I honestly don't care what screen my phone has as long as it's durable, looks great and is the "best" there is to offer. Spending nearly 1k on a device makes my assp twitch...... but if I know it's got top of the components I don't mind.
No need. I read that part. I'm flattered that you think Apple takes their cues from little ol' me. All Apple though.
I was more struck by the part I quoted. You know, the part where you got nasty about iPhone users without justification or references.
Clunky is what I think of when I try to select text on my iOS devices with my fingers and the selector keeps jumping around.
Glassed Silver:mac
All the freaking time.Sorry - when does this ever happen?
Another thing you don't get to do is post on a public forum and decide who comments on what. Frankly pretty bizarre that you think so. I'm thinking you're probably pretty young. (15 or 16, perhaps?) If you're too embarrassed to stand by your comment, you should've thought first before you posted it. Especially in a forum hosted by a Mac enthusiast publication. Duh.The part you quoted wasn't for you to debate.

Not tested enough? are you serious? Samsung has been using AMOLED forever..millions of phones with AMOLED out there in people's hands.what are you talking about?
Apple is laughing all the way to the bank, what with their legions of vain and/or ignorant consumers. Certainly the 75 million iPhones sold last quarter were gobbled up by the vain and the ignorant. You can comment, but it's not up for debate that iProducts are purchased out of vanity and/or ignorance. Perhaps you're too young to have seen that trend over the last 15 years?
samsung is clearly the leader in throwing hardware at a problem and they do it wonderfully. Now that Samsung is clearly the leader in Smartphone Innovation, this will make it easier for Apple. Following Samsung's lead Apple will have a chance to copy what works and avoid what doesn’t. Apple won't be under pressure to be first.
Besides iPhones sell no matter what, therefore Apple will be in a great position if they choose to coast while profit taking like they did a few years ago, rather than increase display size. When Apple holds back and make customers wait, they prove how good their grip is on their user base.

A great decision. The design and the bezels make the iPhone look like something from 1990Sold my 6S Plus to get a Galaxy S7 Edge. Apple is falling way, way behind.

Yep, I'm okay with it. And so must the other 1 billion idevice users. They are. Some of you got ripped off![]()
I pre ordered mine. Should be here next week! I order the S7 Edge 32Gb and I have a 128GB SD Card to put in it too!Sold my 6S Plus to get a Galaxy S7 Edge. Apple is falling way, way behind.
Unfortunately, that's how a lot of the hardcore fanboys are and even if you give them facts to refute it, they dismiss it in some way. Sad really. When facts don't meet your reality, make up facts!
In other words, you have nothing. Gotcha.Keep waiting. I'm not interested in providing you with additional sources since you're not satisfied with MacRumors.
<chortle>Sure, I don't have proof that OLED screens have short lifespans, other than the MR article. So if that's nothing, I have nothing. In other words, you have nothing. Gotcha.

I am going on vacation to Legoland in mid March so it will tested vigorously taking pics and video!
Laugh all you want, only serves to make you look more foolish. What OTHER resources do you have besides what's here? Nothing? Gotcha.<chortle>Sure, I don't have proof that OLED screens have short lifespans, other than the MR article. So if that's nothing, I have nothing.
Pardon my laughing at you.
Well, since it means that much to you:Laugh all you want, only serves to make you look more foolish. What OTHER resources do you have besides what's here? Nothing? Gotcha.
This is 2016, try something recent. Not 8 years ago. Thanks.Well, since it means that much to you:
The biggest technical problem for OLEDs was the limited lifetime of the organic materials. One 2008 technical report on an OLED TV panel found that "After 1,000 hours the blue luminance degraded by 12%, the red by 7% and the green by 8%."[69] In particular, blue OLEDs historically have had a lifetime of around 14,000 hours to half original brightness (five years at 8 hours a day) when used for flat-panel displays.
OLED Technology To Take Another 3-5 Years Before Maturation
Currently, OLED manufacturers have used high drive power to increase efficiency, but component lifespans have been shortened as a result. The current solution is to connect layers of OLED structures to improve luminous efficiency. If two different structured OLEDs are laminated together during deposition, it can create a much stronger light, nearly two times as bright under the same power drive.

Do you honestly think I care what you waste your time on? You sure do waste a lot of time defending Apple though. And secondly, lifespan of OLED for 99.9999 percent of the world, isn't an issue. Go figure.Try reading more closely. The second article is from 2014.
Since you can't be bothered to pay attention, I can't be bothered to waste more time on you.
