Samsung has had pressure sensitive technology in their note series phones for a while now. Nothing new. It's just no one cared about it because notes are not as popular as iPhones.

People need to stop this Samsung is copying apple crap. Yeah Samsung does copy Apple. But Apple copies things not only from Samsung but from the entire android family.

They all copy each other. They only platform innovating is windows phone but they are handicapped by their awful app selection.

Don't confuse between copy and innovate. they are both the same product but has different results.

Apple use existing technologies and innovate to the next level where it is easy to use and work for most casual user.

Samsung follows and copies iphone features. most of the time, Samsung copy version does not work well nor easy to use, a gimmick. it is just a me too on the spec list for comparison.

they even copy down to the name and color that have nothing to do with technology or innovation:
1) Apple Pay then comes Samsung Pay, even Walmart Pay
2) Rose Gold then comes Samsung Rose Gold
3) Apple touch ID then come Samsung fingerprint scanner
4) 6 plus then samsung Galaxy 6 Plus

how can Samsung innovates when they don't even write their own operation system? phone is so small and complex that requires both hardware and software fully integrated and baked in from the concept to design.

What's wrong with Samsung copying Apple? If Samsung can refine 3D Touch and make it slightly different, then it's not a bad thing. As long as Samsung doesn't violate IP rights or any laws, what's the point in whining and crying?

Yeap pretty much a click bait article with the usual ignorance. Let's all forget how Apple was NOT the first to announce a 3D touch screen phone.

But ignorance is bliss, or in the case of bashing Samsung it's the koolaide man!

Waiting for the day Apple will copy Samsung's wireless charging...

Haha you could be in for a loooonnnggggggg wait as Apple believe this is the future:

I hate how big following the leader is in this market. If only there was more competition.

I just don't know how Samsung manages to sustain this level of innovation?

It will also be quite interesting to see the effect of the Supreme Court refusing to hear (yes, they will refuse) the appeal, and it's effect on their innovation.

Just how different would their implementation of a "3D" Touch need to be for Apple to ignore? Perhaps $500-800 Million in damages every 4-5 years is in the budget?
IMO, the type of display will determine the litigation. :apple:

Since Huawei had it first, I don't see Apple going anywhere with this.

Wow, silly Samsung bought into the Apple marketing. Most people who I know that own a 6S , think of the 3D Touch as gimmick and a bit let down.

I hope there is some decent innovation in phones in 2016

Edit: This was already pointed out.

I am of the opinion that copying is not all that bad, outright copying is bad. But improvisations and making it your own might help push the technology forward and help with some use cases that Apple might have missed, which, might help push the technology to become mainstream.
