I can get at a glance on my GNex, I'd have to go into multiple apps, sync the data, and then be able to get the information...whereas on my current device all I have to do is turn it on and it's all there for me ready and waiting.

No actually you DID NOT answer my question. You just keep making broad brush statements but you've still YET to specifically state what the phone does that "just works" so much that the GNex cannot. Bottom line is you have no idea what you're talking about. You have no idea what the galaxy nexus can and can't do, all you've done is say you've got experience with phones that came out 2-3 generations ago. That has absolutely nothing to do with the galaxy nexus. So again, answer the question and stop avoiding it. No broad brush catch phrase answers. Speak specifics.

You don't even know my name or how long I've been using cell phones. Remember the original StarTac? Yeah, for a few years before that came out. So I know what I'm talking about. Customization doesn't mean ****.

And i dont care. What you stated was completely false and has no bearing at all. You said both keyboards from iOS and Android are the same and have the same functuality so customizing them means nothing.
Well bro, we arent customizing A keyboard. Sure you can do that by making them different colors but that isnt what im even talking about. We can have completely different keyboards than what iOS uses.

Swiftkey isnt like the iOS keyboard. It is a predictive keyboard tht learns the way you type as you go and gets better at predicting your words that you use. You can take a look at this demo but there are several others that are better. Its takes less key touches to spell words which makes typing faster so no, it isnt just a customized stock keyboard that you are stuck with.
There is another called Better Keyboard that is very similar to Swiftkey.

Im sure you have heard of Swype which again is NOTHING like the iOS keyboard and its fuctuality isnt close to the same. The only thing both of them do it type words but how it is done is night and day.

There is another one on the Market that i like better than Swype which is called Slideit. You can check that one out too and yes you can change the look of the keyboard if you want...and that would be custmoizing the keyboard with a different color but the keyboard functuality is nothing at all like the iOS keyboard.
So therefore, you do not know what you are talking about because once again we arent just customizing a keyboard. We have options to use completely different type of keyboards which iPhone users can not do!

Here is my Slideit Keyboard in white.

Typical apple fanboy's logic:

"If it sells more, then it's better!"

This is just about retarded as much as xbox 360 fanboys saying Xbox360 is better because it sold more compared to PS3, when PS3 is basically a better hardware overall compared to that red ring of death garbage.

LOL, the Xbox hasnt had the ring of death problem for almost two years. But i get what your saying.

I have to agree, the only dearly missed thing in android now is my lovely swiftkey kb. But that is all.

And with android, it's not the problem with the hardware, it's the operating system itself, no matter how performant the new phones will get, the lag (noticeable to some extent) will still be there. It's not as slick and fast as iOS, and it will never be. To "cure" it, it needs to be rewritten from scrach, not just some lines of code, it was bad from the beginning, and google knows that.

Follow up to “Android graphics true facts”, or The Reason Android is Laggy

Edit: +Dianne Hackborn has written a response to this post. She clarifies things about Android that I got wrong, and fundamentally rejects the thesis of this post by suggesting that the increased security and flexibility of the Android platform over iOS is a cause of performance overhead and that increasingly fast hardware will help resolve the issue:

well, you apparently didnt get the point, android is laggier, get it now? if they want to make it like the ios, they need to throw much more powerful proc which means less battery life, ios is more efficient..

and yes, the ios is more secure according to symantec

and fluidity of ios also comes from beautiful animations, which android doesnt have, its like mac os x vs windows

I won't even address the other portion of your post because of how silly it was. As for the link you posted...in the future it's probably best not to quote an intern as if what he said was written by an expert..he's an intern for a reason. That said, what he said was quickly debunked by Dianne Hackborn immediately after that. She didn't reference him directly but she did address the fallacies in what he said. https://plus.google.com/105051985738280261832/posts In the future, you may not want to be quoting interns...

well, maybe silly for you, but not silly for me, for me 50 percent of the product is funcionality, 50 percent is appearance...

All I read was some stuff about Mercedes and Honda and stuff that you FEEL (in capital letters for some reason). Not once did you mention "lag" or "security" in your post.

Talking about security, regardless of what Symantec says (Oh look, they sell Antivirus), I am in complete control of where I source my applications and I get to see what exactly applications have access to on my phone in the permissions screen prior to install.

If I deem that an application has no need to access my location, full internet access or my contacts I'll choose not to install it.

Your fears for my security and "lag" are very unfounded, but thank you for caring.

