I've decided to wait for nexus 5 pricing to decide note 3 (on contract) or Nexus 5 off contract and save my upgrade till next year.

I like to carry 2 phones. So have iPhone 5s plus nexus 5/galaxy note 3.

I had note 2 and note 3 screen brightness and clarity is top notch. The Lg G2 screen looks better though. Hopefully nexus 5 will have same screen or similar. Nexus 4 I had last year I thought screen was sharp but overall appeared a little washed out.

Ok well folks my Note 3 has arrived and it arrived at the same time as my Spigen Bounce which was very handy. Thought my screen protector hasn't so I'll be very careful whilst playing :) My wireless battery charging cover will arrive sometime this week too.

First impressions - I've never had a phablet, and yes it's big ! The pen however is almost too small - moreover the button the S-Pen is really quite tiny, and even though I dont have big hands or fat fingers - pressing the little button is quite finicky!.

Also for left handed users the pen is in an awkward place.

All my apps are set up, I've disabled animations for the most part and enabled force gpu rendering.

Some photos.

How much bulk does that case add to your phone?

surprisingly little.... Yeah I'm normally a pouch man myself, but liked the design. I do like the fact it protects the camera lens when resting the device on the flat surface and the slight lip at the front s great for protecting front too.

It's genuinely a really nice case and very good value at £9.99 + delivery

Spigen always make quality cases I find.

Thanks for the update. I agree Spigen does make good products so I may get the Bounce case and a couple of their screen protectors.

Mine is set to arrive today but spent some time at Best Buy in the Samsung zone or whatever it is called and messed around with it.

Take these comments as a brand new Note user and coming from an S3.

Cons:
Did not like the feel of the S pen at all. It felt way to small in my hands and that button is very annoying with it being so embedded into the pen.

Probably a demo version and wont hold it against the Note but it was very laggy and slow to boot up apps.

The gimmicky additions like the eye thing and scrolling were pretty lame and cant see ever using them but cant knock they are there if I want them and can be turned off.

Pros:
Really liked the feel of the back cover as I had my S3 in one hand and the Note 3 in the other and it felt so much better.

The screen is absolutely gorgeous and look forward to streaming sports and youtube on that beast

I really liked the size.Thought it may be too big and took a gamble in ordering one and trying but it just felt perfect after wanting more from my S3

Overall I am very excited to get it today and put it through the ringer for the 14 days I have to decide if I want to keep it or go to the LG G2. From what I can tell,I will never use the S pen as its awkward in my hand, way too small, and seems to take more time than less to use in certain aspects.

Also Best Buy had zero cases

Someone already got their Spigen Neo Hybrid case. I think it looks great. Just placed an order for one, same color (metal slate).

That actually doesnt look too bad after I wasnt a fan of these just from seeing them on Amazon. It also confirms the slate is bluish which I dont care for and may go the silver one.

Thanks for posting that

Is the charging pad microUSB 3 or just micro usb ?

It looks identical to the one I bought for the S4. Hows the back cover any extra thickness with it (the S4 added some thickness).

so far thats my only gripe. The pen is very small and the button awkward at best.

Any one know if you can get a bigger pen ?

I think you could but then lose the ease of sliding it into the back of the phone.

Maybe it will grow on me but it felt like a tooth pick in Andre the Giant's hand and I dont have huuuuuge hands.

Just normal USB.

Not much bulk to be honest.. Seems fine. However the case I bought it doesn't fit now

You can buy a full size pen that holds the s pen inside (I have one that I use at home-it's just not as convenient as the one in the slot). For me, at first, the pen seemed small (GN1), but after awhile, it is fine.

Does the lip on the front of the case cover where the glass and the plastic meet around the outer edge of the phone? Are the buttons easy to press? Is the case raised around the camera hole on the back so you can lay on the table?

Here it is in red!
It looks pretty good and feels like a brand new phone. The soft touch back is very nice. Buttons are very clicky and work well.

That looks great. Still waiting for mine to ship..

Same question regarding front.. Does the lip on the front of the case cover where the glass and the plastic meet around the outer edge of the phone?

Yep to all....

This phone not only replaces my S4 but I can see it replacing my Nexus 7 too. So far I'm loving it.

I used one for awhile today. I currently own an S4. I thought the Note 3 was awesome.. I really like it but.. without a Google Play Edition, I doubt I'll get it.

Stock Android is just so much better than TouchWiz in my opinion.

It is, but for me that's the area I'm compromising on with this device ...

On the bright side at least for me its very fast at least :)

Niiiicee. looks like someone at xda rooted the AT&T note 3. There goes my worry about adding international languages. Now... to keep my 5S i'm getting thursday or go note 3? :D

Eh...both?

I'm personally ditching iPhone to go Note 3. That is....until they make a bigger iPhone. I have a hard time texting on the iPhone......

If I had enough money I'd keep both....but I don't. I don't have any iOS devices right now so I'm feeling the urge to go back to iOS. Everytime I play with an iPhone I always look for that back button or that bigger screen I have on my s3 though :(

The Note 3 is clearly the best phone Samsung has ever made and one of the best phones extant. Unfortunately, it is too large for my purposes. An iphone 6 with a screen in the area of 4.5-5 and a far more mature iOS 8 and that would be my next phone.

I cannot deny that having an Apple store 10 minutes walk away from me, where I could get a speedy repair or an outright swap for an immaculate reconditioned phone ("reconditioned" with other phone manufacturers is hardly the same) is a huge attraction. The idea of mailing in my phone, be it HTC, Samsung or Sony is a huge negative.

The ecosystem is great. I'm on a 4S until the 19th and I have my mom on my plan (good corp discount). She kind of doesn't want to lose everything with her iPhone so I think she might go with the 5S if my Note 3 can't convince her.:D

I wonder if Samsung will eventually take it's ''Samsung Experience'' stores to the next level with repairs? Would be great.
But I understand your point

Yeah, I know what you mean. I still look for it even after two years! But for me the Note 3 has more openess for me as a college student/future intern to where I can get important files from here to there. Even though I enjoy the iOS' consistent stability and updates.

I'd love to have one from from each OS. But alas, these are hard times. Gotta be careful where I spend.

My biggest pet peeve of iOS is multitasking. I must be weird, but that is the MAIN reason why I'm getting a Note 3 aside from the size. I'm always doing mulitple things on my phone and hate having to open and close apps to do stuff.

But I have 30 days to return the N3 when it gets here. Hopefully it doesn't stop getting updates like my Vibrant....which is why I got the 4s the second time around.
