OK, so I am not a big fan of Samsung either but I see double standard here from all who is crying "copy cat" to Samsung. What was Apple doing then, when they came up with iPhone 6 and 6S, the phablet category phones, which was pioneered by Samsung? I think a lot of features are so common amongst many vendors that it's now more about "getting it right" than "who did it first".
You must have some incredibly well designed vomit!

Because Microsoft would never skip a number in a product because of marketing reasons. How are you enjoying Windows 9?
which is really odd because windows 8.1 is really NT 6.3 (windows 8 was NT 6.2)
All current windows are based on windows NT. We should be on Windows 7.0 now....

NT 3.0-->NT 3.1--> NT 3.51--> NT 4.0--> 2000 (5)--> XP(5.1) --> XP64(5.2) --> Vista (6)-->
Windows 7 (6.1)-->Windows 8 (6.2) -->Windows 8.1 (6.3)--> Windows 10 (NT 10.0)

And I guess Apple ripped off Loop Pay?

Everybody steals from everybody in this industry. They have to, since you are quickly left behind if you can't tick off the checkboxes ...

Did you ever even hear of Loop Pay before Samsung acquired them? No, you didn't. Nobody did. Samsung rips off Apple when Apple puts a category on the map to take advantage of their. This is very obviously their tactic...no need to defend them.

As much as I want to mock Samsung for this, I'm glad they're doing it. If pressure sensitive interactivity is going to become a thing, there needs to be wider support.

But wait! S7 is a naming scheme ahead of iPhone's yearly release?? What happens the following year when Samsung releases the S8? iPhone will still be on 7s???? They can't certainly be ahead of Apple, they won't know what to do!

The timing is suspicious immediately following settlement of years of disputes over Samsung's many violations of Apple's patents.

I don't think anyone should be surprised by this, I thought I read other manufactures were going to be adding it. If any phone manufacture would have added it Samsung would have too. They seem to be just following the herd anymore. I personally really don't care what Samsung does they do make a nice phone but I like my iPhone.

I have no idea. I have never duse/never intend to use a case.

Plenty of Klutzes like me for whom cases are a MUST.
Without a case all my iPhones would have had broken screens.
My last 4S fell into a drum of alcohol.
I got it out quickly as it was showing it''s shining display under the alcohol and it survived.
Due to the case it took longer for the liquid to get everywhere.

Only thing was that some alcohol got between the glue and display making dark spots.
I still use it for games and as an iPod.

Force Touch trackpads on MacBooks = very useful
3D Touch on my 6S Plus = nice to have but not essential yet.

I'm not going to get all dramatic about Samsung copying Apple because I don't care. They all copy each other eventually. They still make different products that run on very different operating systems (or I would've kept my S6 instead of returning it a day later, or used my note 5 test drive for more than a couple hours). Samsung sells touch devices so they're naturally going to want pressure sensitivity features.

I own a 6s and 6s Plus and I haven't used 3D Touch once. I can't think of a single reason to use it.

Signed up for Apple Pay with my bank and haven't used that either. It's just easier to get my debit card out and use contactless payment. Half the time I have to stick the card in the reader anyway because it's not always obvious which shops have contactless tills and which don't.

I wish Apple would focus on more useful technologies like wireless charging which I would use.
That's because you don't play games. 3d touch is awesome for gaming.

I wonder if Apple would ever consider allowing their phones to dual boot (ala Bootcamp)? With Apple owning the propriety on iOS - if they allowed Android to somehow co-exsist on their phones it would create a device that no other company could copy. A bit like the large amount of people who have a mac laptop instead of a PC - so they can boot into either windows or OS X.
Hardly any people wants to use Android over iOS, most people that use Android phones don't have the money to buy iPhones.

(1) Tim Cook's mobile wallet hasn't taken off either. Sure you have the banks signed on for the service, but where are the merchants and additional countries?

(2) So in other words you're making my point for me, that Samsung doesn't copy EVERYTHING.

1) Living in the UK, I can tell you Apple Pay is taking off here. There are signs everywhere for it, and I see it used more and more as time goes on. I've never seen anyone pay using anything other than cash, card or Apple Pay.

2) Samsung doesn't copy everything. But if there's a flagship feature in an iPhone you can guarantee it will be in the next Galaxy.

So you're saying Microsoft named it Xbox 360 because of PS3 ?? That doesn't make any sense at all and never heard about it before. Your theory doesn't hold up because if it did then we should have an Xbox 4,5,6, 7 etc and not an Xbox ONE.

Just because you haven't heard about something, is not a good argument for it not being true. My theory does hold up, because if it wasn't marketing then they would be named 2, 3, 4, 5 etc. But it is marketing so its name xBox, 360, One. Microsofts numbering has nothing to do with the product iteration. The xBox One was named to imply that it is the only set top box you need. It was to replace the Media Center, and had an HDMI input.

How dare Samsung follow Apple's lead. Just because Apple copied the Surface Pro and released a iPad "pro" doesn't give Samsung the right to copy the iPhone 6s's 3D Touch.
