I've yet to find a use for multi window that I consider game changing. Can you give me some examples?

Cool, absolutely. Helpful even. But not game changing or paradigm busting.

Felt exactly the same when I had a Note 2. We all complain how difficult it is to do many things on the iPhone yet the 2.5-3.0" afforded by the split window on a Note 2/3 is all of a sudden useful?

That being said, multi window on my Note 10.1 is terrific.

I'm just looking for good ideas on multi window. I'm sure someone smarter than I has a killer app experience and I want the same. Just haven't figured it out yet.

dont you find the note to big to be an everyday phone?

Nope.

On the contrary, because of its size and added abilities I find I use it more.

I also have no issues with it fitting in my jacket or trouser/pants pockets.

I use an average of 3 hours screen on time each day and my battery gets down to 50% each day before charge. My S4, HTC One and iPhone would be about 1 hour screen on time average, so my usage of the device has tripled.

And for phone calls I find no difference holding it to my ear as any other phone.

Yeah I can see merit in a tablet larger screen, but even on the note 3 I find it too small to split the window.

so you think its better than he htc one and s4?

Yes on almost every way count bar 1. The boomsound speakers of the HTC one are superior. But in every other way the note 3 is the best android and smartphone in general that I have used in a long while.

(past year I have had iPhone 5, HTC 8x, HTC one, Galaxy S4 and BlackBerry Z10)

I have had every iPhone but this year decided to use my carrier upgrade on the note 3 instead of the iPhone 5s and I have no regrets. I couldn't think of going back to a smaller device now. And I use the pen features daily, and I love My magazine app too (I also liked blinkfeed).

Call quality has been great and I don't know whether it's because of the extra size but I found it to get better reception / carrier signal even in blackspots than any device I've used this year.

Just earphone quality and the included buds well the HTC one is better. Boom sound enhancement with beats works great over the headphones and brings music alive. The S4 has adapt sound which after setting up enhances audio through earphones but overall result isn't same but still good nether the less.

Camera on the HTC one was why I left the device. Camera is important to me and whilst the HTC one is passable for instagram/twitter etc. It just can't compete with its higher megapixel rival.

S4 has a great camera but I just never loved the phone. There was always something hovering over it that prevented me from ever truly loving it whether it was a feeling that the s-apps were half baked on it, to occasional stutters in performance.

The note 3 gives a android as smooth experience as the HTC one but with camera of the S4. The S-Apps like s - planner just feel natural and at home on the bigger device and the scrapbook in / action memos and s - notes likewise work great on the bigger device and with the s-pen. The OS is buttery and never falters and im actually enjoying touchwiz (bar some GUI aesthetic choices).

For me the HTC one was brilliant sound, great screen, decent battery life but sub par and frustrating camera.

S4 was great camera surrounded by a Ho hum experience that just never gelled together in any coherent manner leaving my experience with it shallow.

Note 3 so far has been sublime in all areas, great camera, great software features, fantastic battery life.

I'm guessing you're not a YouTube person. I'm always streaming YouTube. Music, Videos, Movies, you name it. And nothing more annoying than having to stop your music to answer a text or chat. The only solution for me? Multi-window. My wife actually loves having lyrics in one window while listening to youtube in the other window. I also use it to text in one window and chat in another. Definitely a big plus for us.

There's nothing game changing about two windows on a screen. You might be expecting too much. It is what it is. A helpful feature.

Bingo! And that's what it's all about. A feature doesn't need to be a game changer for people to find it super useful. Multi-window is a perfect example.

I like to stream Youtube and peruse the internet as I do it.

I only wish that you can run 2 chrome windows as I do a lot of 2 window work with my browser and only the stock is an option which I never use.

This phone is such a beast. So snappy and responsive in every way and I actually enjoy the S Pen after I thought I would never use it. I forced myself to use it for a straight week to at least try and glad I did.

Battery life is just out of this world coming from an S3.

Overall I cant find one thing I can gripe on about this phone.

Maybe the lack of good cases for it but of course, not the phones fault. :D

Isn't this possible already? Or is running double instances limited to certain apps only?

It wont let you run 2 Chrome windows for some reason.

I think it only allows certain apps to run twice which is weird and not sure the deciding factors in that?

whats music quality like on the note 3?

After returning the LG G2 and going back to my iPhone 5s last week, I picked up the Note 3 for a test drive tonight. I have 15 days to compare it with my 5s. So far so good, more thoughts tomorrow.
