I wonder if, in real world use, Samsung's skin/bloat is better now than it used to be. People seem to say that it is. I have an Nexus phone running stock Android and the experience is terrific, but I haven't used a Galaxy S7 or S8 day-to-day. I do ponder whether the S8 will slow down after six plus months of use.I played with my friend's S8+ yesterday and it was really nice. Made me miss Android and the Samsung skin for a while, but then I went back to my 7 Plus and realized how well it's integrated with my Mac. My 7 Plus doesn't have stupid bugs that crop up, apps running haywire, battery life issues, etc. It just works and it works very well. I actually use Apple Pay a lot more than I was using Samsung Pay on my old Note 5. Apple Pay works every time, unlike with Samsung Pay where I had to try a couple of times to get it to complete the transaction. Yes the 7 Plus does look dated next to the S8 and S8+, but until i switched over to an iPhone, I didn't realize how well these phones work.
It looks exactly like the S8.
Don't know why some on here have such a hard time giving Samsung props for coming out with a legit game changer in design. The S8 is absolutely stunning and it does indeed make my iPhone look old as hell, with the over sized bezels, dated resolution, and a phone design that's 3yrs old. Instead of giving Sammy props, there's the usual "well Samsung is only doing good b/c..." "The S8 is only popular b/c...." excuses.
Both Apple and Samsung make great devices. I own products from both companies and can recognize that they both make excellent devices. But Samsung is killing it with the S8. Absolutely gorgeous device. And it deserves all the praise it gets. The only thing about the S8 that I don't like is the fingerprint sensor. Other than that, solid 10s across the board. I'm hoping the Samsung's excellent device will push Apple to come out with a solid iPhone this fall. I want Samsung to push Apple and Apple to push Samsung. It's great for us consumers
Beautiful phone, no doubt. But you honestly feel that the software on the S8 is a 10? I know, for me, that is the main reason I can't give Samsung much props. A rectangular screen (although beautiful, and I would hope considering they make them) is only as good as the software behind it.
Touchwiz (Samsung experience) has gotten a lot better IMO. And this is coming from a person, who absolutely hates Samsung's android skin. It's crazy smooth. And android 7 is awesome in its own. So yeah, solid 10 to me. Like I said before, the only about the S8 that irks me is the fingerprint scanner. I get why Samsung did it but I still hate the location of itBeautiful phone, no doubt. Buy a Galaxy s7 Active.Looking at that edge-to-edge screen, all I can say is this as far as mobile phone evolution can go? Before I am accused of bashing Samsung and not Apple, the same applies to the rumours about the next iPhone. I honestly don't care about edge-to-edge screens, curved glass etc. What I do care about is battery life, signal reception, robustness, construction quality, and getting things done with my phone.
That's what I am asking though, like what? What options do you get?
If the iPhone disappoints this will be my next phone. It is fantastic.
If it wasn't for the headaches and instability of Android OS, I would have jumped ship and pre-ordered the Samsung.
No they're not Amazon. They are, like everyone says they do, copying Apple. This time it's Apple's marketing tactics being copied. Apple is the king of 'best ever', 'fastest selling', 'most' marketing that leaves out supporting numbers. It's marketing. There's nothing wrong with it.Best ever but no figures? They're Amazon now.
