So far I think turning off GPS makes a big difference in battery life. Or at least that's what I think was causing the battery to drain faster before.

Btw, is it possible to assign different commands to the home button (like multi tasking page via double-click instead holding down few seconds or removing S-voice completely) on the Note 3 without third party apps?

I haven't found anything in settings yet but maybe I missed it?

Another question. I got a Voice Mail notification and I now switched to Google Voice but the previous cellular Voice Mail notification won't go away, even after I clear notifications.

Is this something that will go away by itself?

Well, damn. It must really have been the GPS because now I see how much this battery rocks :)

Thanks guys

Samsung is notoriously slow with updates. I wouldn't expect 4.4 until early next year.

My Note was on 4.1.2 until.......yesterday! :D

Hopefully they're at work trying to shorten these waiting periods though. They have to realise it would help their sales if they could wash off their reputation of being so damn slow on this.

I don't think it would change much since most people don't even know what version of Android they're on :p

Edit: After trying out my friends Note 3 I'm very tempted to get one!

This is where having a million phones on the market comes back to bite you in the a**. Samsung is working hard just to get phones updated to 4.2 and 4.3 and now rumors are that they may want to save 4.4 for the S5. That won't be out till next spring. The chances on seeing 4.4 on the Note 3 anytime soon aren't looking good.

Anyone know how to only show certain folders in the Samsung Gallery App?

Right now it's showing every possible folder containing media, but I only want it to show one or few selected folders.

There's no option as far as I can see to do that.

Any ideas?

Create a .nomedia file in any folder which you want to hide.

Use the file manager ;)

I tried both with stock Samsung "my files" and the third party app "File Manager". The only thing they let you create is folders so I went ahead anyway and created ".nomedia" but it doesn't work. Can you just tell me step by step so we don't beat around the bush for long? :) thanks

Stupid question: where did my flashlight go? On the S4, the flashlight icon was available when pulling down the Notifcation screen. Not on the Note 3 though.
