The whole thing was awkward to use, and I'm a bit ocd lol the damm cover will not close completely after using the phone for a while, always had to put it upside down to get it to close.

Note taking was awesome though but other than that I don't know... Maybe it give it another try on weekend.

Try and push it done hard by the corners that should do the trick. I know some had this issues when they first got it

I wish the had made this thing like the smart cover for iPads, any cover like that for the note 3?

Remember seeing a case reviewed by a guy called flossy carter

Where it was a case that had a magnet on the front like with the ipad covers and the cover I have for my note 12.2.

So go to youtube and search for flossy carter and check out his channel and look down and see his note 3 case reviews.

I was checking the YouTube channel and found a video were he shows a Spidgeon magnetic clip for the cover, 10 bucks might give it a Try

I hated my SView. Good thing I only paid $7.15 on eBay. I ended up getting a SGP Neo Hybrid. So happy with it.

Got a Note 3, used it for about a week. Coming from an iPhone 4S, this is my first Android device.

Lots to like:
Screen size
Camera quality
Multi window
Removable battery
Notification LED
S Pen
SD card expansion

It's not perfect. I like the removable back and am fine with the leather texture but the protruding camera is bothersome. Wish the sides were iPhone-esque metal over the ridged chrome look plastic. Mic hole is tiny and seems destined to be plugged with dust and dirt over time.

Giant screen often defaults to giant fonts which limits the benefits. Or when the font size is adjusted big gaps of white space keep things useless (see twitter app.) For apps that are cross platform the note 3 has been equal to or better than 4S for the most part. The frustration is in replacing iPhone exclusive features and apps that I've gotten used to. Too many of the play store apps look like they were optimized for old versions and there's little in the way of consistency for system elements and navigation. Finding settings info for apps is especially frustrating, when it even exists.

Everything is google if you let it be google. Search, google now, google voice, chrome, gmail, YouTube, play store. This is ok but a little over the top. There is also a pile of Samsung apps and a pile of carrier specific apps. Beyond that it's gross accepting the questionable app permissions on every app you download.

I'm pondering the update to 4.4, and will probably root in the not too distant future. Fun to play with and could easily replace both iPhone and iPad. My thought was to have a more capable device for on the road/away from home use and for that purpose it seems solid. Great for video. Yet to find a decent ebook reader app.

As of now I'm staying with my 4S for everyday use and play with the Note 3 in my spare time. Interested in the Gear 2 or Gear Fit when they release.

I would try Nova launcher if you want something other than touchwiz.

So the og gear was launched with the note 3, any of you guys are getting the new gear or the fit ? For some reason the fit is calling my name but I don't really want to commit with a device that will only work with the galaxy line specially since I don't know if I'm coming back to ios in the future.

I'm considering buying the Note 3, but now am wondering whether i should
wait for the Note 4......?

Personally I avoid buying phones mid-cycle since last year. I bought the Note 2 at full price at this time of year last year, then I felt a bit frustrated when the Note 3 came out just five months later.

At least if you're on a limited budget like me, and can't buy another phone if you're bored with the first one. And the Note 3 will drop in price fast when the 4 comes out, so selling it then could only be done at quite a loss, I think.

Unless you can find a used Note 3 cheap of course. Ultimately I guess it comes down to how badly you need a new phone right now. For me, if I could put up with what I have for another 5 months, I would definitely wait.

I have had the Gear Fit for a couple of days now, and it works seamlessly with the Note 3.

I tried the previous Gear once (the new ones are more or less the same size), and it was simply a bit too large and clunky for me even though I would like the extra functionality (voice search, camera, using it for phone calls, IR-blaster that can control your TV and so on) that it offers.

The Fit is more basic, but you get notifications when e-mails, texts and phone calls arrive. You can also control media playback and volume (Spotify, podcasts, the regular music player and so on) from it, which is a good thing.

The heart rate monitor seems to work well, the step counter is a bit off and counts rather optimistically. I have seen this mentioned in several reviews, and it will probably be adjusted in an update. After all, counting steps from a device mounted on your arm is probably quite a challenge since the amount of arm motion when walking differs a lot from person to person. The ideal solution would of course be to calibrate it to each person in some way - e.g.: "touch to start calibrating and then walk 100 steps in your usual manner" :)

All in all the Fit is a cool little device - and it looks great as well with the curved screen.

Thanks mate, I'm hoping I can get one later on and yeah that curved display looks very "sexy" :p

I've heard that people have had issues with the sd card when updated to kitkat is it true ? now you can't save apps to sd card ? can you for example download a movie from u torrent and save it to sd card directly an then watch it from sd card and can you save music to sdcard and so on?

Stock KitKat has this problem. Third party's apps have to adjust/update.

Samsung's Touchwiz CAN continue as save to SD Card and move apps to it.

Very tempted by the gear fit.... Hmmm

I'm starting to like it a lot too. Those basic functions are all I really want from a smartwatch anyway, and I like the design far more than the Galaxy Gear watches - especially now that the screen content can switch alignment.

Even though you can't make calls directly from it - can you use it to initiate calls on your Note 3? Like say, if you were already wearing headphones with mic because you were listening to music or so?

You can only reject the call - either by 'hanging up' or by sending a text - had to test it out now, was not entirely sure.

A bit of an oversight maybe, but most headsets (bluetooth and wired) do have 'answer'-buttons near the mic you would need to use anyway for it to make sense.

You can answer (if you have headset with mic connected to the phone) or reject calls from it, but as far as I have seen you can not browse your contacts and start a call that way.

Ah ok, thanks. Well, I guess more functionality will be added as they go along anyway. The format seems just about perfect for a smartwatch IMO :)

Just wanted to say that today I got my spigen magnetic clip for the Samsung cover and it really makes a big difference, I personally stopped using the cover the same day I got for the common problem of the flap, 10 bucks is well worth it.

This phone is a beast, my usage for today:

Like a mention before no wifi, my phones I only use cellular data :) that's why I pay for it lol

I would wait if you don't need a new phone for the next 6 months.

The differences between the current and latest and greatest it's getting smaller every year. I wouldn't worry too much. The Note 3 is not my sure but people I know like theirs plenty.

I do like the flatter, cleaner version pic touchwiz on the S5 though.
