See how you get on after a number of hours, because in all likelihood that usage will drop as the phone gets used for other things (screen on time etc..)

Do you have Skype installed ? That reportedly causes battery drain in KitKat..

Nope dont use it..

So i was checking the location services and saw this:

Not sure but try to disable it in all settings as looking on Google search a number of users with 4.4.2 are reporting the same thing consuming a hell of a lot their mobile data too. So check your usage of that too, especially if you have a data cap allowance ....

Edit... Seems to be related to Samsung briefing and weather ... Likely they are continuously accessing data for location... :(

Hmm now that mention i dont have a data cap but the usage its pretty high for the time i have with the phone.

Il check at the end of the day the battery standby and screen usage, for me battery is great and if i can push it even more regulating samsung software it will be fantastic.

As much as I've loved my Note 3, and it's been a flawless companion, I have moved on to the One M8. The Note 3 is still super awesome though, but I recently got an iPad so a phablet isn't really needed anymore.

I am thinking of getting this note 3 phone but i have some questions about it , first is it true that the android apps don't are updated as often as the iOS apps and do they work as well as on iOS ?
And can you control the data on the external memory card like delete and add data and so on when updated to kitkat latest i heard som rumors that it didn't work after the update?
Is the sound good on speakers or do you have to use full volume when for example watching youtube or movies to hear well?
And the final question is it going to work to mms and sms pictures and so to a non android device like iOS is it the same format and works well?:D

1) no that's no true, if anything android apps are updated more frequently than iOS apps simply because it's easier for developers to get their app on the store.

Android apps on phones tend to be identical to iOS apps the only time you will tend to see a discrepancy is on Android tablets.

2) sound is very good on the Note 3, about the same as an iPhone

3) SMS & MMS are standard and work on all devices (iOS/android/blackberry/windows phone)...

However I think you are asking about iMessage. Whilst you don't get free instant messaging with other android users like people who iMessage between iOS devices, if you install something like whatsapp on your android phone and your friends also have it, you can free text message and picture message all of them regardless of whether they are using iOS or android or windows phone...

Alternatively you can use Googles Hangouts messaging app for SMS/MMS and like messaging app on iOS it combine instant messaging into the mix too, and works just like iMessage between android devices and importantly your iOS friends can install that too (though they won't be able to SMS/mms only instant messaging).

Hope that answers your questions :)

Sometimes updates are coming faster for iOS but they are often coming at the same time for both.

I've compared the speaker between my iPhone 5 to my Note 3 very closely and I can say that iPhone has a little more bass while the Note has a tad clearer sound. The iPhone sounds a little muted in comparison. The Note gets a little stronger sound though so I'm satisfied with it :)

Damm I just realize that app switcher on the note 3 it's press and hold lol not that I didn't knew but was using nexus 4 early today and god I love dedicated multi-task button

If you root and have the menubegone xposed mod you can switch your menu button to be a app switch.

i installed the "xposed additions" module and replaced the stock "menu" key with the "back" key, the stock "back" key to app switcher, and long-press either to bring up the "menu" key

You said in another thread you went back to the Note lol, indecisive!

How? Its not letting me.

first of all, just to get the obvious out of the way, did you enable the module and then (soft) reboot your phone?

After the reboot, go into the app, buttons, "add new key", press the key you want remapped like "back", press "ok". now the "back" key shows up. click on it, click on "add new condition" and then "screen on", now "screen on" shows up, click on it and you can define the click action and long press action to be reassigned to the "back" button. repeat the same for the "menu" key and done!

I was just about to edit my post saying never mind. I found out. Thanks anyway.

This is the kind of battery life I'm getting since the 4.4 update. Screen on time of 1 hour 40 minutes at the time of screenshot. Had been off the charger since 5:30am. Most of that 1 hour 40 was spent browsing the web during my breaks. I literally watched a single 2 minute YouTube video in the morning before setting off to work and its battery drain is higher than Chromes...

Wouldn't say that's terrible screen time for the actual % but google services and YouTube does seem too high. Just the Standby time really

I actually really liked the Note 3's stock keyboard. Never been a big fan of swift key personally, at the moment I just use stock google one on my S4.

I like the Samsung keyword as well but for some reason this SwiftKey stuff is working really good, still on trial and at the end will see if I get the full version.

Wish it was possible to make changes like this while keeping the s-pen functions.
