That's nuts.. I could never get that on data. Even on wifi I rarely do.

What your settings like?

Nothing really, I have auto brightness set -5 and that's pretty much it :) but only air command enabled since I don't use any of the S features; I even have the gps set to high accuracy.

Weird because I've been under the impression that the snapdragon version is more power efficient that the exynos I have.

Any of you guys know what this might be?

Quick Toggle notification for telephone calls on the S5..... at a guess

Hmm this is a mod I installed but just for the notification panel and the multitasking, no options to disable that but they don't seem to work, only show up after a call and go away after reboot. Everything else works toggles etc and the S-finder quick button.

I wonder if you go into app info for dialler/phone and choose hide notifications does it disappear?

My Note 3 shows that when I pull down the notifications while in a call. It disappears after I end it though.

I've heard that people have had issues with the sd card when updated to kitkat is it true ? now you can't save apps to sd card ? can you for example download a movie from u torrent and save it to sd card directly an then watch it from sd card and can you save music to sdcard and so on?

Personally I haven't run into any issues moving apps onto the SD, and Google apps still let you.

I've only moved a few though, Audible (I have 3gb of audio books) Google Music and some TV shows from Google video.

Popular apps will most likely be updated to support 4.4.

Post your findings :)

No reply from the dev yet but anyway I was messing around with cw recovery and long story short had to start from scratch :p the good news is that today I'm not getting that panel the notification anymore, I guess something went wrong with the first time.

Is there a ROM for the Note 3 that is similar to ARHD for the HTC One, where the stock ROM (in this case TW) is enhanced by stripping down unecessary processes to save on RAM usage and ultimately cut down on battery drain?

After having Android devices for the last 4 years I decided to get a iPhone 5s. That lasted about 6 months as now I have a Note 3 and I'm back on Android :D

For some reason I got tempted back to ios but soon realised it's limitations even after jailbreaking the device.

The Note 3 is the first Android device I've had which isn't pure Android and so far I actually really like touchwiz and the features it has.

The speed of the device is awesome and the screen is lovely.

So far I've resisted the urge to root and install a custom rom but that may change in the future lol

I rooted mine about 2 months after I got it...probably wouldn't have had I known about this knox garbage.

Samsung has really been packing a lot of garbage with their phones and it has gotten much worse with the Note 3/S4/S5 series. The amount of built in apps that were uninstalled (while retaining s-pen functionality) were in the range of about 30 to 40. Ridiculous.

The Note 3 is bogged down by Samsung's garbage that comes with the phone and there is a big difference in performance once you get rid of some of these apps.

The Note 3 has become an essential part of my life (I really hate to say it because I don't like the idea of being dependent on a device) for organizing, note taking, scanning, art and scheduling. For this reason I personally don't find switching to an aftermarket android build as a good option.

Don't need a ROM for that, just root your phone, use android tuner and remove components you don't want or need.

Obviously do your homework to determine which services you'll need and which ones are fluff to you. I think its better than putting an entirely different rom on the device.

You can also root your phone and use a CPU speed modifier (android tuner can do this too) program to cut the power draw of the processor when the screen is off. This saves battery.

Get a task manager that supports auto clear and ignore function (add your favorite apps to the ignore list so they don't get closed).

Last but definitely not least; there are aftermarket batteries out there that offer double the capacity (does make it heavier and restricts certain cases) and even triple the capacity (makes the phone a brick). This is the best option of you prefer function over beauty.

Hmm I've yet to try custom roms or messing with the phone too much because i want to keep spen functionality; do you mind sharing what are the things that you can't touch on order to keep the pen working properly?

I bought a Note 3 from one of my friends who bought the m8, this thing is amazing. It is seriously the best phone(imo)I have ever used and I have had pretty much all of them since I deal in electronic s, phones etc.

The same one you're selling here? Just curious, if so impressed, why sell? Not trolling you, genuinely curious, as only time I sell my devices is if I've replaced it with something I prefer more.

Android tuner sounds pretty cool, I just downloaded it. If you have time could you go in depth on what you personally have turned off and why? I'd be very interested to have a template to work off of.

September/October...

If you can get the Note 3 now at a good price, it shouldn't have too much devaluation by Sept/Oct if you decide then to buy a Note 4...
