For me the Note II is fabulous. I can live with my phone regardless that does not have the 1920x1080 display, 2.3 quad core processor…etc. what I want from Samsung and I can't stress it enough. I want software features. My phone runs on Verizon's Android 4.1.2. I want Samsung to care about its owners.

Really digging the Note 3. Design is still meh, but better than last years. Really like the larger screen on the same body, as I wouldn't want a larger phone than the Note 2. No OIS is a bummer, and is probably the only disappointing aspect of the phone besides battery, I was hoping for a bigger bump than only 100mah. The S-pen features, while still lacking some polish, look very useful, much more than all the air gestures launched with the S4. I really hope they update the look of touchwiz though, everytime I look at those demos I shutter that my future phone will look like that.

While I'm still holding out to see what the HTC Max brings, I think this will be a great companion to my iPhone 5S.

I'm very impressed with the Note 3, for the very first time I'm seriously thinking of switching. As much as I've enjoyed each of the iPhones I've had, I've waited years and Apple's still procrastinating when it comes to a large comfortable display. I'd hate to wait yet another year only to have Apple cave in and stick with the same old size display.

With no compelling reason to migrate from my iP5 for such a modest change to the 5S, Samsung has really grabbed my attention. It's a very foreign thought to give up on Apple, but how long are they going to keep milking it? It's been awfully long already. Who can blame them for grabbing all the cash they can :)

Eh, if you want to upgrade and the 5S doesnt do it for ya, but the note 3 does, go for it. If next year the iphone 6 is the phone youve dreamed of, switch back, no big deal.

Contrary to what the internet says, you dont have to pick sides, just get what you want, when you (as long as you can afford it of course)

I honestly can't believe myself, but i'm probably gonna pass on this and go for a nexus 7 lte + nexus 5 combo. The Note III is pretty much the best phone one could hope to get and even in the end the design exceeded my expectations, really liking the faux leather that gives it quite the sophisticated look and i'm sure feel.

It's just that i recently had time playing with the new nexus 7 and that screen... and the size and weight was very nice. Buying the nexus 7 and 5 will just be a little more expensive compared to the Note III and i will get to experience my first android tablet. Gonna miss not being able to change the battery or expand the memory but i can live with 32gb and be rest assured that they will be the first to receive updates.

My phone upgrade comes next month. I just have an iPhone right now. I want the note 2 but also plan on getting an iPad. Anyone have any combo recommendations? Like a Galaxy Note 3+ iPad, iPhone 5S+iPad, or Galaxy Note 3+ Galaxy Note 10.1?

I have the Galaxy Note 8 and an iPad mini. The Note 8 is a dream to use. The only reason I have an ipad is to play Smurfs Village. Been playing it for years on the ipad and can't transfer my game to android so kind of stuck there but believe me when I tell you its a total pain in the rear to use the ipad. It is so slow and has only 512Kb of memory. Every time I open smurfs I have to close every other app so it will run. Terrible. Plays like a dream on android though. Too bad I started playing on IOS. But yeah, nothing like a Note 8 and a galaxy note 3 setup. I have every phone there is. I alternate them through my family. Got the Note II and S4 but my phone of choice right now is the LG Optimus G Pro. Gonna replace that in January with a Note 3. Can't wait.

New report from wsj says Apple is testing screen sizes as big as 6 inches.

Some of Samsung's phablet success must be getting their attention. Too bad ios will never do the things touch wiz and the s pen can. Not for a few years at least.

For me to get an iPhone again, they'd need to adopt swipe typing as well. Which I suspect they will resist until the bitter end lol.

Now I just wish Samsung would hire a competent design chief so that TouchWiz could truly start to catch up to Apple's level of OS design (visually). The updates to S Note look sort of promising, but this seems to be the area in which Samsung in turn will be stubborn until the bitter end :D

Bigger screen from apple just won't cut it anymore. If apple allowed easy access to jailbreaks or jailbreak tweaks into their app store, then I could see myself using an iPhone again.

Also, I wonder what apple would do with the home button on a screen that large. Keep it that big or shrink it down and make it similar to the S4 or LG Pro.

Awesome. Think I'll upgrade through att NEXT program! Not.

Should I preorder? Seems like the note series never goes on sale even if I hold out and wait, whereas I got the S4 for my wife for $99 from ATT two months after launch...

It's actually been on sale at best buy. I bought one at best buy this past spring for $199. I'm going to try to wait to see if they'll have bundle deals with Gear later this year, but man, it sure is tempting to pre order and get it around October 1st.

Hey, its actually not a bad deal if your going to buy off contract. The current off contract price is $724.99, and the next program you get the phone for $700 spread over 20 months ($35 a month).

That bloody video.... Its made me want one and it was smooth no stutters or lag too... :) I could almost live with Touchwiz for that.

So yeah.. Roll on Vodafone. Looks like I've decided on my yearly upgrade (first year not using it for an iPhone).

I'm curious as to how the WiFi direct works well together.

WiFi direct provides very fast file transfer between compatible devices ,without needing an active internet connection. Very useful for transferring hundreds of photos from phone to tablet in just a minute or two.
Not sure if this feature is limited only to Samsung?

For Apple to successfully sway me to the iPhone, they must allow me to manually manage my files. :)

Also, there's no news of any motion-enabled features. I assume they're omitted due to the plethora of options offered by the S Pen.

Yeah it looks amazing. Already pre ordered it sim free. Think this is the best phone this year by some distance.

Same here. Samsung have added some interesting software improvements that look genuinely useful, unlike those on the SG4.

My only concern is battery life. The Note 3 has the same capacity as my Butterfly S, yet will have to power a bigger screen, better camera and more powerful processor. Unless Samsung has made some serious optimisations to Touchwiz (unlike the issues they had with bogging-down the GS4), I can't see the it will offer better mileage over my current device.

I'll probably preorder tomorrow but going to put in a call to the retention dept and see if they have any deals or promotions to see if I can get the phone any cheaper.
Tell me how it goes pls. I want to know the good methods.