Yes silly in the aspect that because you feel you're incapable of setting something up that looks attractive you feel nobody else should be able to. And how exactly does the appearance of someone else's device have an impact on you? Do you concern yourself with how other people lay out their desktop computers? Your stance makes no sense, hence why I referred to it as silly.

Hello guys, after reading Slashgear and Engadget reviews of Galaxy Nexus, I am really really excited about it. Google and Samsung have nailed it this time! This phone is perfect.

I am still trying to decide between these two and need help. Here is a list of pros of each device. I'd appreciate it if you could add to the list. Thanks.

Galaxy Nexus:
- Faster in everything except graphics
- Larger screen
- Better browsing, Gmail and Google services

iPhone 4S:
- Much better camera
- Much much better graphics
- More elite design and build quality
- App Store

For me, that's a no-brainer -- I despise iOS and its load of unnecessary, artificial restrictions. The only usable iPhone is a jailbroken iPhone and if I have to jailbreak a device in order to find it useful, it doesn't make sense to buy it in the first place. End of story.

That being said, Samsung will update the Galaxy S2, the Galaxy Note and some other of their devices with Android 4 in January, so maybe you want to consider those gadgets as well. The Galaxy Nexus, however, has the advantage of running a "pure" Android OS and Google pushes the updates to their 'developer reference hardware' first.

feel of the phone: beautiful hardware (plastic is the worst material in the world in that matter, even b&o plastic) beautiful ui (beautiful animations, colors, glossy efect, attention to details, completely lagless)

sorry, i thought that was sell explanatory, but i didint know you have android ;)

i'm not interested in setting up my phone, thats why i like apple, because if i did have that option, it would take months for me to make it right aestetically, i spent two hours rearranging icons on my iphone to make them functionally and color wise pleasing, the fact that i have much higher criteria in that regard doesnt make me silly ;)

well, it does, its pretty nerve racking when i see iphone 4 with cartoon ui, its like i piss on art, its just not right thats why apple doesnt let you change it

Why didn't you just write that instead of posting gumpf about cars and links to an incorrect AppleInsider article?

None of that was "sell explanatory"<sic>.

I take it that "but i didint know you have android" was some sort of thinly veiled jibe? Care to explain?

well, for me the android vs ios is equal to honda vs mercedes, that statement alone should be enough

if you didnt drive those cars, maybe bmw vs ford? im sure you get the point

You do realize that ios does slow down down at times right? There is no such thing as a perfect OS like you'd lead people to believe. As for the design, I'm sorry but I don't consider a phone that is uncomfortable to hold and fragile to be a good design. As for the UI that is a matter of opinion. I do not care for the bubbly looking, glossy, cartoon looking interface. It just looks overdone and cartoonish to me. I don't care for the look of it at all. I much prefer a more minimalist interface. Hence why my device is set up how it is. But then that goes back into the whole being able to customize thing.

It doesn't sound like you have a higher criteria it just sounds like you don't know what you like. Nothing wrong with not knowing what you like, if you need someone to determine it for you that's fine, but everyone doesn't need to be told what to like. Some of us are perfectly capable of doing that ourselves.

Not to nitpick but i don't see the big deal. I spent $4.99 on swiftkey two months ago and hated it. Forget the themes, punching keys to type was horrible and i had to go back to samsung keyboard.

Also this only matters to the OCD types who care about customizing every little box on a cellphone. End result is the same, you type, it prints letters. Big deal.

This doesn't automatically make android "better". All it does is cater to a different type of people, that is all. I found I was not in that group and finally went back to using an i4 after months of android. Only thing i cared about in android was drag and drop. That is all. That is what i missed from my symbian days. Customization? lol it is a phone. I want to get some job done or get entertainment, i don't stare all day at my "boring grid of icons". It doesn't matter one bit to me.

yes, i know about jailbreak... and i hope apple wins that war

for me the bottom line in android vs ios debate is this:

both mercedes and honda can get you from point a to point b

both mercedes and honda can play music via car stereo

both mercedes and honda have wipers

both mercedes and honda have seats

both mercedes and honda have navigation

both mercedes and honda have etc..

get it?

That swings both ways because i dont agree with anything you said here. Your car reference is ridiculous and im no fan of Mercedes either.

Your comparison is awful. Anyway, I love Honda's and Acura's, they feel much better than most other cars out there to drive. (except their low end cars, which aren't that bad either).
